Great video. Love the real time. Gave me the confidence to tear into it. Everything worked just as you said. I'm a new subscriber. Its a bit harder than the laptops with all the easy off doors on the back side. You did a great job of explaining as you went along. Love the fact the video was about the the tear down and not about you. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the video. These laptops need 16gb ram. 8gb don't cut it. The upgrade made a difference. The DRAM must have been the bottleneck. It's not a bad laptop for the price.
Me too and I've been repairing other peoples laptops, printers and computers for many years. Sometimes I find myself being humbled (and clueless) when a new piece of technology comes my way 😊.
Thanks Dale. I have a customer with the same laptop who's out of space (128 just isn't enough). Always good to see what I'm dealing with before I go in!
Thank you so much, Sir! You just saved my life. Only couldn’t agree about calling my fundamental work tool a “little spatula”, but that was worth a good laugh!
Hey I'm planning to throw another 8gb stick in my 3583, curious if they're very picky about what you put in. Will any compatable stick work or does it need to perfectly match the other?
i'm not an expert, but as long as the frequency and size is the same, it should be fine, for a better performance i also reccomend getting one with the same clock speed, but if you're asking for the best option, i'd say you should buy 2 new ones from a single package (2x8), or at least buy the exact same model as yours, to find it, you could open your laptop, and get the part number, or get it using CPU-z software
Hello and a great thanks for your video. The version I have came with Intel Celeron, please would you be able to tell if there's an m2 slot and whether it's supported. Also I plan on add an m.2 ssd and installing windows to it...will that work?
Not sure if you had got an answer by now but My Dell Inspiron 3583 must be the same version as yours as it came with Intel Celeron CPU 4205U @ 1.80 GHz & I have asked a couple computer repair guys if the Crucial P3 500gb PCIe 3.0 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD I’m going to get will work & both of them told me that yes, it’ll work as this Dell laptop does have a required M.2 slot needed to install it.
my computer is shot. It's the same one you have but it has a mechale drive. can i replace the mechanical drive with a SSD are add a m.2 500 gb ssd and what would be compatible with this computer. I'm thing about to drives one for the operating system and one for storage
Can you upgrade the GPU card of Dell Insipiron 3583? I have checked the manual and it says it can be upgradable to AMD Radeon 520? Can you anyone confirm?
I upgraded my SSD for my Inspiron 3583 a year ago, but I found that the bottom left corner of the laptop gets hot. I just found out about heatsinks after upgrading my PS5 SSD, so do I need a heatsink for the laptop?
@Cadillac Computer Center. Hi, I bought this model last year, BTW, Mine was only $208.00 out the door. I just got around to checking which M.2 SSD it takes. My Inspiron 13-7378 takes the SATA M.2 SSD, not the NVMe like the model you're working on. I am puzzled why a Dell Inspiron that runs 50% less than a 13-7378 would take the faster 2 M.2 NVMe SSD, when the 13-7378 would take the slower M.2 SATA SSD. At any rate, I had a 256gb M.2 2280 Samsung NVMe SSD I bought last year & wanted to turn the M.2 SSD into the OS drive & keep the 1TB HDD that came with it as a storage drive, so I'd be doing what you're doing. ***My question for you is, I can either use Acronis True Image & clone the OS over to the 256 M.2, or just do a clean install of Windows onto it. Then that comes to the 2nd part of the question. Is it hard to do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro? I've had bad luck with other newer laptops when it came to doing a clean install of 7. Why is that? I did make the Windows Install on a usb drive but on the Lenovo ThinkPad, it just wouldn't recognize the USB drive, or thumb drive... Why is that I wonder. I may have been making a mistake, I don't know. I was just trying to stay away from windows 10 if possible.. Thanks for a right to the point video. It would have been cool to see how you did your clean install. Perhaps I look to see if you have another video on it. Thanks again, Dan
i got the inspiron 15 but 3580 with w/dvd , i have 4 gb mem upgrading to 12 or 16 mem & 1tb hdd, whats the advantage of having both the 2.5 hdd & m.2 ssd & do u need to upgrade both ? or just one ?,,, or should i just upgrade to ssd drive only ?,,,,,,,,thank you
Hi! I have a question, I have the same computer and I want to add a ssd m2 pcie, it is avaliable to my computer? I read some forums and i think that it is avalible. Other question, would i have to remove the hhd to put the ssd?
Great Video. I am having a problem upgrading RAM. I bought new 8 gig ram and installed it to make 16 gig. But my laptop wouldnot run. When I use only old one it runs. Any solution for this? I heard about BIOS reset and stuffs but I dont know how?
I have a dell inspiron 3583 put in the upgrade memory, no problem, thank you. However I can not find in Bios how to upgrade to the default 2133 to the 3200
Unfortunately, a laptop like yours does not have a setting like that in bios. Windows will read speed of ram at what ever speed the bios sees it. If you mix a higher speed ram with lower speed. It will default to lowest speed. Not much you can do Unfortunately.
does it possible to add a ssd hard drive (the one that doesn't have a moving part) on the hdd slot (the square thingi, not the rectangular shape one that looks like a gum, idk the term) if yes can you provide a link of the ssd hard drive. Thanks btw I'm not familiar on their names, I just know what it looks like, and sorry for my bad English and confusion
Is this hard drive compatible? : www.amazon.com/-/es/MTXtec-MQ01ABD-Disco-duro-interno/dp/B009AYVNMQ It is that since it is 0.37 inches thick, I have doubts if it fits or not in this laptop.
A clean install of Windows 10. I'll be like a new computer, so you'll need to reinstall your software and configure your preferences. This is assuming you change out the NVME drive like he did, which holds the operating system. If you simply need more space, you could just add a 2.5" drive to the expansion slot, avoiding the need to reinstall the OS. Of course, you'll need to configure your computer to use the new drive in the manner you'd like, , e.g. move the desktop, Documents, Pictures, etc. folders to the new drive.
Hello my friend. You know, I have a 3583 too but manual says that slot is for an intel optane up to 16gb with no more info about it. Can you confirm I can install a 256gb adata nvme, install windows there and then boot?
you should be able to install new nvme pci-e ssd into slot where optane is installed. make sure to disable intel rapid storage technology, either in bios or with intel IRST app
Hi. If your careful and do not damage anything, you should be fine. You can check with Dell in their support forums for more info. When we do any internal upgrades on new laptops in our store, we assume all responsibility for warranties. Dale
If you install the m.2 drive only, you will need to boot from a usb windows 10 install drive to do a clean install of windows 10. You should not have to do anything in bios. Assuming you have this model. Thx
Please help me sir, I have just bought this laptop Can I use Western Digital WD Green 240 GB M.2 2280 SATA Internal Solid State drive and A-DATA 4GB DDR4 2400 Mhz Premier Laptop RAM.
i have same laptop and i don't know your laptop also has or not amd proccessor but my laptop has and, its getting too hot, i'm only using for browser, and my laptops tempature is getting about 60-70 Celcius with no reason, i'm using in balance mod btw, do you got any tip for me
Hi. AMD cpu's tend to run on the hot side. Your laptop should be opened up, like I did in the video and have the cooling fan cleaned out. It's not to difficult to do. Or, your fan may be malfunctioning as well. If Alot of dust and debris builds up on fan blades, it will restrict cooling. Dale
@@CadillacComputerCenter I am trying to install a hard drive. My Dell is this same exact one as this one in the video. But it keeps just giving me a blank screen every time I put in the 1 tera btye hard drive. Do I need to install an OS on the hard drive? Any help would be extremely welcome.
Watch the video closely, if you have this same model, you can disconnect battery 2 ways. If your just installing a 2.5 inch drive, if your VERY careful, dont touch anything on mainboard, you should be fine.
