It's amazing to watch w3sp's runs, but he was disqualified as a probable cheater. Check out campinggaz, for sheer insanity of scripted quake movement possibilities, lol.
This isn't a script... the only scripts he used iirc was a +moveup;wait;-moveup as a jump key instead of just +moveup, and also had m_yawspeed values that somehow worked out with everything else making his strafe jumps the max possible the game could produce. You can't make a script that turns all of these mouse angles for you, it would be just way too many lines long.
I got back to defrag in September 2018, and now I’m sure this isnt scripted, it’s seems wesp was not even trying to use gb. Inder and W00dy beat him on this map
@@CharlonTank I think the fact that there are people who beat this record now shows that w3sp most likely wasn't scripting this either. He just was way ahead of his time and managed to do things in just a couple years that took others a decade to accomplish. Back then this was so outstanding that everyone thought it couldn't be legit. Nowadays it is not even the best anymore.
No one "beat it" because not everyone that plays defrag cares about exposure. Just because a video or demo doesn't exist doesn't mean there is (or mabye a better term "were") people, that in fact beat it. I can't speak for the present because barely anyone plays anymore, unless you want to count quake live.
Good. Quake live is horrible. Anyways I just wanted to make a point, that this game's skill ceiling is so high that there is really no "best" player. Sorry for being so abrasive, i'm just very passionate about this game.
