This is a Gleeified version. I'm sure she could bring different aspects to it in a stage performance. I've seen her on Broadway and she's actually a great actress.
I’m begging they cast Brendon Urie as Fiyero!! Just listen to As long as you’re mine (the Norbert Butz part) and then listen to Brendon’s Soul of a Man. The way they belt is almost the same
Just can't stop playing this. All I'm going say this is the most beautiful rendition ever. Whoever cast the part of Elphaba has to pick her she not only the best voice for the part but acts very well. If it's not Lea I not going pay to go see the movie. For those that say she too cutey for the part they have probably only seen her in Glee.
Lea was vocally trained on Broadway and has the ability to do different sounds. So many performances I've watched of her swearing I was watching an actual Broadway performer. Go search her cover of "My Man" live
Something has changed within me, something is not the same I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game Too late for second-guessing, too late to go back to sleep It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leap... It's time to try defying gravity (Try defying gravity) I think I'll try defying gravity (I'll try defying gravity) Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity (Goodbye, I'm defying gravity) And you won't bring me down (And you won't bring me down) I'm through accepting limits 'cause someone says they're so Some things I cannot change, but 'til I try, I'll never know Too long I've been afraid of... ...Losing love, I guess I've lost Well, if that's love, it comes at much too high a cost! I'd sooner buy defying gravity Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity I think I'll try defying gravity And you won't bring me down I'd sooner buy defying gravity Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity I think I'll try defying gravity And you won't bring me down Bring me down Ohhh...
this is great! 💗 don't expect her to sound just like Idina or be better. She didn't play the role so obviously she doesn't sound the same. She didn't practice as much as Idina did for this role. they're both amazing though. :)
I definitely couldn't see her as Elphie. Her voice just sounds too cute, as well as her appearance. Also, Elphaba is also supposed to have an element of intimidation. She definitely isn't scary.
a few glee cast members could say that she's a pretty scary 😂😂😂 although she's the best singer ever for this song ( in my opinion), her mix is just like melted butter.... perfect
Well considering they are essentially two different songs, you won't get the same vibe from the two, if you did the song would be giving out the wrong feeling
Idina's version is the full version, that has a lot more belting and the orchestration is designed to build up to the climax of the song. This version was meant to be an audition so it's made a lot shorter and simpler. In that aspect their performances are even more different but I love both the same. Each version has their own style.
Lea>>> Idina. Idina strains when she sings, especially as she gets older (no offense in any way, I know she's a Broadway legend. But she spreads too much when she sings and it's very unhealthy.)
hello people, as they will know in 2019 the wicked movie will be made and in the official twitter they ask who they believe for the main role and some ask Lea, it would be good if the one who has twitter mentions it, here is the accounthttps: //mobile.twitter .com / wicked_movie? lang = en
Apparently an unpopular opinion... but I don't like Idina Menzel's voice. Of course she's a great singer, but there's a sharpness in her voice that I just don't like...
Julia Stetter Actually, Lea is the one with the sharp voice (seriously, some of those high notes Lea hits are downright painful). Idina is phenomenal. To each her own, though. 😂
We share the same sentiments. I find Idina very throaty when she sings. I don't know really since I am not a singer like them but to me she sounds like she gets her voice from her throat then shifts to her diaphragm when she belts. Again I do not sing, that's just me. I'm not trying to hate on anyone who loves her.
