In the manga, they mentioned most people trapped in the paintings died from starvation, even if you stay in the painting, you still lose all the nutrition you need.
@@frankthetank520 Nah, if I’m withering to death with no way out, I’d rather still feel full. ‘Cause Laios felt and thought he was full after eating that banquet, which means if you’re starving, you still won’t feel it. Softer, more comfortable death that way. Also, if you’re trying to find a way out or contact help somehow, it’s much easier to think and form a plan if you’re not focused on your hunger (although with the downside of having a harder time knowing exactly how close to death you are). I wonder if the painting worlds are just painting worlds or if it’s actually time travel. [Spoilers] The mad mage remembered Laios in a later episode, so either that means the paintings _were_ time travel, or the elf we see in the painting is ALSO the real mage visiting the painting world to reminisce.
I realized now since it’s a hermit crab. So the reason he noticed the smaller box and thought it was a mimic is bc it did the thing hermit crabs do. Move to a bigger shell when the old shell is too small.

@@andreiradu7851 No, bc the tall-men lifespans in Dunmeshi are also ~60. They’re using numbers in a medieval era when medicine wasn’t advanced enough to prolong lives yet. You could probably add 20-30 years to the half-foot and tall-men lifespans to get their modern age ranges.
I think the first episode starts with the castle lore where “it came up in town and the king came out and said help my castle has been taken by my arch wizard.” And the orcs said “whoever kills the wizard is the rightful ruler of the castle and all within it.” So it very well could be the black elf we’ve seen because maybe the new king poisoned the old one and he’s pissed.

The Treasure Bug's behavior is somehow similar to the parasitic wasps. These nasty abominations lay their eggs within other live insects, then those hatchlings will going to eat the host from the inside until maturity to escape and repeat the cycle.
Actually lots of parasitic wasps don’t lay the eggs inside the host, instead many paralyze the host and bury it in a den with the larvae. In those cases the hatched larvae eat the paralyzed bug, then once they’ve grown up on that meal they dig their way out of the burough! These species of wasps are actually super common, but because they don’t bother humans and eat harmful pests we rarely have reason to notice or mess with them.
The thing with the relative ages of the party is fun. By years lived Marcille is the oldest followed by Senshi then Chilchack and Laius is the youngest. By expected lifespans of their race Chilchack at nearly 30 is the oldest followed by Laius in his early 20s, then Senshi(who is a fairly young Dwarf) then Marcille(who is very young for an elf) Also don't worry about the gender of the mystery elf, it was kind of ambiguous(possibly on purpose) in the manga.

The party's ages from youngest to oldest are: Falin 23 Laios 26 Chilchuck 29 Marcille 50 Senshi 112 For their human-equivalent ages, multiply Chilchuck's by 2, divide Marcille's by 3, and divide Senshi's by 4. So the equivalent ages are: Marcille 17 Falin 23 Laios 26 Senshi 28 Chilchuck 58 Despite his baby-face (a common trait of half-foot people) Chilchuck is actually the father of three adult daughters and he wants to retire after this mission to rescue Falin, maybe go work with his oldest, Mayjack, in her lockpick shop. Marcille is a half-elf. That's why her age is divided by 3. Full elves age much slower than her. Marcille's life expectancy might actually be shorter than Senshi's. Heh... Marcille is actually sort of exactly the right age to be Himmel and Frieren's daughter.

Unlike D&D Half-Elves, Dunmeshi Half-Elves are literally superior to the sum of their parts due to hybrid vigor....with one tinie tiny caveat. They're always sterile.
it's explained in the manga that theyre all considered human, and the "human" race is called the tallman. Human is officially regarded as more of a classification of race, theres the humans (tallmen, elves, dwarves, etc) demi-humans (goblins, orcs, kobolds) then the monsters

Laios painting hoping reminds me of Blue's Clues from Nickelodeon, hope they made short animation show adapting the extra chapters of the manga, the living painting episode had a hilarious extra chapter.
The confusion with the Elve's Gender is because all Elves in this show look too girly and beautiful, theyre a race of Twinks. Basically the Manliest Male elf will look less masculine than a feminine Dwarven lady.
