It would be great if Ewelink's "Power State after Power Outage" feature could have a programmable delay added to the "On" and "Last State" options. This would solve the problem you noted of using inching for this idea, and losing the ability to power off the device normally. Ideally a random delay after grid power restoration, because this would add robustness to grid power restoration, given that this is normally a problem, with so many devices wanting to start the instant that grid power comes back. Many of these devices will have HUGE inrush currents, adding to the problem. Eventually, (optionally) giving the electric utility control over when large-load devices restart would allow them to much more gracefully and rapidly re-energize the grid in large-scale blackouts.
Allowing a grid operator to turn off your heavy loads during peak load times is a growing thing, too. I see no reason why this is not a good idea, as long as it is "opt-in", and there is some financial incentive to sign up for this. I'd like to see an industry standard for this feature, so that a wide variety of IoT devices can be easily controlled by an electric utility, if one is signed up for this plan.
I can see advantages of inching feature on devices like refrigeration devices where you may want a delay of a few minutes to protect the compressor from rapid power cycling and also using the power monitoring features. Probably not so useful for devices that are not usually on.
I use a Shelly plug to do this for my switch and my home Nas server. During a storm we often get multiple blackouts with random delays. Best if the sensitive stuff only comes back online when the power is stable. I set a 2hr delay.
I installed this for my geyers. I have 4 Geyser at my house. After loadshedding my power trips due to overload. These new pow elite works great but when you add schedule to switch on and off it does not work with inching.
thats nice,how to turn off a device from a scene when a power outage occur?i have the THelite connected to water heater , that i want to turn it "off" when the Powelite goes offline as a "SCENE" .however this is not working due to the fact that there is no offline mode in the scene

Does this also work with the new sonoff pow origin (the one without the screen)? My android TV box sends a wake command to my TV after a power outage and this means TVs come on in the middle of the night and disturb sleep. If I can have my TV delayed getting power to only after the Android TV wake command it sent, it will miss the command and not turn on.
@@csongorvarga seems that the pow origin and pow elite share the same instruction manual with the only difference being that the elite has a screen and the origin does not. I'll buy the origin (it is cheaper) and see if it does the trick
