Well done and thank you! All the ship building tutorials seem to be about exterior aesthetics. Thank you for showing us what the inside of these modules look like!
That’s has been my exact problem until I came across this video. Definitely going to be subscribing and watching a few more to help me make my home ship
That 2x2 Engineering Hab is exactly what I was needing for a Battlestar Galactica inspired ship I wanted to build! Thank you so much for these interior tours.
Deimos is the only one with a 3x1 living quarter. It also has very cute details like the pink lighting on the bed with the drawing, the blankets, the flatscreen in the back ... Stroud has basicly the same parts but this one very nice designed part is different and unique. That's the only reason why I chose Deimos. :D
@@tryadelion1 What Stroud Eklund have is the 3x1 all in one berth but no 3x1 living quarter. I think if they would have it would be the same as Deimos but with different color scheme (like all living quarters and all in one berths).
I see this sets Workshop has a Research Computer, same layout as the Stroud set. Not all sets have that and its super useful for compact ships. Thanks Space Coconut for putting these together, this is dopamine for ship building junkies like myself, ha!
Exactly what I was looking for! Only thing that might be a little helpful is like a subtitle for some of the modules which shows the data like Cost, Passenger Slots, what Workshops are in the module, that kind of thing.
These videos are exactly what I was after. I built a Deimos ship because I love the exteriors but the interiors were not exactly what I wanted (mostly due to my ignorance about Deimos modules tbh). But it's great being able to see the modules before I actually build.
Thank you for this. I’ve been struggling to make my perfect build as I’ve just had to use interior photos but after accidentally stumbling across this. I’ll be sticking an Aeris on my build shortly. Great work buddy
Dang, that Deimos bridge looks awesome! I hadn't really liked any of the other bridges, but that one stood out as something I might add into my next build. Thank you for these videos, they've been really helpful so far!
Thanks! Deimos definately looks nice! It would be cool if you could do a video that only highlights the specific exterior parts you can get from the manufacturers’ locations. The connecting walkways was a very good example & opened up a lot of design choices when i learned there was more than the Nova one
The Deimos 2x1 armory is one of the best modules in the game IMO. If you are like me and collect cool guns and gear it is the PERFECT display area. And its the only one that doesn't have a jail cell in the middle of it (for those of us that take no prisoners) 😉
Really helpful videos showing each manufacturer, very handy for what I want on my build. Cant wait to see what modder's get up to eventually with all of the modules there are.
24:08 I love the general feel of Deimos, this is what I am using on my ship... but why can't the captain's bed have blankets? I hate that metallic bed.
Anyone else wondering if the Deimos and Stroud-Eklind interiors got swapped at some point in development? Because these interiors match the S-E exterior aesthetic much better than their current interiors, and vice versa.
Stroud is very similar to Deimos except the floors are white and the ceiling is dark. Nova is the outlier of the five. I am waiting to see that one. If you haven't built a Ship Landing Pad w/Builder on an Outpost, the best place to build a ship is either Paradiso(Stroud, Hopetech, Nova) or Akali City(Hopetech, Stroud, Taiyo). Of the 5, Stroud is my prefered Hab source.
@@SpaceCoconut I'm not saying it would have to be a lot. Even 300 cargo wouldn't unbalance a 3 by 3 room considering that a cargo pod of the same size is only 1 by 1. I suppose they might have to make some adjustments to mass, but it really gives you no reason for a cargo hall other than to RP a big ship.
I think they add containers you could technically store stuff in if you wanted to. I haven't gotten to the point of big ships yet, but I was thinking of using the cargo space solely for resources as you can access it from the workbenches, and put some guns and stuff in the containers in cargo, although the armory would serve that purpose even better.
100% dumb that cargo habs have no storage. There are a couple habs that have storage however, the NOVA Capitan’s Quarters has a 150 lb box, Computer Core has a 150 lb box, and the Tayio 3x1 engineering bay has a 150lb box… I bet there’s some other habs with storage too, especially the armory habs. Habs also only cost 5 mass vs 50-100+ for cargo containers. If you fill up the boxes, then make a modification to your ship at the ship builder, or switch your home ship to one with a smaller cargo capacity- the box inventory will go into “overflow” storage and allow you to exceed the limits of your ship’s cargo hold capacity.
Does Deimos make ship components for a target audience leaning toward casual exploration or cozy design? I can’t wait to see what it offers! These ship showcase videos have been of great help for me 🎉😊
Yeah Nova Galactic are kind of the old-school Nasa look while Taiyo are more sleek and high tech. Stroud-Eklund are sort of all-purpose and utilitarian and Deimos supply the UC military.
I think you forgot a hab unit for Deimos, it's called "Deimos All-in-one Berth 3x1." Other than that I think you're good, either way awesome video series and great work. I visit this channel often for when I do shipbuilding. 😁
These vids are amazing! Can't tell you how many times I've built my ship go inside and hate it. Question were those hallways between the habs parts you can add or just natural connections? I don't think I've ever noticed them?
Deimos is definitely a step up from the first too. Alot lets wasted space and it feel different from the other ships. Even the bathroom is better design lol
the 2x2 modules are really nice but they're so difficult to work with, with no 2 wide cockpits you'll have to make an assymetric ship or a super wide ship.
New subscriber here. Thank you SO much for doing this series about all the different interiors. I haven't bought the game yet, but I'm already doing some planning for when I do. I just wish we could decorate the interior of our ships like we can decorate our homes in Fallout 4. Bethesda should have given us more interior options to personalize our home in space . At least some different wall decorations? And some aspects make no sense to me. For exemple, the mess halls have two huge sets of tables that can seat 16 people in total, yet most crews will average 4 or 5 people from what I've seen. On the opposite, most living quarters have only one set of 2 bunk beds! So, if you want to make sure that your 4 crewmen each have their own bed, you have to build two living quarters that will, sadly, be decorated exactly the same. Kinda ruins the immersion.
It’s interesting that Deimos, a military brand, looks more like it would be used for a civilian science vessel, and Hopetech looks more military… weird.
Same. I like the old world look of hope and also gives a sort of military vibe and Deimos is actually the military focused manufacturer but it’s almost too nice looking lmao. I’m in the UC navy too so I wanna roleplay to the fullest extent. Tough choice
Wish Bethesda just made the habitable modules empty and then its up to the player how to furnish the interior with beds, work benches, storage cabinets, etc. Instead its all pre fabricated. All those things in habs are just assets anyway.
Well, these vids helped me design a nice ship but, after all that effort I put into specifically laying out the habs in order of the exact pathing I wanted, the game apparently just randomly generates the most moronic layout it possibly can. Seriously hoping Bethesda doesn't do a Bethesda and leave this rather major feature functionally incomplete. Bare minimum, they could just allow players to enable a limited outpost mode while in their ships. Every connection point is obvious, so just allowing us to aim at the spot and cycle between access or wall for ourselves would be simple. (Because the outpost habs already allow you to do exactly that.)
I haven't tested it, but there's a rumor on reddit that says the order in which you place the habs influences their door placement for some reason. I'll be testing it when I start work on my own ship
Deimos seems nice from video, but then from first person it seemed too toysh, at least that was my impression after I've decided to built with it and regret it hahaha The living rooms are nice though
So Deimos and Stroud are almost identical as far as interior hull design goes. Whereas one is white and grey, the other is white and orange. Some minor decor and layout differences but still very similar. Even the base bridge layout is the same, just with seats in different positions. One thing I've taken away from these walk-throughs is just how samey and empty a lot of these HABs are. Pretty disappointing tbh.
