In Croatia they are living Legends....every year they been showing them at least 2times a year and still we can't get enough of them...Much respect i love for u Sir David from 🇭🇷with ❤
Haha yes. I watch it often here in Croatia (English guy). By the way there is a Trotter Independant Traders Reliant Regal van on Njuškalo for sale. Poz.
David Jason is a genuine national treasure. He has given so much joy & laughter to so many people. John Sullivan was a comedy genius with his superb writing along with David’s perfect character of Del Boy has made this 40yr old sit com a true classic. You could put on a dvd of it with a 10year old now and they will instantly get it..laugh their heads off. When David’s time is up it will be a sad day
I well up with tears ..with just the thought of his passing..so yes it will definately be a sad period of time as the mourning shan't ease magically over night. How could it...when he is a giant amongst giants..! 😢
Vratice se Rode u pocetku serijala kada Dragan Bjelogrlic i Nikola Djuricko prodaju na pijacima one lazne parfeme podseća me na Del Boy i Rodney :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Tlye7sPzt4.html
I don’t use this word often but he’s an absolute legend. I’m 26 so I wasn’t born when OFAH began but I have watched every episode about 50 times and it’s undoubtedly my favourite series of all time. Nicholas Lyndhurst deserves a huge amount of credit too.
Should've been Jim Broadbent originally (who eventually went on to play Roy Slater) according to what John Sullivan said in Comedy Connections and various other interviews over the years, but Jim rejected the part. Time was running out to find someone to play the part when Producer Ray Butt just happened to spot David Jason in Open All Hours. I think it was a scene where he was trying on some new clothes out the back in Arkwright's shop and did a 'Del Boy swagger' and he was cast from there.
Trigger was played by a very accomplished actor (Roger Lloyd-Pack). His father was also an actor (Charles Lloyd-Pack) and played a key role in the film 'Victim' (1961) with Dirk Bogarde.
I think he tries to supress that image the most he can, but the way he acted and talked was really him I believe. It's a shame people feel like they have to be someone else these days.
I was born in the east end of London and the characters from fools n horses were all true to life down the local pub, even down to the nicknames! You can still see the remnants of these characteristics in Essex n Kent now etc...I have always felt so blessed to be a cockney and no matter how much London has changed, I always have my fantastic memories.....✨💕🙏🏼
When he says ‘it’s a well known fact” he’s basically saying he’s told this story a million times. True legend though as he’s always happy to keep taking about Del Boy
Watching this after the millionaire scene. David and Nicholas are both legends. Over 20 years of tears laughs and smiles. There will never be another show like only fools.
“ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES “ greatest comedy show in the world !!! I still watch the repeats over and over again never get bored ....David Jason sheer brilliance !!!
Don't start that captain Birdseye cobblers with me 😂😂never gets old I can tell you line for line.just magical.john Sullivan who wrote every line.genius and David is my idol.he gets Rodney every time.ha
A true legend! Even though I'm swede somehow I watched Only fools and horses a lot... So much comedy from UK is mind blowing, Fawlty, Young ones, Fools and horses and soo on...
It’s Xmas night and I’m sat here watching the Xmas ep where grandad cooks the turkey with all the giblets still in! “I just didn’t know it was in there Del Boy” 😂
Josh Charlie, I am from Scotland, and I lived in London for quite some time, back in the day. You are right mate. London did have a real sense of character about it, and I loved listening to the Cockneys and their banter. Absolutely brilliant. So sad about modern day London. Really sad. It's just not the same.
RobRoyBoaz sad indeed. I go and gaze at the buildings now. But you aren’t likely to bump in to a Londoner. Just plenty of people who now live in London from all over the world. Not families that lived there for generations, who built the place with their hands.
You would be very much surprised that we say the same about Belgrade. Losing its character from the 60s and 70s, no old Belgrade families any more, people coming from all over ex Yugoslavia to live here etc. It seems to happen all over the world with the big cities .
Im from London, North, and it was NOT the same place when I left 15 years ago, I went back 4 years ago and it was like walking down a street in Afghanistan in some areas. But the world is changing, we all evolve. Lets all be free and get on
I have grown up with fools and horses and it will always remain timeless to me. I Love the characters and the actors and I was 12 when only fools had horses started, and now I'm almost 50 it really brings it all into perspective. The time has really gone by so fast and it really has. My conclusion is that we really have to take into account that life is so short and we really have to slow down just a bit and look around 😉
One iof the greatest British comedian actors, but even he says the real Govenor is the late and very great Ronnie Barker. Ronnie knew every style of comedy and how to write and act it and he wrote everything he ever did but posted it all to the Producers as anonymous letters for free play screen writes. After the program would end, they would have their finale after series dinner parties and he would say, he was the one who wrote it all. I would add George 'Arthur Daley' Cole and Dennis Waterman with these legends and John Thaw, but the latter 3 were not comedic actors.
Incredible character created by the late GREAT John Sullivan, brought to life by the even greater Legendary actor David Jason.......Timeless Classics every episode without a doubt.
Only fools and horses is one of them past times where you feel at home, brings you back, keeps you balanced. When my gf was pregnant we would sit and watch episodes every night for dinner. So now only fools is associated with just a good time for me.
🤣😂i had the genuine ming biscuit barrel , that sat on dels telly ...( he used it for his cigars ) ..... cost me £2.50p ...... BUT TO YOU MADAM A KNICKER 🤣🤣😂
David jason is a fine actor. The Trotters were like extended family to us. My family goes back generations in London (we traced our family tree back a few hundred years). My Uncle was a wheeler dealer when we were kids and always had stuff around his flat, but his brother, Kenny, was teh absolute double of Del Boy, right down to the haircut, gold, the camel hair coat..and his five foot nothing.. A real wide boy he was, and when OFAH came to air, there were near riots at home when we saw Del Boy for the first time!
What I really liked about this was as David Jason was recollecting meeting the builder you could tell as he was talking he momentarily went back to that day and we saw a snippet of the creative rpocess. Only Fools and Horses is amazing but just like David Jason, it takes me back thinking about school days, watching tv with the brothers and family.
Absolute legend ! Best actor & comedy show of all times, they don't make them like that any more. Hats down for David Jason & John Sullivan, OFAH forever !
Great story, "Always try to give something to the audience" will stick in my mind. Thank you my friend for all the laughs and enjoyment over the years.
Still watch OFAH on Gold, I’ll quite happily watch repeat after repeat. The best sitcom ever made. It for sure will be a sad day when David Jason dies, a true legend of British acting.
A true ledgend what a diamond the belly laughs I've had watching fools and horses and open all hours thank you David Jason and the whole crew that created pure genius.
'e's windin' me uuuup... thank you David Jason - great artiste, can't imagine anyone other than him and Arthur Cole as Del and Arfur. Can't get enough of them.
My dad worked with Derek Hockley. My dad use to nick his van when meant to be at work and take his mates to South End in Essex 😂. Derek never knew.😂 My dad was a real East End Cockney very similar to Del Boy,voice, words, mannerisms. My dad died recently this year 2023. I miss him terribly so only fools and horses is bittersweet comfort. I love you dad you old tart! Il always be your wally as you would say you silly git. 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
We need one last season. Please BBC, actually earn your license money. Damien as the wheeler dealer, Rodney is still the suitcase carrier, and Del as the new hopeless grandad figure.
Love you David Jason. Loved you as Granville and Arkwrite. Loved you with grandad and Rodney. Loved you as par larking. Toad and danger mouse. You have and will have an amazing life xxx❤ Jayne Pontlottyn😃
