Thanks to our donors and supporters, Defeat Duchenne Canada has been the leading funder of Duchenne muscular dystrophy research in Canada for more than 29 years, granting $17.73 million to date.
This year, we received 21 funding applications from seven countries. Our Research Funding Advisory Committee (RFAC), Duchenne Family Advisory Committee (DFAC), and Board of Directors then carefully reviewed applications. We proudly announce that we have chosen to fund five applicants over the next three years, totalling more than $880,000 granted in 2023/24.
