This is an 'isolated' drill.
What is the scenario?
You are surrounded by not one, not two, not three but four 'simultaneous' attackers who are all attacking you at the 'same time'!
This is a more realistic multiple attacker approach than only having the attackers come at you one at a time. This way, you effectively have 'eight' punches flying at you at once.
As you can appreciate, this is a nightmare of a situation to deal with.
What is the 'concept' being taught here?
The concept is - is it possible to both Defend and Attack at the same time in such a scenario?
The answer is 'yes'...... and this is exactly what Defence Lab's hand-to-hand combat system is all about...... the DNA (Defence and Attack) Fight Science Program.
What is the drill?
Stand in the middle with all four attackers surrounding you and only use our 'Shapes' to both cover the head and attack back with the elbows at the 'same time'..... no punches, no kicks, no taking the back etc..... only Shapes!
We practised this 'isolated' drill with the attackers first holding pads for the person in the middle to hit with the elbows..... and then with the attackers wearing gloves to simulate actual incoming punches to defend against also.
As you can see, covering your head 'and' simultaneously attacking back is a possibility with the right training and understanding!
Despite the lengthy explanation, undoubtedly there will be some who will still not understand what is happening here...... for those we simply ask them to keep in mind the following:
1. That this is an 'isolated' drill with very limited techniques allowed and in a very specific scenario. It is designed to build certain attributes.
2. Don't fall into the trap of comparing this to Sport Combat which is 'totally' different. Many people still do this not realising the countless differences between Sport Combat and Reality Based Self Defence.

I like the idea using elbow with body movement but most attackers kick. where is kick defence?

Have to respectfully disagree. Most attackers punch and not kick. Most attackers don't even know how to punch properly, let alone kick. But of course, it's important to have kick defence in case someone does kick, and we do certainly have it. Just not shown in this specific drill. 👍🏼 Appreciate your comment my friend!
