Look nothing comes perfect I should know had a little prob with discovery but land rover Orlando went above and beyond to accommodate me so after my second one when I picked up the range sport I saw the velar brand new and picked up one for my wife. The vehicles are great but great service counts complementary or not.
Really enjoyed your review. I’ve had mine now for just a week and I’m blown away. It’s brilliant!!! My 4th Lr ! I’m a wildlife photographer and I give my Lr,s pure hell. One failure in all theses years . A bad battery .
Thank you for the compliment. Nice, what color Defender did you get? I have friends with LR’s who have over 100k and reliable too. I was able to watch the video of the Defender team who participated in designing it from nose to tail. It was nice receiving a welcome email from them. If you get a chance look it up right here on RU-vid. Cheers...
Mine is FuJi White. My first white LR and I actually really like it ! Oh and yes I’ve seen the video! Love it ,really makes you enjoy the LR even more!!!
I’d say the Brits would have been drunk on Monday due to the EPL matches on the weekend, but the new Defenders are all made in Slovakia! Mine should be delivered in January so I’m also crossing my fingers i don’t get a bad one!
Congrats on the new Defender, she's a beaut and hopeful and praying that she's a good one and a keeper. On a side note, did you know that the 2021's now has an option to get the DRL and foglights on the base and S models? Also it appears that the rear lockers are free now if you don't go with the offroad pack... (might be a bug, hope not :P)
Thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it. I’m warrantied up with factory and extended warranty. Personally, I would have loved to have the DLR option on my S model this year. I was able to score the fog lights and to tell you the truth, the headlights on her are well done. I live in the outskirts and I get plenty of light on the trail. She’s a keeper and I’m looking to put some miles on her.
Nice. 1 extra sub ⭐️ I just got a new RRS autobiography. Love the vid and enthusiasm man. ‘Who can say I’m gonna do a 3 inch lift” 🤣🙌🏽 Encore. More vids pls👍🏽
It’s definitely not on the site. I was only joking. My Dad used to say “ It must have been made on a Friday before the 5 o’clock whistle,” to things that would not last. To the things that were made well he’d joke and say “ Now this was clearly made on a Monday.”
Congrats. I'm leasing a Q5 now with 9 months left and Defender is on my top 5 list for possible vehicles. Yea keep me posted on the chicks thing. Good luck with that. Problem is if it brings me a chick I probably wouldn't be able to make the payments anymore. Another divorce and forget about JLR I'll probably end up driving a Ford focus to the grave.
I traded a Q3 and i don’t regret it at all. Audi the brand is awesome but the dealership experience here in San Antonio is SHITTY!! The worst I’ve ever had to deal with. “Audi Dominion” on blast. My Land Rover dealership “LR of Boerne” has been the best! It’s nice to be treated with some hospitality. Update: No ladies yet. 🤷🏽♂️
@@valordefender8241 Yea this Audi dealer is bit shady too. I'm in NY state near Lake Ontario, I'm thinking all dealers are shady to some extent. My 2015 Q3 was decent, a little too small for me but I bought it anyway and when I went into the Q5 lease I had 8k in trade equity built up with the Q3 so that car worked out good as far as a purchase goes. I put half the equity on the Q5 and pocketed the rest. The 2018 Q5 is my first ever lease and I'd much prefer to buy mostly because due to my job I'm like a 15k per year mileage guy. What has saved me honestly on the mileage has been this covid working from home thing, I'm in IT so I can do most of it from home. Now I'm tracking to be right about 45k at lease end so I shouldn't get hurt on any overage. There's only one Land Rover dealer here in my city and dealer-wise I have no idea how good they are but the vehicles interest me, even the Jags. First I thought given my budget the disco sport was for me, then I kind of switched into looking at the Evoque and now given that I'm tall with long legs and haven't really been 100% comfortable in any vehicle since I was driving a rusted out Ford cargo Van in the 90s I'm thinking the Defender's seating position would really be ideal. So I started building it out on the website, unfortunately no matter what I do it seems to get up close to 60k, that's even with the two-door 90 and a 4cyl engine. I'd prefer the 6cyl but the price climbs really fast with options, I notice that trend on all of their models, more so than other brands, even Mercedes seems like the options don't add up as fast. What's the % of MSRP for the residual on the Defender if you don't mind me asking? Residual is going to make a huge difference given the budget I have to work with.
I went with the 4 banger S model for the same reasons, “MyBudget.” When it was all said and done, plus a November $1k off MSRP LR incentive. I walked out paying $68k including taxes and fees. Fortunately I didn’t carry over any negative equity from my Q3 trade. The MSRP on mine was $65k (approx.) with all the options I wanted. I hope that answers your question. BTW: I’m editing a video now “1 month review” I’ll be including everything on the sticker. Like all the options I added and standard equipment.
Bro your content is very good but in between you start beating round the bush and this according to me could help you in decreasing your growth rate 👍👍👍😇😇
If you are thinking of buying one of these please please please watch the TFL Defender videos. They are on their 3rd after one had a failed engine and camera system after 167 miles and the next was damaged beyond repair by JLR while they were trying to fit a winch. They managed to cut through a load of cables that can't be repaired! If you want a defender, go buy a real pre 2016 one. This is just a discovery with a defender badge.
Thank you for the heads up. It’s really unfortunate TFL had this happen to them. I thought the same after watching their videos. I’m glad to see they finally received a third one that hopefully is as great as mine is. I happen to test out a new discovery and I have to disagree with you on that. I’m fortunate to say I own a New Defender and with all due respect to your opinion and Discovery owners it’s nothing like a Defender. The Defender is a New Defender. 👍🏽
Making a decision based on what happened to one person/vehicle out of how many have been made is idiotic. What happens to tfl is bad luck, they have had nothing jut issues with their cars this year.
@@DrivenHard Actually, on the highway the disco 5 and the new defender actually drives quite similarly. Defender is more commanding. Offroad though have no idea...
You don't know if they cut through loads of cables, no one knows exactly what happened. What we know is that the dealership made a mistake installing the wiring of the winch and bricked the car, that is all. Did they screw up? Sure, but we don't know exactly what happened. My guess is they cut the wrong one wiring in the fuse box because JLR likes to switch wires from the UK version to the US version, and the dealership probably didn't truly read the instructions. (iywmo) the installer should have been fired if not heavily reprimanded for making such a mistake like that as this has tarnished any bit of reputation that JLR had left with the Defender and potential customers.
