Is the screw that holds to drive in place already installed? It is located in the middle (of the bottom of the laptop) straight back from the CD drive. Remove the screw and then slide the CD drive back in.
Hello! What would be the process for fitting an M.2 2280 SSD into the HDD area? would it fit directly into that cable and would it need a caddy? Thank you!
@@BrueComputing Thanks! In one of your dell insprion 3593 videos, you mentioned that you could use the optical drive to fit another ssd. I have a 256GB NVMe PCIE SSD on hand right now, would that process be complicated? If I can avoid returning this drive I just bought I'd be really happy. Thanks again for your speedy reply!
You can fit that drive to replace the main M.2 drive, but if you fit a drive in the 2.5" or optical bays then they are SATA - an NVMe drive isn't, so won't work.
Excellent video, thanks for taking the time to make it. I'm upgrading the RAM and SSD in my friends one right now and wouldn't have thought to take the dvd drive out
I use this same laptop daily. I use the 250 GB ssd for the operating system (Windows 11) only and a 2TB Sata hdd for software and data. This allows the OS to boot up quickly. Works very well for my purposes.
10Q; nvr thought or considered disconnecting the battery before working on equipment including automobiles, seriously thank you, apparently I shorted my phones mother board and replacement screen not following the rule😌now forced to save 800$ for replacement.
