Late 80s was the pinnacle for rc buggies😍 manufacturers put just as much effort into the presentation of their products as they did on the actual product! Brushed motors which you had to look after and early stages of esc’s and batteries!……brilliant times😊
Hi Keith, thanks for the shout-out, and thanks to you, the Top Force is sitting proudly on my shelf. Looking forward to catching up later this year in Sydney, then hopefully down in Melbourne for the Vintage Bash.
Yay! Love to see you adding to the Kyosho stable Keith! Nice buys 👍🏽 I like your idea to rere the custom special. Good way to keep the TOMS the TOMS. Cheers Bud
The Turbo Rocky is on my list, I want one too...I had a feeling you were going to bid on that one. Love the box and presentation on that too. Love watching you unbox the classics!
What a load of lovely kits! I love the turbo rocky but the Calibra is my favourite. It's a great looking car. I'm lucky to own the Tamiya Cliff Calibra which Gavin built on his channel, it's just a beauty!
@@rcicons4915 that he did! I remember when there were loads of them on the road here in Northern Ireland. They were a really nice car! We still get the odd one.
Now 1988 was an awesome year! You had the choice of an Avante or the Optima Mid Custom Special. The CS is by far my favorite 4wd from Kyosho. The body design just sets it off! Enjoy the weekend, Keith.
Nice to see these kits although Kyosho has never really been ‘my bag’. Still cool to see all this stuff though and the effort that went into the presentation when you popped the lid.
Great stuff! I would love to see Kyosho re-re some of these kits, they have so many kits they could do. The Raiders, the Rocky series and so many others but I guess it probably won't happen. Great additions to the collection!
I totally agree. Kenny is pretty in tune with Tamiya and Kyosho back in the day and he was saying that Kyosho does not have the earlier molds to what they are doing. I hope they do as I would love to see those very early buggies come back as well.
Great video Keith, I am planing someday to get an Optima that is my dream car what one you you say is best for running I didn't even know the custom special was even a thing. and that Top Force is beautiful great find.... Hope to see it on the track soon.. Coffee with Keith complete. Thanks my friend.
Nice additions to your collection Keith! I just missed out on the Mid Custom Special back in around 1990. We set off on a several hour road trip to Mansfield models near Nottingham (UK) without bothering to ring up beforehand having seen it advertised at the best price in Radio Race Car there. When we arrived we found they’d just sold out of the Custom Special but had got the newly released Lazer ZX in so I bought one of those instead but it cost more and meant I couldn’t buy new radio gear. Not sure why we didn’t ring up beforehand to check, my Dad probably thought it would be a good excuse to take me and my brother out for the day regardless of wether it was in stock or not. Long way in a 1100cc Ford Fiesta with no radio though! If ever they re-release the TOMS, Custom Special or Lazer I’ll be ordering one!
Awesome kits was wondering if you ever plan on doing another collection update I know it would be a huge task but would love to see it your collection has become museum quality love for passion for the hobby
Thank you. It is funny because I feed off what I see others do. Glenn was a huge influence on me starting my collection so my hope is that it goes full circle and I might inspire others to do the same. Collection videos will be filmed once the new studio is done and everything is in 1 place. Lol
That Calibra is super cool! I was tempted with that but passed it because I have the chassis already. I believe it's officially Pureten Ep Spider 4wd. But the design is same as with TF-2. It is lower spec though with friction shocks, alu chassis and no turnbuckles. I have seen a flyer that has this named TF-2, and the one with carbon lower chassis was TF-2 Race Ready or Race Spec and then the TF-2 Type R. Some of the nostalgic series cars came also with this chassis but the lower deck was black and with plastic side pod thingies. I need that in my collection.
lol All great info. I get confused when I see a tf2 chassis with a different name. Now it all makes sense. I have a few of the ep nostalgic cars and the chassis is very close.
@@rcicons4915 Take a guess what came after TF-3R? You got it! The Pureten Ep Spider Mk2. 2wd version of the TF2 chassis. I have the whole collection from Spider 4wd to TF-4R plus some extras. I'll send you some pics if you'd like.
Awsome find the custom special 👍 right now i just want kyosho to drop the zx-r thats the daddy for me. Not found a new in box one and i need to experiance the build from new 🤩
Hello. I wouldn't drive the Evolution. Especially not with the original rims. It still says “Made in Japan”. You can only buy modified cars. The car should be saved. The condition is too good. I don't like the blue dampers.
Sorry fellow, those unboxing are realy gone our of controle, not even you may live until 90 years old you wont have enuff time to use and enjoy all those stuff you have now, this is no more realistic anymore at all. Even the problem you are going to face in the future is to loose the memory on all you got and you will spend a lot of time searshing the items.
