Wow what a great farm shop that’s definitely worth a visit what a wide range of goods and so lovely to see all the animals such a great area and plenty of walks and the scenery is great! The site looks great but I agree with you about the pitches seems a strange idea to have hard standing then grass! That afternoon tea looked fabulous and great to see proper china! Scones definitely jam on first then cream the Cornish way!! Great video as ever David and Rachel
Thanks Daniel. The farm shop is amazing - especially if you have had a little lottery win before you go! I can’t understand why there would be grass leading to a hard standing pitch - the only thing we thought is that they are more geared to caravans than camper vans. 🤷♀️ The afternoon tea was beautiful - the place was beautiful and you were made to feel special. I agree - the Cornish way. No way can you put cream then jam - logistically nightmare 😂😂 Rachel & David
The afternoon tea looked stunning. I’m a jam first cream on top type of person. Love a farm shop but they can be very dear. The site looked ok but wouldn’t rush to go because of driving over grass to get to hard standing. Take care Gill

We’ve done a few hard stands that you have to back over grass…. Mad idea. Nice score on the free electric 👍 afternoon tea looked too posh for me, beer and pork scratchings is my favourite afternoon snack 😂
It’s a bit daft isn’t it especially as the ground was soft as it just chews it up. Twice now we’ve scored for free electric - long may it continue 😀. Wow that farmshop had a fantastic selection of goods, I'm sure Daviwould let you have the Highland cow 😂. I get the impression Rachel likes Christmas 😉. Site looks nice with good facilities but shame it's not stoned up to get to the pitch. Afternoon tea looked nice and Roxy sat so cute. Ohh you can't beat a Costa coffee.
Hi Tim, the farm shop is amazing with the food goods being very much like Chatsworth (ie you need to sell a body part to pay for them!) but a lovely place to go and mooch about. The site was better than expected as some of the reviews were iffy - but the facilities were exceptional! I love it before Christmas is here and when you start seeing everything being displayed - but equally I love the house decorations down asap after Christmas 😂😂😂 David has shares in Costa I think! 😂 Rachel & David
We stop at Mainsgill often on our way to Keswick ( except when we’re early) also in Oct. & Thorpe farm on our way back, both do fantastic breakfasts. Also stayed at the Morrit ( pre van) we weren’t impressed with the room but otherwise good. Jules says the Garage spa next door was top notch though.
Mainsgill is an amazing place to mooch about but so expensive. Oh we love the Cafe 66 for breakfast but never tried Mainsgill. Must give it a go! Thank you! We had a quick peek in the spa and it looked awesome! Thanks for the comment x 💕 Rachel & David
Mainsgill always reminds me of Booths, I always keep Mrs K talking when we are passing there as we only went in once and had to sell our villa in Southern France to pay the credit card bill🤣🤣Site looked ok and seemed busy for winter at that price per night Bah Humbug. 😂😂 so you only got a basket not a trolley if you only had to sell your villa 😂😂 I love a good mooch about in Mainsgill but I like to keep my hands in my pockets to stop me spending! It was quite busy still! The leccy lasted all night - I think there was still some left on it when we left! 🙌 love a good bargain like that! Hope you have a good one too Rachel & David x
