I would love for the remaster to be released, suprisingly, it shouldve been released years ago. I dont see why this is a bad idea because this was the most popular wrestling game since wwf no mercy. Def jam should reconsider a remake, or def jam vendetta 2. This is the best time for it right now. Hands Down!
I would honestly played this game first over any other fighting games I Ever had.🥺 It was a time of Games had complete stories, well finished projects. It's been a lost for me in the Gaming World as I got older.
@@bjax3213bj if only I could go back to being at a sleepover just a kid, w my cousin's, at grandma's house tryna keep quiet all night till we passed out haha man that was luv
That is not the actual resolution for the PS2 I think its upgraded with an emulator but still developers should take that reference and do it better cause ps2 still bettter
I’m all for a remaster on PS5/XBOX One X, hell even on the Switch if possible. I was just saying for the game to be that old it looks extremely good on PS2 til this day 👍🏾
I just wish we could get a fan made remastered version of it because I don’t believe we will ever get a new release. If we could get a fan made remastered downloadable PC version of it that would be like the closest that we could get to playing a remastered version I feel. Shoot I’ll even take a downloadable PS2 port for the PS5.
Best thing for those who were around for the original, now they can play with their children and perhaps won't need to read the instructions. Each players moves are all ready burned into our memories.
@@beckyross3210 again...read the original comment slowly then proceed to make a comment :) "Best thing for those who were around for the (original), now they can play with their (children)"
@@foolstop.5883 Yes he's meaning they can play with there children on this new game because they still remember the moves🤦♂️not knowing that this isn't a new game, you read it slower because you clearly don't understand English, he proceeds to say we won't need Instructions for this new game as the old moves are burned into our heads
@@DerekOfRivia Yet it's sold over a million (probably way over that by now) has won awards for best hardware of the year and is literally a revolution in gaming. Yeah, nobody knows about it /s Besides, who cares if people know what it is or not? Point is I’m playing the game right now with visuals/performance like what’s in this video RIGHT NOW and with the ability to on the go if I choose 🤓
Bro, it would actually. All they need to do is have the same style that fight for New York had and put in new rappers from this generation and it’s a done deal.
it impossible to many rappers have problems with one another and def jam's label in itself is dead. Ive been wanting another ppl been wanting another defjam for almost 20years now (icon doesn't exist)
@@sno4538 hell no. 2chainz, big Sean, Dave east, fabolous, fredo bang, kanye, Rihanna etc are all new fighters they could put in the game with the old ones already be on there. Def jam would never be dead
@@aceassn716 I mean all the money EA be making from all those other games money shouldn’t even be an issue be Im pretty sure they can do it or even sequel i can’t see the game getting an actual remaster due to prodigy and baby Chris death and the licensing to the soundtrack but I can definitely see it getting a sequel for sure I mean we actually never know what happened to our created fighter after snoops defeat or will the sequel start off with another created fighter protagonist that still riding with Dmob crew and a new antagonist but an antagonist from this rap generation like an old school VS new school concept like there are soo many possibilities EA needs to stop being lazy and do some work with def jam records and some of the rappers in this generation and make it happen seriously 💯💯💯we need another dirty street hip hop fighting game
the game did have a third installment it came out on PS3 Def jam icon but it wasn't the same the graphics where good but it was like they just threw something together i mean no cutscenes really now blazin moves no fighting styles great music no girls in the game to fight against for a catfight it just sucked
my 12th birthday.... all i asked my parents for was Def Jam Fight For NY and Madden 05 with Ray Lewis on the cover. I wanted the Prima Strategy guides to go with them. man this just bring back so many memories it's crazy... spending time with the homies, playing on Xbox , having tournaments , eating hot pockets , going out side hooping, coming back in playing Def Jam.. i still play this game on my PC till this day..
I remember after the fight with sticky fingaz in the ring of fire you walked up to Crows place. I used to have so much ice on the shit was shining from far away. I loved that scene lol
I have played dozens of vs games, but man, Def Jam occupies 98% of my heart in this genre. That is why I downloaded an emulator to my phone just to play this on the go.
Yooo I loved this f'n game, I beat up Joey Crack Corn.... and I didn't care! I really wish they would make a remaster/sequel.... this was like Street fighter mixed with the rap world. So f'n cool, I couldn't believe it actually got made when I was in middle school, and I can't believe it even more now lol.
imagine if they make a another def jam game like this with present generation rappers like Lil baby, travis scott, 21 savage, Dababy, drake, Lil Wayne etc would be a BANGER 💀🔥
I hope they really do this for this and some other legendary PS2 classics that were hella fun like NBA street vol 1 & 2, Ready 2 Rumble boxing, WWE Smackdown games and twisted metal
suggestion, if you decide to do a remaster… please take your time. the game was already perfect it just needs polishing. it needs modern graphic/texture remaster as well as well as an multiplayer online/offline co-op remaster it in unreal engine 4, the animations and audio can stay how it is. just visualize this game with mortal kombat 11 graphics.
Man they need to let you legit remaster this game. I’d be one of the first to buy it without question!! Favorite fightin game with a favorite game engine, outstanding work you did with this. Respect.
This game has so much fkn support behind it but they never chose to re release it … a lot of money could be made . Still until this day I haven’t found a game with more enjoyable fight mechanics
Last Def Jam in the series had a promising mechanic they added. Though Fight for NY was the personal favorite, for what more it had to offer over the original Def Jam. A definitive remastered edition would be cool, though I can't say it'd be easy task to add new artists to the roster.
Yeah, DJ Icon was trash. Came out during Chop n Screwed rap era so the roster has a bunch of people that became irrelevant the year after the game came out.
Used to play the hell outta this game and it never got old. Makes me wanna get a ps2 just to play this game again. Need for speed underground and djffny were my go to
It's 2004, first year of high school is complete! Uncle's ps2 was left at my place while he was locked up all summer for stealing a car and dui! Had the homies over for a sleepover and played this all night long! Good ol' days!
This would be iLL but I dont know why they refuse to make it. Its not okay to just let this die like this they need to either remaster or create better improved new one and remaster this as well with a great story line.
Fight for NY was epic! Make a part 3 but call it World Tour or something like that! Each Artist holds down their respective state and/or country. Even split some up by city. Artist from Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Africa, Europe, etc. Bro the roster would be crazy! The Olympics of Rap/R&B fighting!
My cousin put me on to Def Jam and I've been addicted every since. I still got the hardcopy for this game and all, my PS2 got stolen in storage and by that time PS3 took over. I miss this shit and the days that came with it.
WOW!! that look perfect, it's not too janky or too unrealistic. this is what I imagined the Remaster of this game to look like and best of all the clothes look absolutely perfect especially with the better graphics
This is literally the one fucking game I wish they would remake, only folks back when can understand the nostalgic of playing this game non stop. I got the 3 fighting styles down to perfection too!
