Dan my husband is currently on a load that delivers to a major electronics retailer. High dollar and everyone involved is absolutely paranoid. He drove 750 miles like a crazy man and got there a day early... because he had this feeling that he was airtagged and... well He's carrying and law or not someone tries to highjack him they will be on the wrong end of things... if you know what I mean. They used to have that problem when delivering Chevy Corvettes from the Kentucky factory to the west coast, people stealing parts off the trailered cars. They now have two in the cab and they only stop for bathroom breaks and take-out food. If they had to stop overnight they'd go to specific Chevy dealerships in the area they were in that had approved security. That was 20 years ago, not sure how they do it today.

@@crosslink1493 I crossdocked containers in LA in the 90s... hijacks on the 710 everyday until one day a Mexican national driver of ours or so we heard... pulled a sawed off Shotgun out and blasted these guys . there were fatalities. The CHP asked if anyone saw anything no one came forward. Things quieted down for a while...

A week and a half ago I received a letter from a debt collector with a balance of just over $2,000. And I knew this wasn’t possible. In one sentence it stated that if I wanted to know the name of the creditor I needed to call a number that was provided. If I owed someone wouldn’t I know who it is ? Watch out for this scam also.

The Post Office had been telling its patrons to "watch out for their mail carriers" 3 decades ago, especially on the days the welfare checks came out to be delivered on the 1st and the 15th & to call the police if they saw their carrier being accosted, robbed or assaulted. So this has been going on for decades.. I was assaulted outside a Walmart in the parking lot and was beat up quite badly. The police investigator said Walmart gives its customers a false sense of security with their security cameras outside their buildings, as there was no film inside of them. I have not gone back to a Walmart since. The police investigator told me that there were too many women being assaulted, beat up, raped and kidnapped now and that the police cannot keep up and protect us all, so he advised me to carry a concealed weapon, which he helped me get a permit to carry. And I did carry for 10 years... I am seriuously considering going down that route again..

A friend of mine took her boyfriend to work this morning at 6:00 am. She drops him off, drives home, parks his GMC Pickup truck and goes into the house. At 9:15 AM she goes out to get into the truck to head off to work herself, and it was gone. She checked and made sure she had both sets of keys which she did so she didn't leave them in the truck. The truck got stolen. I got a call at 9:30 asking if I could take her to work this morning, which I did.

UPDATE EAST SAINT LOUIS ILLINOIS FOOD STAMP OFFICE had a customer act up in the office yesterday. No details provided to us. I waited outside for one and a half hours in the hot sun to see my caseworker sabout my medical case before they allowed the rest of us to go inside of the building.

In Michigan the majority of school districts have terminated almost every trades related shop class. It is so pathetic that 90%+ are unlikely to know how to read a tape measure or twist a screw, or even pound a nail. Called city but they haf no workers scheduled to be there so they sent a police car to check, van drove off solo n no clue where the 5 men went.

In the mid 70s I was running multi ton punch presses making industrial kitchen equipment. Then I learned how to set up punch presses notching and hole punching,t setting up progressive molds. Notch,cut,hole punch,and form. Very noisy and dangerous. Still have all 10 of my fingers. 🤚✋ Mainly 10-12 gauge steel.

Our community has a No Solicitation ordinance for residents who want to participate and register. We were getting so many solicitors over the years and I stopped answering the door to just anybody years ago. I’m glad they have this ordinance now, however, solicitors need to go to our city hall or police station prior to soliciting to obtain the list of residents who they can’t solicit. Some don’t do that and if they come to your home, you contact the police who will come out to confront them with a warning of a fine or charges if they don’t obey this ordinance.

I would get a horse and buggy before I would get an Electric Vehicle. At least if my horses over heat I can get them a drink of cold water and some shade. If an Electric vehicle over heats it's a Car bomb on wheels.
