This video is amazing. You helped me open a laptop and replace the ram for the first time ever. gave me the confidence to upgrade a second pc recently. This is what RU-vid is for. Love it.
Hello. First of all, thank you. With your passion and curiosity, I got the upgrade information for the Dell 5620 model that I was going to purchase, and I bought the product and other upgrade parts together. Thank you
About to buy one of these for my MIL and the base config only has 8GB and for the 16GB option, adds another $450 (with 1TB SSD and Ryzen 7). I think I will just pay the $40 for 8GB of Crucial memory. Thanks for the step by step!!! I can buy it knowing I can do the upgrade easily.
This is the second time I have watched this video (great, by the way) but wonder if it wouldn't be easier to re-attach the antennae to the Wlan card before pushing it back in to the slot? I received a new Dell in this series earlier this year and made one immediate upgrade to it using this video as a guide to open the computer and make my upgrade. The video and clear explanation made the upgrade very easy. (This is a few days after my initial posting and I received a replacement Wlan card today to replace the one giving me trouble. There is more than enough extra wire on the antennae leads to allow you to re-attach them to the before before reinserting the board in the slot. It is still a bit fiddley but much easier than trying to attach the wires to a card that is flexing up and down in the card slot). Thanks for the video.
Thank you The most needed upgrade for this laptop is a numerical keyboard. Did they go crazy? 16" laptop without numerical Keys? It could be the perfect laptop
Hello, I'm considering buying this model but I saw some people complaining about the quality control issues such as malfunctioning trackpad and overheating problems. Should I look for a different model? I'm considering this laptop because it has 16:10 aspect ratio screen, a backlit keyboard and a fingerprint scanner. More expensive offerings I've seen don't have all these features at the same time, so giving up on this laptop because of the quality issues would be such a bummer for me.
Thank you for your tutorial video which I found very useful, since I have the same Laptop. My question is if my laptop comes with 8 GB RAM can I upgrade it to a 16GB by adding just another 8GB or do I need to buy a 16GB to upgrade it ?
It might have 2x4gb, then you will have 12gb at most. Also another thing to consider is - sticks best work if they are identical. So it is usually better to get the same pair and sell those that you had.
Great video, I have 16 5620, it came with one 8gb memory stick. If I add another 8gb to the other slot will it automatically be dual channel 32gb. What kind of wireless speed do you get on 5ghz & 2.4 Why would someone want to replace it. Thank you.
In the dell documentation pdf I have seen this model has two M2 pcle SSD slots one is 2230 and another slot is 2280. But you showed here that this model has only one SSD Slot
Very nice and detailed review. Can you confirm what is the sound ic that is mentioned for this Dell Inspiron 5620 i5 model by going to BIOS setup as my friend has bought it and it shows Realtek ALC3204. Whereas when you read the documentation of system, it shows Realtek ALC3254.
I have a review of the Inspiron 16 5620 here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ng2sH__uGk8.html This is the same spec, only with the i5-1235U as opposed to the i3 - Dell don't offer the i3 model here in the UK.
Please help! I've bought this laptop recently inspiron 16 5620.. The left side of the laptop is getting kind of warm although the fan is working. Additionally, air is not coming out of the left vent. Is that normal? I'm so confused💔
What can you say about display quality on 5620/5625? I assume it is a TN. And 45% NTSC sounds terrible on a paper. But how it turns out in a real life? Can you confirm it is a TN? And what I noticed that with i5-1235U there is an option to get 300nit display with "comfortview plus" instead of "comfortview" on amd. Which means screens can be different. And even of a different type. But no guarantees it will be noticeable better. Or just pay a bit more and get "Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro" with IPS and 100% sRGB. IDK.
The panel is a WVA type, not TN. 45% NTSC is ~62% sRGB. We only get the 250 nit panel on the models here in the UK. Its ok, but if display quality is your priority it sounds like the Lenovo might be a better choice.
2 x 16GB modules should work absolutely fine - you may even find 2 x 32GB modules work. I use Crucial DDR4-3200 modules (Amazon Affiliates link): amzn.to/3zYSttV
