My impression/opinion is... no its not hard at all to remove them technically. But to remove them without BREAKING the clips is hard! That is the part I am sweating. How to get them out 100% whole? On my 93, the previous owner had a custom paint job. Samba green with extra transparent candy green in the clear. Basically made a 3 stage green. It really adds depth, but there will be no matching the paint with a new part if I fail. Thank you for taking the plunge and showing the part off. Maybe knowing the correct angles the clips go in will help me pull the correct way to remove them without breaking them! I am watching your project for motivation to do the same to mine! Thank you for showing your efforts! I applaud you!
Just picked up a rust free Del Sol Si with the typical issues. Door handles (need lubed). Targa top seals and handles broke. Hood latch problem. Center console door falling off. Trunk lifts worn out. Black paint rough looking. Some of the parts are next to impossible to find new. Hood latch and cable. Targa seals. Ect.
I just found out there are or is a drainage near the gas tank for water going in behind the rear window... the guy said you don't have to take anything off to get to it/them... so if it's clogged and water gets stuck down there, it's easy to unclog etc.... do you know anything about this? Thanks!
I recommend you watch my “removing and installing rear window in a del sol” definitely lots to take off. Del sols leak everywhere lol watch my vids on this I think I cover all leaks they leak from
Jaythesizzler hey man, I had that problem, and it ended up ruining my original ECU. I had to take off the molding / panel below the windshield in the exterior and clean out the drain holes, they are clogged. When they get clogged, the water finds itself into the passenger side and gets your ECU wet.
No it's the air intake for the fan, you can stop it by turning on your internal air circulation, if you want to get rid of it you have to get to the air intake and make a rain shield. It's a design flaw
Pulling the inner panel makes it easier to detach the middle clip. A long flat head from the inside with a slight tug is all it takes for the center piece.
Lmaoo I know what you mean, even if you fix all the leaks, then targa top leaks by the window seal but yea man I love them, they’re different. I just put up with the drops on my leg or arm when it rains, only few drops every now and then.
