Both UEFI and BIOS are low-level software that starts when you boot your PC before booting your operating system, but UEFI is a more modern solution, supporting larger hard drives, faster boot times, more security features, and-conveniently-graphics and mouse cursors. By default, many system use BIOS and will default back to BIOS in case of the system options resetting. This video shows how to setup on a dell E6420 the low level initialization to UEFI and some of the other options to be aware when making changes.
