you forgot to mention Def jam ffny:the takeover it's a PSP version of fight for new york it has the same gameplay as the PS2 game but the story is suppose to be a Prequel to Def jam Vendetta and Fight for New york.

If they ever were bringing back this series, bring back some of the fictional fighters from both Vendetta and FFNY, like Pockets, House, Masa, Chiang, Cruz, Skull, Bo, Nyne, Solo, Teck, etc. , they were also pretty cool. And probably a slew of other things as well, such as: -Bring back venues from both games -Give us the environmental accessibility that FFNY had (Crowd moves, weapons, dropping people onto lights such as the ones in the Foundation, as well as the rest). -None of those weird mounting ground attacks from the Takeover. -Retain the fixed camera seen in all of the games except the Takeover. -Keep the created character customization. -Blazin' moves(obviously). -Keep the music that plays when you blaze. I love the dramatic/badass feeling you get when you trigger it, as well as the silence when you do land it. -If possible, bring back tracks from all three games, as well as the unique exclusive soundtracks, such as the Dragon House theme, Blindside (Baxter/125 Street Station), the Scrapyard After Hours theme from FFNY, etc - Merge both old and new rappers to appeal to both sides. -If bringing back those in Vendetta and FFNY, give us the option to switch skins, for example, Method Man as he appeared in Vendetta and FFNY, and what he would wear today. -The requirements to K.O. from FFNY. Takeover, in my opinion, made it somewhat less satisfying, as well as reducing the impact of comebacks. -Keep the Fighting style and stat customization from FFNY, but allow the player to determine what grapples/combos they would like via selecting them from something like a moveset pool. -Keep stats from FFNY (Upper body, lower body, speed, health, toughness, charisma) -NO MICROTRANSACTIONS. Make any DLC free, with allowance of cosmetics that can be shrugged off and not make an impact on the game purchasable. After a month or so, release challenges that allow players to get said cosmetic. -NO Lootboxes. I'm tired of relying on luck instead of skill to upgrade/unlock items.

Idea for a def jam game if it came out in 2013. Your little sister starts talkin to some new guy without telling you. One night she's at the club with the new guy and he beats her into a coma. You being pissed off go out and try to find the man who did it. Midway through the game you find the man who was your sister's ex-boyfriend but he wasn't the guy who did it. His name is Shady Slim. Slim tells you that they broke up 6 months ago and she's been dating some high roller. finally you make it to the final boss with a killer Haymaker named Chris Brown. You defeat Chris Brown and later realize your sisters Rihanna

Vendetta will always be my favorite

I just saw a video of the blazes in vendetta and a few of what I noticed were freaking insane that I wonder how some of them aren't included in the game. I hadn't played the game before, but seeing the game many times, I say it's really great especially the story mode that I was interested of how that begun than what I already love a lot in Fight For New York.

That WCW 2000 magazine clip was about WCW Backstage Assault before it had its title. WCWBSA was developed by Kodiak Interactive and Published by EA. They also made WCW Mayhem. Those projects (thank god) have nothing to do with AKI or Def Jam. AKI was brought on by EA to make WCW Mayhem 2 and that was flipped into Def Jam Vendetta in 8 months. The follow up, Def Jam FFNY has nothing to do with WCW Backstage.

Huh, no talks about the PSP version of FFNY? It looks largely the same, but instead of a pick up button you get a mount attack button, which makes it feel even more like a UFC game than a wrestling game. Also any strong move that empties the health bar KOs instead of requiring the bar to start in the red.

I have to tell you that at the time, a lot of rappers who were in Def Jam Fight for New York weren't even signed to Def Jam. There is too many to list, but just make note of that the majority of Crow's crew we're rappers who were not signed to Def Jam, while the ones who were in D-Mob's crew actually were in Def Jam.

i never got the chance to play fight for NY but i played the shit out of vendetta as a kid. i bought it again a while ago expecting it to not hold up but holy shit it held up. i had so much fun playing it i replayed the story like 6 times.

Anyway, if there's an engine right now that would fit the fun of Def Jam, it's the Yakuza engine. Look what it did for Fist of the North Star! Who wouldn't wanna roam the streets and experience thug life for once? Plus you could still have entering clubs and fighting in arenas too.

You didn't mention honestly one of the best things about Icon--the interchangable soundtrack that could play if you were tired of hearing the default songs and you wanted to hear new ones.

All they had to do was copy and paste Def jam FFNY, up the graphics, add more people to the roster and add online multiplayer but no we got Def Jam Icon.

Could anyone imagine someome doing a game like fight for new york but with metal bands fighting each others? I think it would probably be good. But still, maybe there is a future for the series. I read a little about def jam making a come back to video games.... but only time will tell. Me being a metal head, i wouldnt know any of the current rappers, but if they have method man, redman, busta and snoop, hell yeah buddy! Just make them look young in the games if so ;)

I'm pretty sure every rapper that appeared in FFNY were not signed to Def Jam at all including Snoop, Ice T, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes or Bonecrusher to name a few.

If they could figure out the copyright problems, they could(and should) rerelease the old games as downloadables. ESPECIALLY Fight for New York. If they made another game like their old ones,I can almost guarantee that they could outdo the garbage WWE releases today(and I'm a fan of both,and I still like Fight for New York better than WWE2k18 😂).

Ice T mainly because he’s mad quick with his strikes and given that’s it’s pretty early in the game he’s pretty hard.
