@@Stroobiedoo what would be a apparent reason to be gay? I mean there has to be no reason for someone to be gay. There isn't in real life so why should there in hollywood. That's the whole point... I can see your point against love scenes in action movies on the other hand. Although i couldn't really name concrete examples for long gay love scenes, but that could well be due to my lack of knowledge.
@@fukuoka-musicianTry watching only independent movies for a while. Not just the few that actually turned out decent but the dozens to hundreds that are so cheaply and poorly made that the basic technical aspects of a movie aren't even done properly.
@@IamNinjaOfNinjawhat are you even complaining about? “X women” essentially carried Marvel for decades before they sold the IP and Avengers became the new “it” team. In the 80s, almost half a century ago, their teams were always half male/half female. EVERYONE knows who storm, Jean, mystique and rogue is, and many more with Emma, Psylocke, Magik, Polaris, etc. I legit don’t understand what you’re crying about? What mainstream Xmen movie suddenly turned a character gay? I don’t think even you know what you’re crying about.
@@Dropsey818 yeah looking back Famke did slightly better job adding emotion to the role at what was slowly happening to them becoming Phoenix, while Sophie was a bit stale. They both had two movies to get it right. Didn't help they were once again forced to narrow Dark Phoenix story to single film, this point wouldn't mind Disney doing another recast taking one more crack at it for MCU. But this point looks we get might just get more Famke instead in the next Deadpool! 😏
I tend to agree. I'd like to challenge creators to make a movie with less "popular" characters. There are so many interesting powers that could look good on the big screen.
A series would solve this problem. Shoving all into one movie ruins everything. It is based on comics.. not books. It makes no sense that it isn't a series.
That's half of the problem. The other half is the storyboarded VFX action scenes. There's probably a great film hidden in all that footage they filmed, but then they cut out everything that wasn't a top billing main character or a VFX action scene. By cutting out all the character development, _especially_ of the newer ones who haven't had any development in prior movies, they make this movie a re-hash of everything we've seen before, and give us no interest in watching the next movie (especially those new characters). Pre-Endgame MCU did so well because they focused so relentlessly on character development, _especially_ of the characters who weren't fan favorites yet. And existing favorites changed and grew. It's easy to forget that Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America were considered second tier super heroes before MCU. DC and XMen both struggled to get traction because the moment they had something the execs thought people liked, the new movies just kept re-using those same old characters doing the same old thing, to the exclusion of all else.
Whats funny is that these deleted scenes are actually better than the actual movie. They should have just cut apocolypse and made it just watching the xmen kids in the school. That was by far way more fun
I understand why the first Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) was so captivating and well-developed, while this version portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence is so unsatisfactory! Mystique is a cunning character; her power to transform makes her unpredictable. The actress who portrayed the first Mystique, without acting experience, was always depicted with an animalistic facet, adding to her complexity. Both her appearance and feelings were ambiguous. However, with the Mystique portrayed by the Oscar-winning actress, she became a heroine, and automatically, all that ambiguity disappeared.
Rebecca's Mystique that you know and love was the efect of her murdering Trask. With that not happening anymore, well, she's different. Stop whining, simpleton.
That magneto scene being cut out made it better. We can feel his pain better because language isn’t universal but pain is. It felt even more emotional w him k Word every officers right after they k Word his fam
Jubilee has actual character here which is awesome. I hate when editors cut 10 mins of footage that make the characters grow. Like Mileenas in Mortal Kombat, after the cut she had 1 line haha
They could have cut half the fight scene at the end, and it probably would have been more thrilling. Especially since the character development in these early scenes would have made the stakes higher.
Sadly because they introduced Havoc as being a founding member of the X-Men in First Class they made Alex the older brother here, while making Jean and Scott part of the second class.
Bryan Singer should've left the franchise after DOFP Because since he gave everything he had with DOFP, it was a lot harder for him to outdo himself again
Actually I dont know how much Singer had to do with the greatness of DOFP. I seriously have to wonder if Singer used superior storyboards by James Cameron. There are a lot of Cameron tropes in Days of Future Past. There is a huge difference between Days of Future Past and Jack The Giant Killer in quality
DOFP is the best X-men movie and one of the better comic book movies ever. Apocalypse was ok and the ending with everyone in their comic accurate suit would’ve been the best ending. Dark Phoenix was unnecessary.
Apocalypse should have been a 3 part trilogy. The same with the Phoenix saga, 3 parts. Then 3 parts for Dark Phoenix. Cramming 2 of the most iconic storylines together in 1 film is GARBAGE and beyond disrespectful. Thanks hot 20 movies and we get 1 for Apocalypse and 1 1/2 for Phoenix, SHAMEFUL! This was a far cry from Apocalypse with Celestial Technology and near omnipotent. He should have made Sinister and go from there story wise
1) The brotherly relationship would have been nice to see in the movie. 2) The school scene would have made the school explosion even more impactful and gabe Jubilee some much needed screen time. 3) Magneto's cut is the most understandable so far, the Apocalypse scene was amazing and built him up. 4) Hank's cologne and Braddock lines? The Summers brothers' last time seeing one another? SERIOUSLY?! 5) Hank and the glasses was wonderful. Scott and Jean time that shows how Jean appreciates living things but avoids people because of her powers? WHY? 6) Jubilee screen time. Enough said. Scott trying to make a joke about Jean's telepathy? The kids being kids?! Oh yeah Hank and Raven were nice and moody.. no loss there. 7) ESSENTIAL. Kids acting like kids. Scott and Jean flirting. Jubilee and Kurt are amazing. Using powers like teens. 8) Meh, nothing lost. 9) SO SHORT BUT HONESTLY SO MUCH LOST. 10) Are. You. Kidding. Me? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! RELEASE THE SINGER CUT. 11) Cute, woukd probably feel nice. 12) WHY WAS THAT TAKEN FROM ME- US?! The cut Scott and Hank moment? Charles echoing the names Logan told him? Stryker getting arrested?! Release the Singer cut.
I still think the biggest piss-take in this movie is relegating Jubilee to a side character. Great Casting, and Great Design. Too bad Bryan Singer wasted this character...
Loads of these would have been cool to leave in, especially the Mall scene. It could have worked and not upset the pacing. it's just a nice scene where they're doing "normal" things. And Eric singing sorrowfully is powerful, and adds emphasis to why he's so p*ssed off. Definitely would have left that longer version in. The last scene is awesome too.
It's sad because characterization is what was really lacking from the film. Sacrificed for action and cg spectacles, when at this point the core audience really just loves these characters.
Why isn’t all of this included in a directors cut? This is all the parts of the movie that you feel are missing when you watch the movie. The movie always felt over edited. There should be another cut of this film.😊
These scenes never should have been deleted Not when I was tortured with 3 1/2 hours of Avatar and Avatar water. Why ??!! Just why ??!! Who said that X-Men was too long ? They need to go immediately to the Avatar 3 set and start cutting scenes PLEASE 🥺 I BEG OF YOU
The mall scene breaks my heart for not being included!!! It was so fun!! Also, you've never seen peaceful and graceful mutant/human coexistence as much as in that scene!!! Why would they cut it?
With all the platforms and abilities today to do digital viewing and downloads, directors and writers and other people involved in making films should make long custom cuts of the movies. For a really good movie, seeing the extra scenes would be a great idea. Having to go through the POW torture of 210 minutes of Avatar, I REALLY wish someone would have cut 2 hours of that film. Remember when they made movies that are still incredible today and they were 85 minutes long ? Flashdance, so many incredible scenes, and they topd so much in a short time and it was incredible. I really miss those days
Nowadays there are a ton of fan edits of films and TV shows. Like the movie cut of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. There's even a fan edit of X-Men Apocalypse that include all the deleted scenes
My biggest issue with both X-Men series was that they seemed to focus and revolve around single characters. Stewart's X-Men all seemed to revolve around Wolverine, MacAvoy's was around Mystique.....but neither of them were truly major forces in the comics, or driving forces in the X-Men themselves...ESPECIALLY Mystique.
I wish they made an X-men movie focused on the characters in the mansion. I don’t think everything needs to be high stakes “save the world” immediately, especially if there’s a multi-movie deal signed. A lot of the scenes were really good and would’ve made the movie feel richer
Psylocke and angels low screen time is my main problem with the movie. The mcu’s first X-men movie should mostly focus on the big live action X-men with low screen time. I mean angel is a fucking founding member
😂 I think social media taught the world that character development means showcasing their personality in different situations- not just high stress environments fighting villains all the time.
The "You dont know me" scene was a huge mistake to take out. The fact that she easily joined Apocalypse and then changed her mind in the end was so weak that this scene wouldve made all the difference.
I like the deleted scene of Moria arrested Stryker for what he did to her & the X-Men. Stryker is the one who's wrong, not all mutants are bad. The X-Men are the good guys. It's people like Stryker that disgust me.
One of the biggest issues I have with this movie is that Scott Summers is not written in a way that resembles the Cyclops that anyone knows or remembers. Why is he a sort of cocky, rebellious brat? He was never that in anything else, ever.
It amazes me how much they reversed Alex and Scott's personalities. It makes me ask why? Were they trying to make Scott a jerk? Trying to establish that some maturation was needed for him to become the Cyclops we know? Problem is, that was never Scott... he was a boy-scout from day-one. This representation was never accurate. Scott Summers has never really had fair on-screen representation.
Jubilee's non-existent powers in the final film was a complete waste. Assuming solely on fans recognizing her outfit, she served no purpose what so ever. Shame on you, Bryan.
