fantastic explanation. But what are the proper settings for the voltage regulator points for a typical delco remy generator so that the field coil is not over heated. I assume that it must be about 14.5 volts for the generator points but the field winding cut off ?

Anyone with knowledge of the charging system for a 65 Parisienne?

What hapens if you short acros those 3 active points on the regulator???
