Hello everyone! I have a quick update based on a few of your comments. Watch the video version here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-07lcbK5NGX4.html I made this video several years ago using the sources that I cited in the description. They’re not perfect, and neither am I, so I wanted to address a few discrepancies in the video. First of all, I’m aware that since making this video, the term “Bisexual” has become much broader, and the term still varies from person to person. Some people still use it to mean attracted to both men and women, but many others use it to mean attracted to multiple genders, not just cis men and women, but trans and non-binary people as well. Either way, the term Bisexual has grown to be broader than the word itself might suggest. To clarify, “Bisexual” is when someone is attracted to someone of their own sex or gender and other sexes or genders. “Pansexual” is when someone is attracted to others regardless of sex or gender. Second, I apologize for leaving out “Aromantic,” or people who experience little or no romantic attraction for others. That should have been the third “A”: Asexual, Agender, and Aromantic. And I know there are many other terms I didn’t include in this video that have since been added to the LGBT Alphabet. That’s the nice thing about terms like “Queer” and "LGBT+”: they include ALL terms related to gender and sexuality, even the ones I missed! Finally, in regard to “Ally,” whether or not that term is officially included in the LGBT+ alphabet, I want to make it clear that this channel is made in part by and for Allies. I would not be where I am today without the support I’ve had from numerous Cis-Het Allies, and I want this channel to be a space for them too, especially because many closeted LGBT+ people identify as Allies before officially coming out. I was an Ally for years before I came out! Either way, I believe it's an important term for people to know, and that’s why I included it in the first place. All of these terms change and evolve over time, so 10 or 20 years from now, this video might be obsolete, and that’s totally ok! I hope it can still serve as a tool for learning and starting conversations. Thank you all for watching and keeping me accountable. I love making these videos and want them to be the best they can be, so I appreciate your input. Please keep watching and letting me know when I miss something. Mistakes are how we learn! Love you all!
This is just my opinion, but, you can have yours. I think that God made us to love the opposite gender. Like Girl x Boy. Thats just my opinion. If you want me to teach you about Jesus and your TRUE SAVIOR!!!! Then just tell me🥰 But hey, you can love who you love and I won’t judge. 👍❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎ALL ARE LOVED BY Jesus!! 🙏🙏🙏
@@Whitiscoolio Hey not everyone believes in god. And its not really an opinion its science, your sexuality is not a choice . But in the bible it never states homosexuality is wrong you should study it more, maybe don't study the one you get off amazon but study the one that wasn't edited in the 1940's. The actual bible says pedophilia is a sin not homosexuality.
Bisexual has not broadened since this video was made, it has actually always included all genders, as noted in the Bisexual Manifesto from 1990. Bisexual+ is an umbrella term for anyone who is attracted to more than one gender, which includes pansexuals. There are also many bisexuals who are attracted to people regardless of gender.
Actually, I'm sorry to say that, but right now (the 12th of December 2020 at 5:48 PM) it is, totally, out of date even discriminatory to say LGBTQ+ community. In fact, you MUST say LGBTQIAFDRH Sk (Skoliosexual) Sa (Sapiosexual) Bis (Bispirituel) Ag (Agenre) CisGf (Gender fluid) Al (Allosexual) N-B (Non-Binary) Aro (Aromantic) 2 +++ x +. Of course, this same name will, obviously, be completely obsolete in 6 months, 3 weeks, 5 days and 6 hours. Best regards. PS : so sorry, I’ve just realised that I forgot the Straight allies. All my apologies for all the people who I deeply hurt because of my unforgivable mistake.
@@Tristan.Suba.44 Considering cishet allies aren't apart of the community, they don't need to be included. Allosexuals/alloromantics aren't apart of the community either cause they're considered the "norm." Allo is the opposite of asexual or aromantic.
@@madijennings7396 So sorry. Everything’s so perfectly clear and simple in term of sexuality in the western world now that I should have understood that by myself easily. How dumb I am !!!
@@Tristan.Suba.44 I mean, I wasn't calling you dumb. I was just explaining, so you could understand better (And yes, I know you're being sarcastic). Just trying my best to explain things as someone who studies psychology and is apart of the community myself 🤷♀️
Daughter 1: Dad I need to tell you something Dad: Sure honey what is it? Daughter 1: I am lesbian Dad: Oh I am surprised you cam out this way don't worry I'll be there to support you Daughter 2: Oh dad I am lesbian too! Dad: Oh well I'll be there to support you both then! Daughter 3: Dad I am lesbian too... Dad: Oh come on! Does anyone like boys? Son: I do! Hope you get the joke lmao 😂
I felt like I was straight before. Then I discovered the term 'heteroflexible', which means a person who is mostly straight, but sometimes has feelings towards the same gender, other genders, or non-binary people (it is not the same as bisexuality or sometimes pansexuality). Hopefully this cleared a couple of things up for you 🏳️🌈😃😊 (I identify as a heteroflexible person :D) Edit: lmao I was questioning I'm bisexual now but I can still help out if y'all are confused 😊
first I was a lesbian then I kept being a lesbian then I kept kept being a lesbian and now I'm a lesbian. Wow, I learned so much about you, and the world, and everyone and everything, by that. How illuminating. By, the way, I'm not straight, so if you wanna whine and tell me I'm being "discriminatory" you can go fuck yourself :) you're not special and if the most interesting thing about you is your sexual orientation, then you must be a very sad, sad lesbian. maybe read a book, talk a walk by the ocean, ponder life for a few years and come back to me when you actually have something to say about yourself.
Your in the same boat as me .... But my friend is gay and she has a crush on me and I don't know what to say back because I'm questioning my sexuality. I'm always a Ally though.
AJ llamachickenparty maybe you’re bi- curious sorry I don’t really know the terms but I heard it from my best friend’s brother he said he was “pan-curious” so I guess maybe you’re that? And I’m pretty sure (if it’s a term) you would know what curious would mean in this context
*Pansexual jokes:* I didn't come out of the closet, I came out of the pantry. I am a pansexual and a good cook. I like to watch PANime. I like PANdas. These jokes are so bad, you should hit me across the head with a PAN. _I'll stop here_
*Before watching this* : Friend: What is the full LGBTQ+ name? Me: Umm... lgbtq... um.... *AFTER* friend: okay, what’s the lgbtq full name? Me: LGBTQQIAAP.... 2S!
I respect the time and effort taken into this, but the A in lgbtq+ is not for ally. It is for agender, asexual, aromantic. And those alone, I respect that others have their own opinions on the topic but that is just a bit incorrect and inaccurate if you're trying to educate people on the community. Our community is for people who are discriminated against and not accepted. Such as transgender people. People who aren't straight. Etc. Allies don't go through any of that regarding their identity, therefore they are not part of the acronym, lgbtqia+, unless they directly identify as a legitimate part of it. (Not Ally) I am not here to start anything but, please do more looking into that specific section as a lot of us don't agree with "Ally" being part of the acronym.
I’ve been looking for this comment. It’s true, because while we love and appreciate our lovely allies, they are not a part of the community because they have not faced the same discrimination that we have. However, that doesn’t mean that allies cannot participate in events like Pride! We love you for your support! ❤️❤️❤️
@@deadaccount4893 To be honest, there are more than just two genders X3 It just takes millions of research squashed into a bargraph or pictograph before you can truly understand it X3
@@GoldenHyac1nth Lol the joke with my friends is that I'm the gayest yet straightest person. They call me the 'straight-gay' because no one believes I'm heterosexual
Dymphna Guzman Yeah, but it‘s in the LGBTQ+ Alphabet (btw. what is H? I don‘t know it.), so even if you aren‘t LGBTQ+ you are LGBTQ+. Except if you‘re an ass or for some weird reason don‘t support humans.
daughter 1: dad, I’m a lesbian dad: okayyy daughter 2: I’m a lesbian dad: ..... daughter 3: I’m a lesbian dad: does anyone in this house like boys? son: I do
I'm very surprised, I actually thought there would be more love and support in the comments, if you dont agree with it, then thats your business. seriously though, religious people, I too am religious, but I am a part of the lgbtq community. I'm not saying you have you be a part of the lgbtq community, what I am saying is you should come to terms with what you believe, and what you are saying. all this negitivity, is it really needed? are you throughly benefiting yourself and the environment around you by spreading hate towards a noble and just cause? really think about this, why should lgbtq be wrong? are you hurting someone? are you stealing? are you killing? no. those are all rightfully persecuted things, so what is there wrong with being gay? what is there wrong with being trans, or nonbinary? and before you respond with 'read this page in the bible' you should know I read my bible, I don't need your highlight. society is one fucked up cookie, if you ask me.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay etc. The problem is how society has to label groups of people and seperate the masses ,The problem is in creating special rights and privelages for the few , The problem is that for the most part a serious issue is being treated as a fad . People are being manipulated for political gains and political distraction. We shoulsd all have equal rights and groups like these act as a muzzle on the people.
The problem is the LGBTQ community (and yes that's the most I will say) was meant to be a group of community. With all these acronyms, it further puts people into groups. I personally believe that it should stop after T, but whatever.... The community honestly needs to go back to its roots.
I'm a straight, white-asian mix..... Oh wait, Sorry :/. I forgot no one gives a shit. edit(one year later)-My dumbass was wrong. In an ideal world No one would give a shit.
Natisawizard 360 I identify as straight, though I can't say that I have questioned myself before. But hearing that someone who supports gay rights (like myself) can be part of the LGBTQ+ community as an "Ally", then I'm glad to be a part.😊
I was homophobic and straight since i learnt what it was until highschool then i became a ally then i started to question myself. And i think im bisexual now and im proud of it 😍my boyfriend dont mind. Well he wouldnt bc rn we broke up bc he lied to me about some big stuff ;~;
Slug GaMiNg 1. You need to fix your comment’s structure. 2. “Bisexual” means being attracted to both males and females. Just because they are dating someone of the opposite sex doesn’t mean anything.
@@indeermint No, in order to be in the LGBT community you must experience same gender attraction or have gender dysphoria. Heterosexual is being attracted to your opposite gender. So no, they arent LGBT.
The full acronym in my head (everyone has a different one) is LGBTQIAPDHS2. There are so many terms that people use to describe themselves. You shouldnt feel pressured to memorize all of them, I have to agree, it is a lot.
I fall more into bi but I with u I think I’m pan this cunfuzed me at first but then I realized it didn’t matter either way im part of the lgbt 🏳️🌈 community and that’s all that matters to me and after writing this I’m pretty sure I’m pan so what ever
Holy shoot- I just figured our where I fit. I'm two spirit 0.0. Holy crap I've been debating what I am for 2 years, thanks for the help cause I didn't know that existed 😂 Edit: I made this not knowing what two spirit was at the time, I was in no way intending to culturally appropriate. I apologize for my actions against the culture this term comes from.
“two sprit” is basically non-binary when people do not confirm as male or female and use they/them pronouns (I’m not saying your not two spirt it’s just what the term is commonly known as being non binary)
Belonging in the group is really more of a choice really it’s the choice of fighting for freedom or not stand up for your self but what ever you choose we the lgbtq+ community will support you either way
i refer to "the gay peeps" as "members of the LGBTQ-MUNITY" cuz WE ALL FAMILY HERE LETS BE REAL edit: and also is simpler to say and encompasses all of the gay and gender
Omg I'm actually going to cry. I thought I was bi but then I heard of "asexual" and didn't know what it meant and now I know I am Asexual I'm so happy!!
Nistrexa You don't know what you just said. here, let me explain what you just said to you. "Thanks for telling people what they are. they aren't allowed to figure it out themselves because people pressure them into being something. " Yeah. you people pressure people to be something you like. You're homophobic. you are the definition of homophobic. Please, Notice that.
Ally is actually not part of the LGBTQ+ community as they are not queer or genderqueer. The things in the acronym that start with A might include asexual, aromantic, agender, etc. But not ally.
Moira Straga aw maaan i want to be part of the lgbtq+ community somehow(i mean support it bc im straight) and i thought for a day like "YES I CAN BE SOMETHING" but no):
I'm really sorry to hear that, but you have the strength to be the person you are no matter what other people say. It's super not fun having people you know and or care about spreading negativity, but know you are powerful and capable of spreading happiness and love. You have the right to be happy, and you are capable of adding more positivity and making a difference in the world. I hope you have absolute happiness and things get better with your family.
Hey emo people M C R I'm so sorry. But you tell them your sexuality and if they are dicks about it fuck them. They won't get to have you in their life . You WILL find good people who support you so don't worry and I know it won't always be easy but it's gonna be OK
Did you know that in the trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan, Apollo is bisexual? I don’t know why I said that, I just can’t wait for the burning maze to come out on May first! OK bye I love Percy Jackson!
yASSSS I'm SO bloody exicited!!! Ricks books are the reason I got into LGBTQ+ and learning bout stuff like this!!!!!!! That's one of the reasons I love Rick, cause before he included things like solangelo *MY FRIGGIN OTP!!!* I was preetty much a homphobe. Now I consider myself an Ally
It's been a few years since you posted this video. I sincerely hope you've since learned that the second A is not 'Ally'. As an aromantic grey-ace, I sincerely hope you have done better. To give a group of cis/straight people a letter just because they're decent human beings? No. Not being an asshole is a choice, whereas all the other letters represent traits people can't just choose. Also, you don't get to erase an orientation in the process of patting the non-assholes on the back. Not cool. At least edit the description to reflect the facts.
@Stefan Jankovic we are not insane. we don't have romantic attractions. We can still love people platoniclly and still love things like ice-cream and other stuff.
I'm a proud pansexual. I believe that loving someone is not because of society choose for, what they thought was the 'right' and 'should', or because of looks, age, race and even gender. Love is love. you can't control yourself loving someone because it was 'must'. It's your life not them, it's not their life to choose who's to love, to be who you are, to your happiness and future. As long as you're not hurting anyone and even yourself, and you're happy. If you have mistake, it's yours not theirs. Remember, we only live once, don't waste it.
I don't think ally should be in there it's not really a part of lgbtq just someone who supports them. Soo in an ideal world EVERYONE is in the lgbtq+ community. Edit: I hope that makes sense
I think I'm a ally? I'm not sure though. But this did help me better understand people and what it means! Thank you for helping me clear up my understanding!😊😉😋
Even tho im a kid i find this very useful and educational i thought i was gay because i like boys and girls but i found the term 'pansexual and bisexual' so its good to know that im not gay because my friends always bully me and call me gay for liking boys and girls. Edit : Thank you so much for the appreciation.
SparksMasterVII wow. You need to get some new friends. Bullying someone for sexual preference is so very wrong. Find someone else who's in the LGBT community to hang out with. And stand together.
The only one I didn’t know was 2S. Very interesting video! I’m a panromantic asexual and I definitely enjoyed this. I’ll definitely share this with others
Yes, you're right! Obviously there are letters I missed in this short video, but that doesn't mean they should be excluded or left out. We're all one big family!
I think it might be part of the asexual umbrella. Like the ace umbrella splits in two: sexuality and romanticism, and the same is for all the other sexualities...
Then we would respect it, because we, unlike most of you, do know respect. We don't share your opinion, but we respect, 'cause that's what decent people haves to do :)
GalaxyOfNeon ._. No they can’t. Listen I in no means condone aggression against Trans/whatever people simply on the basis of what they “identify” as. But there are only 2 genders and it is a fact.
I literally cried after this video, thank you so so much for making this, I am now a few steps closer to finding my identity❤💙💚💛💜🖤 Happy Pride everybody!!
What is happening with these replies? ;-; I just wanted to say that I’m really happy you got closer to finding your identity! Wish you the best of luck and love in life! Happy pride to you! Sending you all the love and support!☺️☀️💗🏳️🌈
I told my friend I’m gay and she said after that “when your talking to a bad boy I will push you to them” I said I’m mostly into people who are not bad boys She said after that “still gonna push you though” I was scared
e, personally as a lesbian feel like this taught a huge lesson. to all you homophobics, heres a message: What makes you think that people apart of the LGBTQ+ community wanted to? SEXUALITY IS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT A CHOICE. Do you think that people in the LGBTQ+ family wanna be harrased? Do you think that people in the LGBTQ+ family wanna be bullied everyday? Do you think that little kids coming out that later get abandoned by there parents are happy with there life? Do you not think about the people you hang out with might be in the family, but you just dont know? DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT EVERYDAY SOME FROM THE LGBTQ+ FAMILY COMMITS SUICIDE BECAUSE NOBODY ACCEPTS THEM?? Exactly. So grow up, stop causing us to commit suicide. It hurts. Thanks you. - Stranger. (Written by me)
Same but the difference is I’m a more mature than normal 13 year old boy and I already know my sexuality I know for a fact I’m pan because heart is what I look for not looks of any kind but I kinda mix in with bi because I only like boys and girls sorry to all mixed genders once again sorry I still support you and appreciate you as well and damn are lesbian couples adorable
My BFF is pansexual and when she told me, I was shocked. But I decided that I will support her with it and I will always be here friend no matter what! :D
Aren't there a bunch of other categories? (Such as demisexual). I don't know but anyway, I found this video really awesome!! Thanks for helping me understand LGBTQ+ better!
Demisexual it's not in the acronym because it's part of the asexual spectrum, I mean that demisexuals are integrated under the ace umbrella as well as asexuals and graysexuals.
Many caterpillars are nocturnal. For example, the "cutworms" (of the Noctuidae family) hide at the base of plants during the day and only feed at night.
