This is why I love American football. Most casual fans don't pay attention to these details within the game. It's a team sport but within the game itself are individual one on one battles.
This was very helpful because I was very confused by techniques. When I hear technique I think of some sort of method, or mixed up with the stance of the lineman. No, technique is really a physical lineup position. Thanks for clearing that up.
William, not sure what's going on when you're attempting to play the video, but I checked it out as soon as I read your comment and it played all the way through for me. If anyone else has issues with the playback of this video, please let me know, as I may have to re-upload the video. Sorry for the complications, but I appreciate the information/feedback!
Interesting, we just used gap numbers left are even, right odds (mirror of offense). Then our play would determine our line up. My coaches played for usc back in the 60’s
Depends on the number of down lineman you have on either side of the center. Whichever side has more is the strong side. If it’s the same amount on either side it’s called a balanced line. Weak side means there’s less bodies and you’re “outnumbered” on that side. Nothing to do with the QB throwing arm lol
