Been watching your vids for a while, and while I’m a biker I could barely cut a block of wood in half. So I have to say, you’re one very clever guy. Thanks for making the vids and all the best 👍🏻
Exactly! That first gen GSXR-type headlight styling is amongst my all-time favourite looks ever. Great tips and tricks, and nice close up camera focus on the rivnut install, loved it. My first thought though, was: Auuugh! He's been broken into! So glad it was "only" a roof leak. My storage locker was broken into and helmets and other bike stuff stolen just last month, sigh. :(
Sorry to hear that mate, hope it was all insured, what you wouldn't wish upon the light fingered toe rags aye... I hope you can replace it all, take care, and wishing you a happier New Year mate.
@@LS-uv9gg Not at all mate, feel for ya buddy, it's horrible getting broken in to, just a feeling of intrusion and having your privacy invaded, it's as bad as losing the property, hope you can sort it all out mate.
That's going to look ace, nice work Del! I love those big fairings with twin headlights such as the GSXR as you mentioned or the RC30/45 which is one of my faves!
Another great video Del. The ceiling coming through is a pain but the happiness on you face when you described the GSX headlight was palpable. Brilliant. Enjoy your beer mate
Thanks Andy, good to hear from you buddy, best plans are fluid aye,. then you never have to say.. "it didn't got according to plan".. !!! happy new year mate, and ride safe.. D&Pxx
Another brilliant episode the two tools that were brilliant was the M6 drill and tread bit and that screw thread insert plug amazing design. It certainly coming together.
Thank you Sir, really enjoying making progress on this, and challenging myself a little harder than usual as now I'm following a known, iconic design, it's important to get it right.
Del... Another awesome video. The best thing is we get to see how the images in your head come together as a finished work of art. I always hit the like button before I even watch the video because I know all of your videos are awesome.. Thank you for sharing them with us, I for one really appreciate them.
Thanks buddy, thats very kind, im glad you're enjoying the progress, it's coming together really well now, happy with it so far..! Happy new year to you and your family, and thank you for your support sir .
Cracking job Del - really imaginative - you've only added a loop - yet it's already setting the theme for the front end - thank you as always for sharing!
...2000 Ford focus inner cabin filter cover...not one tab survived and even with glasses, almost got my eye! (everything plastic has officially dry rotted! ....and now my uncle owns it!) Got a new 2019 Camry SE, parked, came back, three exact same cars next to me....i feel like a drone!
Hi Trev.. simple enough aye, common sense way to manipulate metal, use it and pass it on buddy.. old hand skills need to be kept alive... Have a happy new year mate, and keep in touch.
It does indeed Sir, it was properly exciting when that blinding flash of inspiration hits you and suddenly you know which way to go and every piece of bar you bend seems to have it's route mapped out and it just slowly comes together... it's actually quite stressful now I have a style I must follow because it can all go wrong if one line of the fairing is wrong, not only that, getting everything square and symmetrical is a challenge, but hey, it wouldn't be fun if it wasn't a challenge aye?! Happy New Year mate!
Absolutely outstanding of course when you started making that template and I started recognized The shape Of the GSXR 93 to a 98 model I love it Absolutely belongs Awesome job🏍🏍🏍🏍
Thanks mate.. its a little earlier than that, check out the GSXR 1100 H model, (86' to 88'), much more angular and aggressive... it's gonna be a challenge getting the handlebar pockets correct, and of course the line of the screen, which is quite unusual, but I think it'll go really well with the bike. Thanks for your support.
@@Moonfleet41 oh!!!! I've never really got the harley thing, but my riding is getting a little more relaxed as i age. Maybe it's coming!... I did enjoy a buell m2 lightning for a while, maybe i should look for one of them again!! It's like a thumpy motard, just bigger haha!!
Thanks Mark, just a bit of fun until I can find time to put up a coat hook I'll have to keep using the force (as you can see, it's not strong in this one!)... try harder I must!
Love it Del Great work as always. The Evolution carries on . Sorry to see the damage to the work shop hope it get's resolved soon. It sound like you have a good landlord mate
You could not choose better approach, there’s nothing better then letting your imagination flow while you are building your project, and to be honest, even if you draw a plan and try to stick to it imagination will more often then not side track you (at least to me does, lol) and you end up making things somewhat different from the original plan. I think that front end idea will deffo match up the rear and enhance the retro look of the bike, VERY WELL DONE DEL!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 brilliant simply love it
Blimey, thanks mate, I totally agree, you can draw all the plans you like, but you'll rarely follow them, then you just have the stress that the plans will be sitting there forever telling you you did it wrong! Enjoying the process and learning new things along the way!
Happy New Year Del. I hope you guys have a wonderful new year. Thank you for all the advice and tips and your opinions through this year. I have really enjoyed watching your videos.
For a minute then I thought you'd had a breakin through the roof! Frame is very cute, can't wait for the next one. I think if you add a driving light in the middle it will detract from the beauty of the twin spots. Keep it simple and classic. :-)
Bloody nice job Del, looks good mate. This build gets better and better. Bad luck with the ceiling, but the up side is you get a new roof. Hope Penny and you had a great and relaxing Christmas. Cheers
Thank you sir. yes it's great to be getting the peace of mind the the whole roof will be renewed, i think it was already planned anyway, they've just brought it forward for obvious reasons now.. have a happy new year, and thank you as ever for your constant loyal support.. ride safe.. D&Pxx
Hey Brother, Thank you for your support it's all a leap into the dark with designing a new shape. not gonna be too precious about it, just a basic fairing frame, ten skin it.
Sweet results, Del. I’m sure that will be an awesome, almost sinister look for the front end! Too bad about the roofing leak but glad your landlord is upgrading the roof for you folks. Pretty warm here today and just doing some minor repairs on my brother-in-law’s MGB. Stay well, both of you!
Thank you Gary, yeah bummer with the roof aye, but it's an 80yr old building and that's the original roof, so I think they've had their value for money don't you ha ha... works starts in the Spring, and it's really reassuring to know we have a landlord who's prepared to invest in the property we rent from them!
Really well done, Del... I really like that design framework, and with the two round headlights, it's going to look awesome. Looking forward to seeing the front end evolve as you go. All my best to you.
Hey Donald, good to hear from you, thanks so much for your kind support, it's really appreciated, wishing you a very happy new year, all the very best, D&Px
She's finally got a face! So simple but really nicely crafted. I like the whole organic evolution process. If ya don't make a plan it can't go wrong! It's like being out on the bike touring. Some of the best places I've been to, I only found cos I got lost. Happy new year to you and Penny. Can't wait for the next instalment
Thanks Paul, couldn't put it better myself, thank you for your kind words of support, and encouragement, have a fantastic New Year, take care and keep in touch!
Thanks for your loyal support Joel, i often miss the home garage too for making video, but it was just too cramped to get everything in any more... ill do the odd video from there now and again for little jobs, it's our home garage, so not gone for good..
Bummer about the roof mate , I know how proud of new place you was ....least it's not going to cost you money to fix it thankfully .. good idea with bike Dell, letting bike speak to you for inspiration rather than having a plan . Am under no doubt it be awesome when completed ..it always is .
Thanks buddy, "letting it inspire you on the day" is the very most enjoyable way to do it ,even if it doesn't give you a show winning design.. this is about the journey aye. not bothered about the roof.. its just logistics, bigger fish to fry mate, It'll get done, and be back to normal by the spring.. Thank you for your kind support.
@@Moonfleet41 I'm awesome del hope penny is good too man , I'm off next week and I'll be cleaning the bike tomorrow but I don't think I'll have time for a ride this week I have a list of jobs around the house to do , but new year I want to strip the bike down ready for powder coating I'm going to see a friend of mine for colour and plan of attack can't wait. 👍👍
Hey buddy, great to hear from you... hope you've had a good one too... be good to catch up, let us know what you're up to and let's make a plan (PS are you mobile with a bike on the road at the moment?).
Thanks buddy, great minds think alike aye, strange how some shapes stick in your mind forever and become instantly recognisable, even when it's just a piece of wire!
Thank you Sir, I knew a touch of 80's style would wake up us older bikers and peek some interest! It just feels right and maybe, in some way as this is a cafe racer style, it helps to bring an old school look to the mix!
Thanks Nev, little chance of that, even though it's an old building, the place is like Fort Knox and if they had managed to get in, then I'd have them on camera for you all to enjoy... what a video that would make!
Haven't watch in a while but Merry late Christmas and Happy New year. All the best to you and Penny. I am coming over in the summer I hope to meet you both. Always a pleasure Take care.
Hi Bradley, that's exciting news, let us know when and where you'll be and we'll try and make it to meet you! Have a great New Year and best wishes for 2020! D&Px
aww man.... oh no... you have valuable bikes in there... no no no cool stuff on the bike.... looks awesome... yeah 2 headlights looking naked yeah,..... lol cool how made the frame... great idea for me to use on my bike carrier i just bought a bike carrier for my car... this outta be fun. i can see already i need more strength braces welded on. i'd like to take a trip soon
Ay Del, very nice fabrication. I really like the your approach with the sockets in the vice as a bending jig. A question: how do you know you've heating the steel wire to the right temperature for bending? Also, sorry to hear about your roofing problems but glad the landlord is taking care of it.
First merry Christmas to you and your family, second that looks great! Really coming together. If your going the direction I think you are I’m very excited to see the final front profile
Hate it when you feel the need to justify what you use and how you do things these people that nit pick should do one for me it’s mostly about the idea and watch ability who gives a toss what oil you use for cutting a lot like me can only afford to use what we have I’m a bit of a make do and mend kind of guy using any oil is better than none I just wish the odd few would just leave you be to entertain and educate people such as me ....I’m a massive fan pal keep erm coming loving every bit
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for that very kind, and generous, message... I think it's just the culture of You Tube now, for some people to treat every question they may have as a monstrous criticism and, of course, they usually can't help turning it in to a personal attack, and I'm pretty sure that none of it would near as bad if the comments weren't public... some people are often playing to the crowd and seeking to embarrass, but there we are, that's just the nature of social media... it says far more about them than anyone else. We're really glad you enjoy the videos, it's been a long road so far, in to our 10th year now, and still growing steadily... so we must be doing something right. Take care and have a fantastic New Year, all the very best, D&Px
Hello Del, Not what you needed really. Be careful if the roof is made of asbestos. Nasty stuff! Like the idea of the Endurance style front end. Really dislike the modern Bug Eye insect/Alien look most bikes have now. Cheers Keith
Hi mate, yes two whole days off lol and now back at work, hope you had a lovely time, we'll catch you early January mate, looking forward to it! Love to the family, hugs D&Px
Eyyy! Nice going boss! All the best. Have a good new years. Hope that silly roof gets fixed soon haha, that's a not super fun thing to fix in the winter though eh, more of a spring/summer endeavour if you ask me 😱🙃
Thanks Ollie, sure thing, thankfully it's not my problem, the landlord's got some great builders on the job making a new roof once the Spring comes... such is life aye! Have a great New Year and 2020 mate.
Was it a bit hot there Del at about 17:30. You pull the sheet off and grab the freshly fabricated part and then the silent outch symbol of the hand shake
