(January 2024)
This thing...oh my god. I was pleasantly surprised to find this in here since records said there was a Delta in here. Not too many of these old Dovers are known in the Orlando area, so this was a cool find.
At first glance, this thing seems like it's in great shape. However, once you get inside the cab, the trouble begins. You're greeted with a nice sign over the elevator permit stating that the elevator permit is delinquent, meaning the owner hasn't paid for the elevator permit and had the elevator inspected in several years, which are leading to pending charges by the state of Florida. Looking under the sign, you can see that this elevator hasn't been inspected since 2019 (that's 5 years!!!!)
I thought that this thing was perfectly fine until I went back down to 1. This thing pulled a total US Bank Webster Groves (if you know what I mean), and wouldn't go back down to the first floor! I got stuck playing a game of going back up and downstairs several times, until I was able to escape on the second floor.
If you call the elevator on the first floor, it comes down fine, so I'm sure there's a bad relay or 2 that's causing this. However, if you weren't expecting this (like I was), you could be in for a scary ride!
This thing just needs some attention, but sadly it doesn't look like it's going to get it anytime soon. This whole place is quite sketchy as a whole, and it seems that little care is put into keeping the building up to code. There is another building here with an identical elevator, except that one actually runs as it's supposed to. I'll have to eventually come back here and see how this thing is doing!
