Haunted by memories of her recent sexual assault, Paige is desperately trying to appear normal. A girl band contest sounds like a great distraction. Terri wants to reunite PMS-including Ashley. Paige refuses, and recruits Hazel instead. After a disastrous rehearsal with Hazel’s belt voice and Terri’s terrible lyrics, Paige takes action and invites Ashley to rejoin the band. Paige’s pain resurfaces when Ash shows up the next day with a new song - inspired by rape. Paige can’t bear listening to it and walks out during rehearsal. When Ashley confronts her, Paige reveals her secret.
On the day of competition Hazel can’t sing- to everyone’s relief. But everything begins to fall apart when Paige spots Dean in the audience. She's paralyzed with fear. Turning to Ashley, she finds the strength to take the mic and begins to sing the rape lyrics. Although the band doesn’t win the contest, Paige now has the courage to seek professional help.
In a presentation, Liberty imitates JT in front of the entire Media Immersion class - but JT does not find it funny. Their bickering escalates until Liberty proves she's no goody-two-shoes by writing graffiti on JT’s locker! JT is caught “red-handed” and faces serious consequences until a guilt-ridden, Liberty confesses. By facing up to each other’s actions the two discover that the other person isn’t so ‘bad’ after all.
