KingScorpion73 Mine, too... Def Leppard have remained one of my all time favourite bands ever. Seeing them live was bittersweet, though... I adored Steve & it was after his passing. Broke my heart.😢💔
When you said "His voice!" I was like oh girl...I hear ya. I was ten when I had that moment...it doesn't go away. 33 years later...it doesn't go away. He'll get you EVERY time.
My older brother's favorite band ever to this day. When I was in elementary school and he was in high school, he'd pick me up after school blasting Def Leppard's "Pyromania" and "Hysteria" in his old blue Chevrolet. I like to make him mad by asking him to guess what sucks and has nine arms. Jokes aside, Def Leppard was my first live show by a big name band back in 1992 or so. Good times. They have a lot of awesome songs.
India - you can do a complete reaction to this hole album. Every song is so good. Hysteria album is from 1987 and sound as good today as it did then. Happy new year to you. Cheers from Stockholm Sweden.
In College, my Suitemates next door were from Sweden on the Tennis Team, and they played the album Hysteria almost 24/7 for months on end. I was playing Starflight on the PC, so I can't hear this song without thinking of that game either when it was going. The album is burned to memory, I can recall almost any song in the brain and not need the album or MP3 playlist!
oh girl...Def Leppard is EVERYTHING!! I'm only 37 and have seen them 4 times now. After their first show I caught I was hooked. I was born in '82 but I was too young to really catch feelings for this band until I was older and could understand a lot of what they sing about. The ballads, the harmonies, the guitar riffs always giving me goosebumps!
I was a teeny-bopper in the 80's. My "Fishy" 🐠 Year in high school was in 1983, Def Leppard MADE MY high school YEARS MORE EXCITING And WE had EXTRA FUN Listening to Their Hit Songs while cruising on the weekends near the "hot spots"! 😎 ✌ Life in the 80s was a TON of FUN, an ERA that'll NEVER Be Duplicated EVER Again. I MISS the 80's. 😢 💔 #DefLeppard 😘 #LoveBites #80sMusicwasTheBest ✌ #OldiesButGoodies 😎 💛
I saw Def Leppard, Journey, and Cheap Trick in St. Louis after coming back from my second overseas tour. My first concert and boy was it incredible. Def Leppard stole the show.
After they made it big he bought a Corvette. One day he lost control in a turn and flipped it over. His arm became entangled in the seatbelt that somehow became detached and it ripped his arm off when he was thrown through the sunroof!. But the band did refuse to go on without him and waited for him to learn to drum with one arm! That sounds like some great friends!
This song takes me back to the summer of 1989 and my first love.......we loved each other and hated each other it was intense and was the best summer of my life!
Love bites ~ word of wisdom!!! Every decade has a band that "carries the torch" of hard rock music. This band definitely carried that torch successfully into the 80s; late 80s. I'll always say it: My fav Def Leppard song, 'Rock Brigade', was from a late 70s album called 'On through the night'. Great upload!!!
I really enjoyed your reaction, thank you! If you ever feel like doing more Def Leppard I highly recommend Hysteria, Pour Some Sugar On Me, and Animal - all excellently performed, produced, and recorded for your pleasure.
Great tune! More Def Leppard YES! I like anything from Hysteria and older. I can listen to all those albums without skipping a single song. especially, High and Dry! Their newer albums have a ton of great songs too.
My favorite band I live in Arizona and I've seen the boys 12 times hope to see them a few more I was 16 the first time I saw them I'm 53 now saw them last year in Phoenix
i have to tell the short story............when the drummer lost his arm in a motorcycle accident, the boys visited him in the hospital, and the only thing they wanted to know was how soon he could be back. they never thought of having him replaced, just how soon. now THATS loyalty. true friends
It wasn't a motorcycle accident. He flipped a sports car over a rock wall and had his arm amputated in the hospital days later cause they couldn't save it.
Def Leppard- my all time fav band- When Hysteria came out, it was way beyond it’s time- nothing else sounded like this and they had already reached global recognition with Pyromania but Hysteria stamped their authority as the best band at the time. There are ppl that give DL and this album hate saying they sold out and went poppy but if they kept making albums that sounded like their earlier stuff, they’d have just been another band. I love the fact that they have albums that all have a different sound - raw rocker like High n Dry , Hysteria and Adrenalize , pyromania kinda in between hnd and hysteria- slang- , retroactive- you got an album for every mood!!
I saw Tesla, Styx and def Leppard (not sure if that's the tour you are talking about) but def is my favorite 80's band hands down. Saw them a bunch. Thankfully they still tour a lot! Btw TESLA is easily the most under rated band to come out of the 80's!
I like Def Leppard songs, but for what type of band they are, the drummer was in an accident and had an arm amputated and they fix up the drum set to still keep him in the band, that is a unique kind of love.
This is probably my favourite song of all time. Originally written by the bands producer Robert John 'Mutt' Lange as a country tune, the band took it on and made it arguably the greatest rock power ballad of the '80s. I was twelve when the 'Hysteria' album came out, just hitting puberty and getting feelings for girls. So the songs off that album have huge sentimental significance for me. 'Have you Ever Needed Someone So Bad' is another amazing ballad they did about five years later. That song coincided with my first girlfriend and subsequent heartbreak. And ten years after that their song 'Torn To Shreds' followed another devastating relationship failure. So it's safe to say that Def Leppard has charted so many of the most emotional stages of my life growing up.
Back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit the bass player Rick Savage auctioned off his powder blue leather jacket from the 1988/89 MTV Awards, I won it for $1000.00 USD ! Kept it all this time away in my closet!! Loved Def Leppard since 1979!! Of course Rick Savage has been my favorite, met the guys 12 times!! ❤❤ Of course seen them 28 times through the years!! ❤🤘
Since you're on metal, listen to Scorpions, "winds of changes" or "still loving you" India makes a great Headbanger!! 😆 A lot of metal is very deep and complex if you listen closely.
This song hit home with me in 1987...just got out of a bad marriage...she was verbally abusive, and I couldn't take it anymore. Didn't mean I stopped loving her...I had to get away for my own sanity. It took me moving 450 miles west to break free and start again.
They are not just a band they are THE Band, the best to ever do it! They can take you any where you wanna go you want rockers they got them in spades, they can slow it down with the best of them. Hands down my favorite of all time
I so enjoy watching these reaction videos people checking out for the first time music that I’ve loved all my life I love when people open their mind a different music because like me my music goes through all genres
Congratulations for making the reaction to this beautiful song, I like the band and drummer Rick Allen, this song was from the first LP after the accident that cut off his left arm, the guy is a beast!!! An example!!!
I know it like 2 year to late but I can't listen to this song without crying. I grew up in a small town. I had a huge crush on my sister friend. I would never tell her how I felt, because I was afraid if her and my sister had a falling out, I'd never see her again. She moved away when we where in high school, and moved away soon after. I would never forget her. After 30 years, her and I both having multiple marriages, and at times thousands of mile between us, we found each again. I finally told her how I felt, and turns out she felt the same way. 6 months after we reconnected, she passed away for cancer.... I never loved again
India I love how you describe songs that for me was a staple diet of songs growing up and I guess wasn't on your radar growing up the choice of song for you, you have made me look at this song through your eyes and I thank you for this but also thank you for all the other songs from every genre you have shown and given me different views on these songs :)
Oh wow !! I love the way she felt the emotions of this song. They were seriously addictive. What am I saying , they still are. The song Women is probably my Favorite. Its from the same album. It's the 1st song . It's faster but still, has the same emotion!! Give it a try . U just earned a new sub😊
Huh? I have listened to this song for 20 something years and this the first time I took the time to understand the lyrics. Thanks India. Try anything off their "Pyromania" album. Great album as a whole. Hope you have an awesome New Years.
Speaking first. Def Leppard is a great rock band. Been listening to them since I was a kid......High and Dry. I'm actually wearing their t-shirt now, oddly enough. Let's go.
RIP, Steve Clark, Lead guitar here. -----Joe Elliott on lead vocal-------Phil Collen on guitar, along with Steve Clark------Ric Savage on bass-------RickAllen, with only ONE ARM, on drums. ---------MJL< 75 y/o
i like how you read the lyrics at the end and offered your take on it also kinda like a bonus impression, a lyric impression AND a music impression. well you brought both. good on you.
I bought this CD and Jammed "Love Bites" for 8 months b4 it came on the radio. I shit you not. I was wondering why this song was not on the radio 8 months after the CD's debut.
