We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.
-
THANK YOU ❗️

1/4 cup olive oil 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil 1/2 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon minced ginger 1 small clove garlic, minced Pinch Kosher salt A few grinds black pepper (I blended all this together with my immersion blender - very fast, very effective, no knife work needed) I just made this tonight because I needed an asian style dressing for a chicken salad. This is a great recipe - a very solid baseline dressing that's infinitely tweakable. I wanted mine spicy so I added a Tbs of sriracha and a tsp of chile flakes 🔥👌, I also snuck in a little fish sauce to adjust the salt and add bonus umami, and a few tsp of hoisin because... flavor. Turned out awesome. Great work, old school Sam.

An Asian friend of mine gave me this recipe except she used it to dip dumplings in, minus the olive oil, Asian dumplings and she also cut up some green onion and a little cilantro. Plus you dont have to put sugar in it either because the ginger gives it a nice flavor. Then I later learned that the Asian people use this for pretty much all kinds of dishes.

i had some amazing Thai dressing in Chiang Dao... it's a small town, and the one restaurant that was open was out of chicken and pork and fish, so they just served us a salad with an amazing vinaigrette/ dressing and some sticky rice... it was pretty awesome been trying to recreate that dressing ever since...gonna see if this gets close

You’re awesome! One advice for you and those watching your vid, ginger can be finely grated (to where you can use only the juice extracted). ✌🏽

Olive oil in Asian dressings? I much prefer something less powerful, maybe avocado oil, so that the other dressings ingredients are not overshadowed by olive oil. Also what's the point of your camera man in the video. You just told him to "back up, back up!" Not very pleasant.

I have a similar recipe that a local Thai Restaurant uses, they have finely chopped garlic and NOT ginger. They use a light vegetable oil instead of Olive oil because olive oil is just too strong. They use a dark sesame oil instead of just regular sesame dressing. They have a lot of black pepper, so see what you like. Also, rice vinegar OR white vinegar can work too and check out different brands of soy sauce. Obviously change things around to see which version you like the most.

The Thai Restaurant I go to uses mixed greens with cherry tomatoes, thin slices of cucumber, thin strips of carrots, and they through some mint leaves in and to me, the mint leaves is a great burst of flavor to the rest of it. They also had char broiled pounded chicken breast that's been marinated in a Thai marinade. I also use Sambal Oelek chili/garlic sauce from Huy Fong, it's great. I can't eat enough of it. Oh, and some cold Soba noodles. Can't forget those..
