The media focused on a narrative...NEVER an off field distraction...I played fb( hs and college) the best of the best wanted( deserved) the ball...when he was a #1 and defense knew he was getting it, he still produced.
@tyronebiggums69 lol u funny and a casual fan. Before Jerry Rice came around, Steve Largent was up there with Don Hutson, Lance Alworth, and Paul Warfield as the best receivers ever
Well in fairness, T.O. brought the hate on himself. He was sort of a douche, he came across as a me first type of person, he threw his teammates under the bus, he was loud and not humble at all. That rubs some people the wrong way. He asked for it and he got it. His numbers are without a doubt off the charts, but to say he is 100% above Harrison or Tim Brown, for instance, or any other person NOT named Moss or Rice or Don Hutson and Steve Largent.
@@puppethound there is players that did a lot worse than he did and were on the list so him as a person doesn’t matter to what he was as a football player
@@greatnezz10 From the outside, TO and Dion could both be looked at as huge trash talkers, and a lot of people disliked both of them for it. However, not a single person who played with Dion disliked him, and almost everyone who played with TO hated him. Dion brought his team together with his trash talk, and TO split it apart. At one point, he was released from a team, with the team still needing to pay him millions, because the team was better without him, and not because of his play on the field, but because of what he did to the team.
@@TheRealMafoo just because they hated him doesn’t mean they didn’t respect him. He was productive on the field and damn near won his team a Super Bowl with a broken leg. So who he was as a person shouldn’t matter to what he did as a player
When prime asked her that question, listen how her voice tremble when she answered 🤣🤣🤣🤣. 🤦🏾♂.. That right there just showed you these voters shouldn't be voting for.these ballads 💯
He held every signle record when he retired.... They all fell years later but in his time he had all the records and as you said he was a beast!!!!!!!!
Nah TO is better than randy moss thats .Randy moss had great talent bit didnt work hard enough on his craft. Its his talent that got him through thats for sure
This is why white people can't be trusted with being objective. If their asses aren't kissed, they have big, stupid problems. More Blacks should be on these voting committees
@@rayjames2149 No doubt J.R. was a clutch catch kind of guy but J.M. and S.T. made him.. Drew Pearson was a play maker that could be inserted into any era and still dominate
@@Leochangingtheworld Lol man you are a 🤡,,,, Jerry went to the Raiders with an average Rich Gannon and still put up back to back seasons of 1200 yards at 40 years old …
I agree with Deion, if he was number 2 and 3 in the stats categories, then it was people on the panel that looked at what happened off the field instead of what he did on the field.
Just looking at stats though - not an objective point of view. The game became VERY pass happy in the mid 90’s and stats were inflated. Big time. TO would always be dominant sure, but she makes VERY valid points.
@@oregonguy13 bra... the greatest reciever is from the 80s... Jerry has 0 , 90's ring... so a pass happy white man owner league.. has nothing to do with stats.. Adrian Peterson ran over 2000 yards recently.. as well as ya boy on the ravens and broncos... and I believe a k.c. priest Holmes almost ran 2000.. it was a 180 lb Texans running back that ran 1800 yards... what does pass happy mean vs 60 minutes of football ?
@@oregonguy13 Even in a pass-happy environment, TO still stood out among his peers. There've been great receivers in TO's generation like Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, etc., and not one of them was better than TO. You could say Randy Moss, but they're on similar levels. Basically, Judy Battista wasn't willing to admit what Steve Largent and Deion pointed out: the real reason they kept him off the All 100 team was because they had an ax to grind regarding his personality. Do you really think Marvin Harrison is better than TO? I'm just glad Deion and Largent called it out because you can't make the argument that Harrison belongs on the list because of the numbers but TO doesn't.
And nothing happened off the field. No rapes like big Ben. No armed assaults like Incognito. No massage scandals like owner Kraft. No drunken driving like Irsay. What's the problem? A Black man with his own way of doing things. That's the problem. Many whites only like folks who conform and bend to their ways. Thanks T.O. for always being T.O. No homogenizing.
because there are 100 players, the list is finite, so like she said, who do you take off to put TO on? not just receiver, but any player to add T.O.? I mean T.O.'s stats and production were top tier for sure, but who comes off to add him, in your opinion. I will listen because I haven't seen the whole list.
@@puppethoundElroy hirch, Raymond Berry, Steve largent, Paul warfield, lance Alworth. Why is this question being asked for TO but not these other guys? Let’s not pretend that it’s anything but the off the field stuff holding him off this list.
Steve and Deion......greatness!!!!!!!! Steve is so humble....love it!! As exceptional as Deion was, he's always so quick to give other people their just due; including the guys that came before him.......love it!!!!!
Dude you just checked yourself out from ever talking football if you think Moss is the goat l.Can you say the greatest route runner ever Jerry Rice.nowTheir goes your goat.
There is only one goat and his name is Jerry Rice. The best pure route runner in history. When other receivers want to emulate you. That makes you the greatest.
yall talking out your a whole if you think its jerry stats dont mean a thing or ppl would be talking about jerry fitg but they dont. people still think peyton better than tom but tom has the stats and the superbowl. no one and i mean no one gonna tell me em smith is better than walter payton so come on quit it with the stats there are ppl better who dont have the stats.
I’m reminded of the old saying we had in the marines: “no matter how much you polish shit you can’t make it shine”…….this T.O. omission will never shine
I’m glad to hear Deion Sanders mention Sterling Sharpe! I have no idea way this man not in The Hall of Fame! For 7 seasons he was putting up the same type of statistics Jerry Rice that had during the time! I’m hearing that his career wasn’t long enough! No disrespect he played the number of years that Terrell Davis and to me one of the greatest running backs in NFL history Gale Sayers! Sterling played more games then Terrell and has more touchdowns! I think that selection and voting process should be given to players who are in The Hall of Fame! What better person to know what a HOF player looks like! HOF players from the offense and defense would select players from their position that they played! Then send those selections to the voting committee. I’m sorry these reporter’s having issues with a player and using that against them is ridiculous! Stop the madness and elect this to the HOF!
@@bryanallen8074 I disagree. This isn’t the basketball HOF where people who never played in the NBA get in, or people who made 2 all-star teams get in. Terrell Davis shouldn’t have gotten in. I agree Sterling would have if he hadn’t been injured but he was injured. Especially in Todays NFL I don’t think pro-bowls matter or should count in any way. To me Elie Manning isn’t a Hall of Famer. And you probably don’t remember Rice from the 80s where he was unstoppable with Montana, because if you did you would realize sterling Sharpe couldn’t touch that.
@@kyledodd6994 Nowadays diversity requirements is ruining everything. You are forced to hire someone who may not be the best prospect because you face the backlash for lack of diversity
This is absolutely fucking disgusting by the NFL to not include TO. If you put Moss on there you have to put TO. TO and Moss both played basically 218 games in the NFL. TO had 700 more yards and 96 more receptions, same number of pro bowls and 1 more first team all pro. Only thing Moss had more than TO receiver wise is 3 MORE TDS. THAT IS IT!
The problem Deion has is he asked questions with facts, and expects an actual answer back. She is never going to say why he wasn’t selected because it makes the whole process look bad. She will evade the question until she is off the air, even if Deion is right, and he is.
@@chikgriffin4136 @ a point he was the best on both teams and was the best on every team except when he was with Jerry and at the of Jerry in San Fran T.O was the best

Much respect to Prime and Steve they are truly honest men. T.O. was a beast and is a first ballot Hall of fame. The hall lost some credibility not letting him in on the first ballot.
Moss is the greatest WR of all time. Rice gets the title because of consistency and longevity. But Rice never impacted the game like Moss. Moss had defenses playing 15 yards off with help over the top and underneath.
@@karlthetroof Moss may have been the most talented, but he never had the drive or work ethic to be the greatest. He wouldn't go over the middle, he frequently took plays off, he didn't block down field, and several seasons he quit on his team. By the end of his career he showed that without break away speed he couldn't create separation.
I'm glad Deion brought up Sterling Sharpe. He was my favorite WR when he played (and he played when Rice and Irvin played). He was an absolute monster.
It's amazing the career Steve had despite of never playing with a great QB. Zorn got benched for Dave Krieg and Dave would tantalize with flashes of brilliance only to let you down later with flashes of Dave Krieg.
LOL Steve was amazing. First great receiver I was aware of. I am a 49er fan and was privileged to see Jerry Rice throughout his whole career. Jerry is the goat to me but Largent was fun to watch.
YES!! Somebody showed some love to one of my all time favorite players....Fred "Stickum" Billetnikoff!! He and Drew Pearson were the two I copied whenever we played those awesome backyard games as a kid!
Thanks Deion for making this what it was. A sham. T.O. should have been on this list. Put them on the spot and make them explain. She did not convince anyone that he shouldn't be on the list.
When you as a wide receiver are complemented by the greatest cornerback ever to play the game saying that he grew up watching and admiring you that is a Supreme complement
Dion, not the greatest cornerback. Not even the best of his era. Rod Woodson was just as good in coverage and was an amazing tackler. Dion couldn't tackle to save his life.
@@rockethead5705 Everybody’s entitled to their opinion but Deion overall is recognized as the greatest by the majority of football fans, analysts and the football players themselves. NFL network and ESPN both recognized Deion as the best but like I said you’re entitled to your own opinion. Deion is the greatest Cover corner....but when you talk about the total package its Ronnie Lott, and Mel Blount tied (#1)--had to change the rules because Mel Blount was too good at jamming receivers. Also can't forget Rod Woodson, and Night Train Lane who may also be in the #1 all time corner conversation.
@@rockethead5705 lets keep it real games arent lost because your number one corner is not a great tackler like brian urlacher. That's what the linebackers and safeties are for. TO is Top 3 ever by a long shot. Never seen somebody grab the ball and aggressively fly by the secondary like he did. Great hands, so fast, so strong… don’t get in his way
Being from chicago, i lived in houston during Watts career. He should be on here. Never liked the watt vs reggie white comparison because white had his best statistical career while playing tackle.
And it's not even like T.O.'s "off the field" stuff was bad enough from him being on the list or a 1st ballot hall of famer. He didn't get into anything like how Michael Irving or Ray Lewis did. They only kept him off the list to justify why he wasn't a 1st ballot HOF.

She sounding just like a politician when she gave that BS answer!! She doesn’t like T.O. and got stuck when they held her feet to the fire!!
She tried to say the game changed and receiving stats are greater and that makes it hard. Meanwhile 10 years after TO retired he's still 3rd in receptions and 50 TDs ahead of the closest ACTIVE player!
No one even mentioned the fact that in his first 5 seasons, TO was playing alongside Jerry Rice. The first 5 seasons are usually among the most productive years of a WR. That has to factor against the "era" argument. His numbers would even be more gaudy had that not been a fact.
I was so excited when I watched this live. I saw they left of Shannon Sharpe and T.0. and stopped watching. Absolutely disgraceful. Its not about the best, its all about politics.
T.O. is the number 2 receiver of all-time; he deserves to be in on the list. He never gave up on his team like Moss, he was always one of the hardest workers on the team. Who cares, off the field has nothing to do with on the field statistics. The NFL woman had no argument, stuttering, she knows there is no other reason than the press didn't like him. He should have been first ballot HOF too.
This is why players and panel members who have played the truly know the game should be the only ones doing these kind of voting because if that was the case TO would have never been left off.
She says one thing but did something else. He, T,O., should have been on the list. In his era, only Jerry Rice was better and his game never changed regardless of what team he played for. That in itself, says a lot.
Terrell Owens deserved a spot. They say he had issues on the field or had complaints and not being a team player but yet he showed at times he would play together with teammates and be a good soldier but yet people don't ever talk about the great things they always point out his bad issues but he did work hard as he could and I appreciate his work effort.
TO did a lot of silly things and people hated on him etc., but as a player no doubt he is a top 100 player.... T.O. was an incredible player on the field! One of the best to do it.
If you listen carefully, Steve Largent is basically admitting he's honored to be on thr list, but doesn't feel worthy. Michael Strahan is number 99. T.O is a top 75 player all time easily, top 60 perhaps.. this whole thing was a slap in the face
Strahan is 99. I'll bet they have Bob Lilly on that list. Unless Lilly is #100, he's ranked above Strahan. Bullshit. Strahan was better player. And he had a longer career.
