i really like this game, i don't know why some people don't like this game, im guessing because of the slow game play edit this on july 22 2021 check my twitter out if y'all want Frankman_Gaming?s=09
Lol ur just saying that because of Nostalgic reasons, this game had way better music, more fluid movement with fighting, the ability to use speakers to blow ppl away was fire too 😂
I think they should do a fight for NY, with this Music interaction systém,realy this interaction with the músic is great, however, the Def Jam ICOM is a shit
Because games got way more expensive to make. If you look, hardly any console developers lasted from the early 3D era to the HD era, and it was hard to find the balance between realism and fun gameplay which resulted in a lot of awkward games
Love this game for the music changing system and the fact even your created characters could have your own music uploaded onto the game was so sick and so ahead of its time. I remember creating TuPac and blazing Hit Em up.
That what I'm saying. When I uploaded my own music, the background still was able to hit the beats like 95% of the time. It really was underrated. Still is...
Ohhhh. That's sickkk I have it for PS3 I'm struggling to scratch too I really cantttttttttttttttt do it I get it you have to go to the left twice and right but it's scattered other than that part of the game I love this game . I stand on that and I search up how to do it and no one teaches me good I do not care what anyone else has to say about this game. Thanks for letting me know
I played both FFFY and Takeover, after seeing more fighting mechanics and venues in a PSP game than in its console counterpart i can assume that FFNY was also rushed (it doesn't mean that it is bad, but it could've been even better).
This game killed one of the best fighting games of the early 2000's thanks a lot EA doing what they do best.R.I.P. Def Jam FFNY, thank god for emulators.
True, I don't know why people complaining about it, it was decent even if it wasn't like the older titles. The mechanic was something no other fighting game had
I never played this game, and from the look of it, I can see why. It doesn't have anything from the first two that made the franchise great. Where are the Blazin' moves? Grapple moves? Combos and styles? The music idea is an interesting concept but with such unappealing gameplay it falls short.
If they would of sped up the fighting, added more variety of moves and fighting styles( kept the blazing moves too!)/locations/artists/songs, and fleshed out the story more…this would’ve been a hit back in 07. The graphics/art style was solid for its time as well
@@brandonneal2513 he just said the game had cool graphics roster and music but called the game bad? That makes no sense at all unless he's talking about the gameplay and tbh it looks unique and cool.
@@jmay2695 yes, but actually no. Everything about this games potential was great but the execution was really lacking! The controls were substandard the fight pacing was terrible, some of the enviroments/stages were bland.. To top it off the story was lame AF! The only thing that made this okay to play was the effort Method Man and Anthony Anderson put in their performance of the characters made it slightly interesting but all the missed opportunities made this a mediocre game
Anthony gamble this game was really slow-paced like the newer WWE 2K games. I remember growing up with the PS2 and all the other games were about fast fighting and shit. Just the way we all loved it. But unfortunately shit changes and starts turning to doo doo. Luckily Rockstar Games is still making entertaining games to this day!
the movements are so clunky and slow, ia fucking horrible and the camera and the fucking environment shaky camera horrible and no blood this game should have never existed
Yeah, and the mastery progression took way too long cause the controls sucked! Once you figured out how the A.I. worked tho, you could destroy anyone easily under 2mins by timing the "world effects" and spamming moves which you couldn't get away with in previous games
I will never forget how disappointed I was when I bought and played this game. I loved Def Jam : Fight for NY and assumed this was going to be a continuation of that. I did one match and then just blankly stared at the wall. I turned the game off and never played it again.
This game was so trash. I remember being a teenager being so hype when i got this game since i was a huge fanof the first 2 games. Boy i was so upset after playing a few matches. Complete Garbage. If they remastered fight for NY id buy it in a heart beat.
I liked this game when I was younger as a Def Jam fan. Looking back at it, I can see it's flaws. The fighting moves are severely limited, no combos, no special moves, no different styles. The environmental effects were a nice touch, but it seems they spent more time on that than the actual fighting. This could've been the best one if they just built upon the fighting system. Everything else was well done.
Now I remember what I hated the most in this game: the camera angles, these stupid shits kept this "low to up" angle and messed up everything. I really liked it, despite FFNY being my favorite. This one had potential, the mechanics of playing your own theme song to inflict damage to your opponent, using the own stage features as the "crowd" from FFNY to attack, this was fucking sick.
It's a cool looking game to see, but if there's one thing game developers can understand from its failure, it's that fighting games' gameplay can't be slow.
I'm surprise how many views this video have, this video is going to be my first 1 million views on my channel, thank you guys and girls for viewing my video
@@edgemo3000 old comment but that's different. NY didnt need change all it needed was better roster, new story and HD graphics. But EA decided to trash everything.
@@10HunnidMel I don’t mind it, because this threequel makes us Def Jam veterans feel like we moved up from the urban 'hood arenas in Fight for NY, to the rich-@ss arenas in Icon. But this is clearly an incomplete game.
Bro I got a question I’m trying to get my yt channel going how do you upload your vids like that might sound kind of stupid but I mean like how do you make your vids fit perfectly into the screen
Wow my first 1 million views video, i am very greatful that you guys to put in the time to watch this video, again thank you so much for watching my video.
If you think about it it was more about the music and the atmosphere then they fight. Def jam games used to be more like wrestling games back then. And I think fans wanted the game to be more on music so this is what they tried to do. Only problem with the fighting tbh is the pace and speed of the fight if it was a little faster I don’t think this game would be as bad as you think
I remember the gameplay being so cool when I was younger. Now? Ehh, but regardless the music was a great touch. Nothing beats the older ones though. 🔥🔥🔥
I remember renting this game way back from a mom and pop store (I don't think I was old enough to get it anywhere else) it was probably the first game I ever returned before to date it was due back. Lol
I don’t get what’s funny it was something different and innovate at the time. Either you got the controls or you didn’t. The people that had trouble are the ones that didn’t like the game
Def Jam could've been one of the best fighting game series ever made. It was so fun and SO BLACK. Like goodness why did they have to turn it into this.
ionicblood666 I mean, that doesn't mean much when rap is now the most popular genre. And 21 isn't that bad. Plus people also listen to Kendrick, Cole, Joyner Lucas, Logic, Post Malone, Joey Badass, Lil Dicky, and plenty of other talented modern rappers soooo no R.I.P.
jackpress15 very rare though. Guys will be buried by the pop songs Every time. Joyner is by far the best out the bunch. All these kids care about is record sales.
ionicblood666 It's not that record sales is all they care about, it's what their record labels care about. Hell, even Lil Uzi said he hates being under a label because it restricts him from releasing music whenever he wants. And the people I listed still get a lot of plays even if they're not on the Billboard top 100s. Hell, Joyner just now blew up and even he was getting millions of views on his songs before he properly blew up.
Man, we have to congratulate you. After play this game and know by heart his gameplay mechanics, you can do anything in your life. What a brave homie you are. Cause this game motherboring sucks.
Thank God they dont make this game for this generation of rappers. No offense....but of this came out now. Most the rappers be wearing dresses and tweeting at each other.
I mean I love the idea of the stage blowing up while you play to the music and how each rappers song plays and you can play your rappers music over his
Graphics are good yet glitchy. Gameplay is well paced and fun once you get the feel of it. There is a block n counter system that’s decent and you basically use the whole pad including the d-pad to pull off the moves. Mastering the mixing and environment damage is fun and advantageous. There is plenty of styles strikes throws and grapples to master. It’s a ‘good’ game if you can pick it up cheap.
I remember seeing a trailer for this game. I was excited. Then I read about it more in a magazine. That's where I read how the combat was going to be handled and knew immediately it was going to suck.
Lil Marcus nigga thats a completely different game specifically made for that xbox camera they had. Can't really compare the two OP is right this is the worst game they came out with lmao
Grym Rone Reaper I beg to differ I say that def jam rapstar was the worst def jam game shit didn't have any fighting just karaoke of different def jam songs.
Lil Marcus I guess those were the two worst def jam games they couldve given us another def jam game that was good like def jam vendetta & def jam fight for NY
