The driver of an Evri lorry which got stuck on Bristol's steepest street has been suspended while the delivery company investigates the incident. The Hermes vehicle, which has since rebranded to Evri, blocked Vale Street today (Tuesday, January 9) after it got wedged against the Tarmac this afternoon.
Pictures and footage from the scene of the incident show the Evri lorry at the bottom of the steep hill, blocking the road to other motorists. A spokesperson for Evri says the driver has been suspended and the vehicle is due to be removed. Recovery of the stricken lorry was well under way by 5pm today and completed by 6.30pm.
