Wow, it took me just now to realize that the lyrics on this version of the song have to do with helping people ("Here's to you walking miles for water," "We'll raise a million voices to call out," etc.). I think that it's because they recorded this version for UNICEF and then changed the lyrics on the album version.
Sweet song! The studio version, as well as the other material on 'April Rain' will be great! Now, to get them over here to North America for a tour! :)
nah, can't you see it? it's not the video's aspect ratio, that's why her face looks long and thinner. i think she looks still fine. man, i'm looking forward to the new album.
I just generated a music video script for this version via ChatGPT, just as a joke. Title: "I'll Reach You" - UNICEF & BT Music Video INTRODUCTION: [The video opens with a scenic view of a diverse and vibrant cityscape, symbolizing the global unity of the cause. The camera pans over the city and then zooms in on a bustling street where CHARLOTTE WESSELS, the lead singer of Delain, stands on a busy sidewalk.] VERSE 1: [As Charlotte begins to sing, we see close-up shots of children from various parts of the world going about their daily lives, highlighting their different cultures and backgrounds. Some are walking to school, others playing, and some working on creative projects.] [Cut to CHARLOTTE singing in front of a microphone in a recording studio, intercut with the international scenes.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): I am but a young soul, and I'm homebound But I've been crossing borders in my mind Never mind the miles, never mind the hours VERSE 2: [The camera follows Charlotte as she leaves the recording studio and walks through the city streets. She encounters people from different walks of life, all connected by the cause. As she walks, we see images of children receiving education, clean water, and medical care thanks to the efforts of UNICEF and BT.] [Cut to CHARLOTTE interacting with children and volunteers who are part of UNICEF's programs.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): Under the equator, over light seas A world of a million chances, world of a million needs And we're getting closer, yes, we're getting closer Raise a million voices to call loudly PRE-CHORUS: [The video shifts to show various UNICEF workers and volunteers working in different parts of the world, including rural areas and conflict zones.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): Here's to you, walking miles for water Here's to you, fifteen-year-old mother CHORUS: [The video transitions to a heartwarming scene where Charlotte connects with a young girl from a different country through video call. They exchange smiles and waves.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): Even if you're not here I'll reach you, I'll reach you Even though you're away, I'm near For the words we connect, I'll reach you VERSE 3: [Charlotte continues to walk through the city, witnessing the positive impact of UNICEF's work. She meets children who have overcome adversity and are now thriving.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): I haven't seen the houses, your old streets I've heard about the cities, about your poverty But your body's healthy, your minds are wealthy I've seen our world connected, and it's alright PRE-CHORUS: [Cut to CHARLOTTE and UNICEF volunteers sharing stories and experiences.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): Here's to you, walking miles for water Here's to you, fifteen-year-old mother CHORUS: [The video shows children and volunteers from different countries singing along with Charlotte, emphasizing unity and connection.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): Even if you're not here I'll reach you, I'll reach you Even though you're away, I'm near For the words we connect, I'll reach you [The chorus repeats as CHARLOTTE joins hands with children from different countries, forming a circle of unity.] ENDING: [The video ends with CHARLOTTE WESSELS standing on a stage with a backdrop of a global map, symbolizing the worldwide reach of the campaign. The children and volunteers join her on stage, and they all raise their hands in a gesture of unity as the song reaches its powerful conclusion.] CHARLOTTE WESSELS (singing): I'll reach you [The screen fades to black, and text appears on the screen: "Support UNICEF and BT's 'Inspiring Young Minds' Campaign."] [The video ends with the Delain and UNICEF logos, along with a call to action for viewers to donate and get involved in the campaign.] FADE OUT.
The chorus is pretty catchy. I hope that April Rain is at least as heavy as Lucidity. But I guess it's good that they have a poppy/catchy song to snag some new fans, I think.
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuh muy cierto :D bastante hermosa sobretodo el coro, me gusta la estrucvtura de esos acordes son muy bellos... E... C... G.... F# Hermosa :)
Maybe Charlotte is singing live, and the music is on tape. And indeed, you can't have an opinion, because if people don't like it, you'll always get thumbs down.
este tema da a saber que Delain y su nuevo album saisfaceran las espectativas de todos nosotros como amantes de su musica... jaja es solo que me parece que no os gusto la cancion para haber dicho, q hayan mejores canciones q esta.. esta es hermosa !!
its not direct sound, its the PA output, this is why it sounds so perfect, but its no playback at all. the "second voices" are the echoes of charlottes voice. thats an effect of the PA
nope the album version IS different, they wrote this originaly for a charity then they liked it but they changed the lyrics before putting it on the album =]
then I wonder, where is the girl that sings the other vocals? And its just... it looks tame...Expecially the drummer but also the guitar players. I'm not saying playbacking is bad, and I cannot know for sure if it is or not... I just get the idea its playbacked. And it would be cool if people didn't vote me down for saying that...
Can someone explain why the heck the lyrics on this video are completely different from the lyrics on the album??? Charlotte says something in Dutch about Unicef ( did I get it right?). Is she saying that this is a different version???
TRANSLATION: We heard about UNICEF and BT's “Inspiring Young Minds” campaign. We wanted to be a part of this and wrote the song "I'll Reach You" to possibly contribute. It will be available for download and will be on our new album. The proceeds will go to UNICEF. This is the UNICEF version of the song and is different from the APRIL RAIN version.
Not too bad.. Charlotte's voice is still amazing, otherwise i probably wouldn't give half a shit about Delain.. But maybe they still have something going ; ) good luck with the new work!!!
i'm liking this more and more, I just hope the rest of the album is a little more complex and metalish...the guitar, drums and bass look so boring, but the keyboards are nice
Man, there is no echoes! Are backing vocals how will be echos? Echoes with inteligent escale transpose? Other lines of melody not the same. God bless you
it's not play backed.. charlotte is singing. only the second voices are playbacked.. obviously the band can't have two more people on stage to do the secondary vocals.. especially on a stage that small
I hope their new album is better than this. It will be extremely difficult to top their previous album without the star-studded line up of guests they had before. This song is ok I guess but I hope for a less poppy sound.
