This is a perfect laptop for students and for budget conscious consumers looking for an inexpensive alternative to what is usually available in the marketplace with a decent port selection, user upgradeability, crisp 1080p webcam and mic array included in the overall package. The quad speaker quality is better than average so that's also a plus. The increase in battery life from last year's model is noteworthy as well. My only gripe with this laptop is the less than 300 nits of brightness on the display but other than that, it's a decent laptop. Excellent review Andrew and welcome back!! 👍😁
Thank you for explaining this, your review was good, ahh I would always turn to my uncle as he knew a lot about computers so which one I should get but he passed away 3 yrs ago and just listening to your talk reminded me of him he used explain exactly the same in details 🥺 thank you
This laptop is the best I've ever owned. And this is coming from Alienware, top teir MSI's, etc. It just has the right blend of everything. Also, the total TGP of the 4060 is 70W. I know that Dell state 60W, however Nvida Control Panel reports 70W and this can be achieved in synthetics like FurMark. I've not seen it hit 70W whilst gaming however.
I've see you compare it with the slim pro 9i, how do you think about the thinkbook 16 g5+(16inch, r7840h, gpu 780m) with more connect out put. Both of them is 16 plus and i don't know what i should choose 😢 I'm a developer will using a long day so i'm really worry about their heat which now through to the screen.
An affordable powerhouse with Dell's usually terrible quality control. I went through 3 of these and each one of them had issues with display, keyboard, touchpad, and fans. Buyer Beware of Dell's usual quality control BS.
Hi Andrew. I am almost one the edge of buying this unit. But I have question I can’t find anywhere. The Thunderbolt port has power delivery. Does this mean you can charge the laptop with a Thunderbolt dock? I can’t find if this is possible or not. Hope you can help, and your reviews are so well made. Thanks.
when talking about gaming on a laptop GPU....it's really helpful if you say what the voltage is of said GPU....kinda really really matters doesn't it. but that's pretty obvious isn't it.
Another great review, I love your reviews! Dell - I had so much trouble with getting service from Dell in Australia. My first laptop would not start up, it was replaced, the second one worked for a few hours then died. Dell have a bad reputation here. I paid for a charger and it wasn’t sent out. I couldn’t get it sent out, or get an explanation, weeks later I requested a refund. I bought a generic charger, it was good for a year, the screen would get large dots and freeze. I had to keep shutting the lid and powering it up again. My Dell did last about six years, bits started to fall off after a year, the rubber buffers and screen surround plastic and it got HOT, the touch screen was too touchy, it drove me mad, the on/off button was on the side. Now the Cntl button is faulty and I need a new laptop.
Nice machine, reasonably priced. I had the Inspiron 16 Plus 7610, but had to return it due to a faulty touchpad, something that plagued this model. I like that the video output ports are not hardwired to the Nvidia GPU on these models (I'm assuming it's the same on the 7630). Hopefully the 7630 won't have the touchpad problem the 7610 had.
@@Railmantrihaazipur On the 7610 is was definitely a hardware issue. Some folks posted a fix for it on RU-vid - it involves running a wire from the touchpad to the frame in order to ground it.
Thank you! From the intel website, the i7 13700 can support up to 5200htz, but dell manual shows only support 4800 htz ddr5 ram, do you have any idea why?@@tomandanteborolas
I just discovered your channel, then I subscribed quickly. Can you please do a review of the MSI Prestige 16 Studio A13VF-039US please? I really don't know which one to choose between it and thar Dell.
just say what panel it is. why is it always that hard to find out all the specs of a laptop. contrast ratio of 1000:1 that sounds like an average ips panel. but not everyone knows that and can just find out by listinging to numbers that for most ppl don't mean anything.
Great review as always! I would humbly request you review the Thinkbook 16p gen 4, because it feature the 40 series gpus and the same display as those legion 7 laptops (3.2K 165hz), and seems to look very similar thermally to the gen 7 legion 7. It was on offer for about £1280 for the 4060 variant with an i5-13500H, and the gpu is able to draw the full 100W!
Graphics is a big one you didn’t mention along with the processor, windows 11 or 11 Pro makes a small difference. Brand screen size and resolution, frame rate, and battery size.
Hi there! At the beginning of the video,, you said it has 120hz refreshing rate, but I am checking dell's website and I can't find that anywhere. Could you confirm? I am evaluating it for purchase
Good to see you back AMD 🙌 Nice review! Makes we wonder why anyone would buy anything from the Latitude range when the Inspiron does it all and for a lot less money too. Also, the Inspiron has the excellent H series Intel CPUs, where as the Latitudes are hamstrung with the truly awful U series.
besides 16 plus and 16 2-in-1 i found inspiron 16 2.5k 3050. Is it the same as the other two in terms of display quality? I would be very grateful if you could respond quickly sir because i am about to buy a laptop🙏
Can someone advise me if this machine is capable of handling architectural rendering using escape or lumion? Am thinking of this instead of gaming laptops ( I don’t fancy the look of gaming laptops 😂)
Nice PC for the price. Camera and mics were both good. Speakers sounded okay although a little flat. Like the upgradeability with this. No soldered ram etc. Since users of this will be using this with Office it would have been nice to put a full size numpad on this unit. It appears that even though they put a 4060 graphics card in this since it is only running at 65 watts this is more of a selling point for this unit. In reality it replaces the EVO type graphics that other units have. If this unit had this card running at higher wattages then it would obviously perform better for more highly intensive programs such as gaming etc. The one downside of running this card with a higher wattage gpu is then this unit would probably need a higher wattage power brick which means more weight. Any way another great review.
Hey Andrew thanks for all the content. Quick question. I recently purchased an Asus Vivobook that comes with a 120hz display. While I know how to toggle the refresh rate on advanced display settings, is there a way to keep the 120hz as the "stock" setting? It reverts back to 60hz on startup every time Thanks again for all ya work 👍
I have this laptop but i’m not getting same cinebench r23 benchmark as shown in the video 8:01 . Andrew I’m not understanding why is it so. Can you explain?
Another amazing review. Quick question, as you tested both. In terms of longevity (buildt quality), and thermal solutions which laptop would you recommend, Dell 7630 (13700H, rtx 4060) or Zbook fury g9 (i5 12600hx, rtx a2000 8gb). Thank you and keep up the good work.
How hot does it get mate? I ordered it with same specs . Does the fans don’t work as they should plus can we play games like rdr2 2 times a months that’s it . And what’s with the heating bro
Thanks for your fantastic review, I am stoked after just ordering this rig for $1099 through an employee discount program. I understand the sound is not fantastic, so I am wondering if you could suggest a good set of speakers to add for more of a home entertainment type setup. I have a big tv in my living room with a subwoofer, but I also do watch a lot of videos and films, games in my office so I would appreciate a higher quality sound.
the battery looks easily removeable. are there usually parts available for inspiron 16 plus's? where spare batteries available for the 7610 soon after it came out?
It’s really good my only issue with it is that it really tries its hardest to use integrated graphics instead of the gpu. But once you figure it out it’s great.
I have the 2021 version of this laptop and it was great until it wasn't. Hinge failure, trackpad issues etc. all very common, go read the forums. Then the laptop randomly died on me after I finally fixed the trackpad. The 2023 model seems to have an improved trackpad, but I can see that the hinges are the same as the older model. I am never buying a 'consumer' or 'budget friendly' Dell product ever again. The XPS is already notorious for QC issues, so what more the Inspiron? It's either Precision or Latitude but honestly, I'm very sceptical of Dell nowadays and will stay away unless I have a very good deal.
Same here. Fortunately I have extended warranty. I've replaced (under warranty) my track pad three time in 18 months... It has failed again and Dell is replacing it for this new version. Hopefully they have fixed the track pad issue.
