I'm feeling that kyuhyun was crying and his voice was shaking and this is my first to see kyuhyun do effort for high note. His face was red as he take of the mask he must have bad memories while rehearsaling on this song and must have alot of courage to perform it. Noticed he didn’t sing the part “I don’t want to live..” This song in general makes me very emotional but this performance really hit me hard. I’m so proud of Kyu and I’m sure Jjong is too. Even though I am not a big K-Pop fan, its always hard to hear, that people who seem to have everything (fame, money, friends) commited suicide. It shows, that you still can be unhappy, even with money and fame. I didnt even know him, but I still felt sad when my ex friend told me.

@@Azra_Lee Kenzie wrote the lyrics, but I agree this song was written for Jonghyun they chose him to sing it, because he had the vocals to do justice to a very difficult song, you have to read Kenzie's book. Kyunhyun says after he takes off his mask that he sang this song in particular to Jonghyun, so there is no argument, Kyu wasn't singing to anyone else, not even to Alejandro Sanz, whom I am a fan, but to Jonghyun, whom I love too, Kyunhyun says after the mask with tears I sang this on TV today because it was my little brother's song and I wanted to sing something to him, I know he will be happy with it. and he cried...
@@Azra_Lee "Know-it-all" fans are annoying and only show their ignorance, always is the same saying that Jonghyun made the song but it's Alejandros Sanz, then the argument is that he wrote the lyrics but Kenzie adapted them to korean, the only thing he did was to sing it. A great interpretation by the way but you aren't allowed to get angry by straight facts.
We as fans/fellow sm stans were really affected by that incident, but I can't even begin to imagine how their friends that were so used to seeing him daily, spent time as trainees, shared lives and suffering as idols together really felt. Like Kyuhyun said “I, as the hyung, could've approach him more and express my heart to him more” like that heavy weight that you, who were close to that person, you could've done so much more to help that person. Why couldn't be I more present? Maybe this wouldn't have happened. But, it still happened and it was no ones fault, not even Jjongs. If you are going through a hard time, remember there is still hope, you deserve everything good in this world and if you only had energy to breathe and exist today, we are proud of you, you don't need to do anything to deserved to be loved, you have worked hard and it's not your fault. You matter, and you have a purpose here on earth. And if you have a friend that its going through this, just being around, being patient and kind its enough, if you dont know how to help or what to do, just be present. Every stage GenieKyu did was chosen for a reason, every arrangement was beautiful and showed different feelings. From paying homage to his seniors and favorite singers to showing a wide range of emotions from ballads to pop, Kyu went out on every stage to tell something. But I think out of all his stages, he knew what he wanted to sing when it was time for him to give up his reign as king. As he said at the end, even just once he wanted to sing for Jonghyun on a broadcast stage, to make him proud. To tell him his regrets but also to tell him he will always remember him as a singer, an artist, a friend. He first sang Breathe when he came to KOMS, even then if he didn’t proceed to win I think he would have been satisfied just to be able to honor Jjong. I believe he would have said the same thing if he lost then and were asked why he sang Breathe. Now, to end his reign, he went back. It’s beautiful, powerful, and incredibly moving. So so proud of him. Indeed, Jonghyun, you did well :,)

As it's been mentioned, this is Kyuhyun from Super Junior, one of the best (IMO the best) idol vocalists in Korea. He performed many songs in this show and they are all worth the listen: I don't Love You, Breath, Breathe, Memory of the Wind, Energetic, Uphill and this song. His solo songs are amazing (At Gwanhwamun, Million pieces, Still, Inoo, etc) but he has a very special way of making every cover his own. Here are a few suggestions: Fate (with Lee SunHee), Masquerade, Etude of a Memory, Wildflower, Too Much. He also has a very solid career as a musical actor, I suggest you check out Although I loved you, I want to Escape my destiny and why can't you love me.

Why do i get the feeling that kyuhyun lost this time is already planned by him and the staff, also already known by some of the panelist and other contestants? Just like when kyuhyun was asked by the MC about how his feeling to saw both final contestant he said " it doesnt feel like i'm defending the throne, im here just to give a challenge". And before, the comicbook hero even ask him first "are you gonna lose to me?" Seems like he know that genie reign as a king will end that day to either both of the new finalist. Also when kyuhyun open his mask he looks so relieve and happy as if he really wanted this to happened.hahaha I understand maybe it's for the suju comeback and all the tight schedule of other program such as run wav,love at first song, njttw etc. But i will really miss him as a genie who made people in awe and cry on this show through his songs. NCT's grass Message wise it was nice! Singing wise i think he used too much vibrato / kind of crescendo where he starts quiet and gets louder on each line. His low notes were fine but he struggled for his high notes. His singing isnt the best but ik thats not what matters here much. He sounded a bit like kihyun when he did this cover which wasnt good.
@@sirsnow371 I guess that's perhaps bc he wanted to sing it in the original key as a tribute to Jonghyun? Kyuhyun is easily kpop's best or at least top 2 or 3 vocalist, if he re-arranged the song slightly he would've dominated it but he wanted to keep it a tribute cover. However that aside, I still don't understand how one would push the dislike button because the singing wasn't the best? It's not like disliking/liking affected the results he had in the show. I guess that's just me but I've rarely ever disliked a vid. Only done so when it's about something very bad and even then I'd feel bad for the effort put into the making (unless it genuinely sucks; then, no regrets). Here as you said, you liked the message (which was Kyuhyun's n°1 goal) and it's not like the singing was bad, so I just don't get it lmao. Words are not enough to describe this performance. From the moment he was crowned King on the show, I've been wanting him sing either 'Y Si Fuera Ella' or 'Diphylleia Grayi' and I literally started shaking when I realised that he was actually singing 'Y Si Fuera Ella'. From the moment he starts singing till the end of his performance, I keep crying non-stop no matter how many times I've listened to it since yesterday. Kyuhyun's singing was filled with so much emotion; pain, sadness, regret, longing...such a magnificent tribute stage for Jonghyun. This is by far his best performance on KOMS and one of his best in general! Kyuhyun, thank you for choosing this song! Thank you for being brave and strong enough to share some of your memories with Jonghyun! Even though, I don't mind he lost, I still think this particular performance was better than Handsome Guy's (he is undeniably good, but this performance is on a whole other level). Can't believe kyu didn't win with this kind of overwhelmingly impressive performance. To be honest, this performance is better than Uphill and Energetic. I'm not against the new king, I mean he's good too but in my opinion his performance is not as great as kyu. I'm not saying this because I'm a suju fan, I just think that the korean audience voted for him because they prefer to listen to popular songs like Hug Me instead of remake songs like Y Si Fuera Ella. Kyu was brave enough to sing this kind of song to honor jonghyun, I bet he didn't even think of winning. Kudos to him! He still did a great job and he was able to perform like a musical actor in his last performance. Well, I guess in the end he has no choice but to lose because he'll be busy for suju's comeback. It had been a while since I last listened to Kyuhyun so I don’t why this video was in my recommendations, however, after 30 seconds or so I immediately knew it was him, those cleans vocals, that tasteful vibrato, the beautiful color of his voice... I don’t know why I let so much time go by without listening to him when he’s clearly one of the best singers I’ve listened to. Won’t let that happen again though.

Son Seungyeon sang this song as her defense and showed her vocal prowess and emotional interpretation to us, which was great. But Kyuhyun on the other hand showed us not just vocals, interpretation, but also the sincerity and justice of singing a song sung by a beloved friend in the industry. You did well Kyuhyun.
