I replaced a screen from an Inspiron 7000 series using in part your video instructions. After seeing others performing your same procedure I find your way more complicated than what needs to be. Not only incomplete but much more complicated. I did not want to be the one giving your first thumbs down since you were kind enough to share the initial steps.
@@dellpartspeople I think he meant how when you order the part, you still need to go beyond the instructions of the video to replace the part within the computer's bezel.
I have a Inspiron 7348 with a cracked screen... is it pretty much the same steps as this 7347? Not sure why the negative comments... I have been repairing computers/laptops for years and I thought this video was very well done, thanks!
Yeah the 7347 and 7348 should have all the same screw locations. I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments either. I guess it's because some people think this is to show how to dissemble the dizitizer and the touchscreen when it actually just shows how to remove assembly from the base. RU-vid can be fickle sometimes.
Any ideas on why my touchscreen quit working? Took it apart to replace a broken hinge (managed to do it without pulling the battery, fan main cable or heat sync) and everything works but the touch screen, checked, double checked and triple checked all the cable connections, everything seems tight. Then followed these instructions to check again and came up with "no boot device". Finally got it to boot after messing with the boot settings but bloody hell!!
Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2in1 (Gold) and got a crack in front glass but touch on the screen and everything else still works fine. Do i still need to replace the whole touch screen or can i find just the front glass? Thank you
+Indomitable Fear Not sure but I just ended up disabling the touch screen service and using mouse only. I need to do this because my laptop wont close properly anymore. One of the hinges wont move.
Hi. I have this piece of crap and I sent it twice to dell to fix the ghost touch issue. Now, the touch screen is not working and I can't find any hid compliance touch screen drive (it is not there). Moreover, the compass was not working as well, but when I opened up the monitor I saw that there was one connector not connected to the compass. I checked all the other connectors and they were tight. Do you think that it is a software or a cable issue? Do you think that the driver is not there because the touch screen is not connected? Thanks for your help
This shows how to remove the display assembly. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yWGsTcunW-8.html And this is a manual for the actual touchscreen, unfortunately I don't have a video for that. blog.parts-people.com/2016/07/11/dell-inspiron-15-7558-p55f001-lcd-touchscreen-assembly-removal-and-installation/
thanks a lot! wanted to ask another thing, since i was talking to Dell and they said there is no possible to disassemble the screen and i would have to buy the complete one with the case and all, is it true?
Hi, I have this model of laptop and just got it back from warranty repairs for a faulty touchscreen. While they fixed the screen it seems that they did not replace one of the magnets in the top left hand corner of the display that allow the two halves of the laptop of close together securely. As such, the left hand side not remains open by about a 1/4 inch when the display is closed while the right side closes all the way. Even though they broke it Dell told me they won't cover the repair. Is there an easy way to get behind the display's bezel so I can replace it myself and if so are you aware if there is a specific type of magnet I would need to replace the now missing one?
It's impossible for me to tell you. So far, we've seen 7 different part numbers for this laptop. What you can do is go here www.parts-people.com/ and have it look up your Service Tag. It should list you screen part number for you.
It's the complete touchscreen assembly removal not the reassembly of the touchscreen. We have it this way because removing the actual screen is very difficult and it's easy to damage other parts.
