I totally relate to you. I'm right there with you. Except our boy had an accident

A few years back that kept him from using one of his hind legs. Back then we did steroids and he started walking again after about 2 to 3 weeks and had continued to improve... all to the amazement of our vet. He was going up and down stairs a couple months later. Happy boy overall. Now that was in 2020. Now we moved and we had 3 dogs, 12, 11, and our old boy who is now 14. We lost 2 of our pack this year to cancer. Broke my heart. And I keep praying that our old boy is not gonna follow them this year... I can't handle losing all of them in the same year. Anyways, we have noticed that he's having a tougher time walking every day. We put him back on joint supplements and it was ok for a little while there but he's now getting worse and worse. He barely can walk at all in his hind end. A few steps sometimes here and there and then he's down. We help him with a carry vest until we can hopefully find a wheelchair or some sorta wonder drug to help him. He's still loving his dinner which we have changed to partial baked, raw and boiled fresh veggies and meat. We give him a bladder support supplement, multivitamin and joint supplement. He loves to eat but he's really having a tough time. I feel the same way, if he tells me he doesnt want anymore, I'll let him go. But I just can't give up on him yet. Not while he's so happy eating and still gets excited to see us. The walking part is... well... I'm sad for him but we dont mind helping him. He's helped us thru so Many tough experiences and ill be damned if I don't pay him back for that. And at 14 that's already a proud age for a gsd husky. It's odd how our oldest outlived the younger ones. I do feel tho that once the pack alpha goes... and they're all close to age... they all go one after another... sure seems to be the case for ours. I truly hate that dogs don't get older. Because they are the most deserving animals and really should be able to get older than they do. It's just not fair.
