Something which was not shown (nor is mentioned in the official Dell disassembly steps) and that is relevant is that when removing the bottom panel there is a plastic claw locking into a metal pin in the chassis/case. I had to put A LOT of force (something which is advised against when disassembling a laptop ) in order to remove it. Hope someone finds this comment useful
Yeah its in the middle, i had to check a lot with a light what was inisde, at some point i thought it was glue that the bulider left but well then i guess i pushed more and it got suddenly open. Not relaxing like my old e6410 that only has a single screw and it slides to open perfectly, this one has cheaper plastic.
Hi! Great Video. Very useful. Did you have problems with overheating? I can see in the video that a cable and some kind of battery is under the M.2 Ssd. Can the cable melt down?
So far no overheating, the pice of m.2 is cheaper, there are various speed versions . I got the one with 3500mbps. For half the price you may get the 2000mbps speed m.2 ssd
Should the battery connector be removed prior to performing the SSD and M.2 upgrade? I've seen come other videos recommending this steps to be taken prior to the upgrade.
Yes Only when the connector is removed, we can disarm the screws of the laptop. Hence its always advisable to remove it. But to test whether the SSDs are workingk we have briefly connected the battery again.
Great video, thank you for sharing. I was looking at this model for my daughter since she's only 8.. she's a bit of a power user in short but I am glad to see this model is easily upgradeable. The 7410 we just got at work isn't. The ram is built in thus not a cheap proposition. The 7400 like I own is but it's insanely priced. Especially right now. So thank you. Be blessed and merry Christmas.
Great video Couple of questions tho. For the Dell latitude 3510. Dell says u can't have both SATA HDD and nvme SSD in the system together. Why is that?
Hola tengo una Dell 3410 i5 10210u con disco duro de 1 TB, que disco ssd le puedo poner sin quitar el original para utilizarlo con sistema operativo y el original solo para guardar archivos
@Engineering Clinic, Sir I've got latitude 3410 i3 10th gen 14'' model with 1TB HDD and 4 GB of ram, Can I insert SSD in it without removing the HDD ? And what type of SSD would you suggest me to upgrade?

Hello Aravind! You will be able to insert SSD 2230/2280 Nvme factor, this will allow you to add the SSD without removing the HDD. Hope this comment doesn't get too late!
Usually Dell Systems use Bitlocker Encryption in the Hard Disk or SSD. SSDs handle the encryption and decryption faster. One method is you can disable bit locker encryption. In this Dell laptop also, while bit locker was enabled, the booting process takes take more time, sometimes in 10 minutes also.. but after SSD even if you enable the bitlocker, the booting process takes just not more than 10 seconds... in this video, bit locker is enabled, still the booting takes just 7 seconds.
@@tspradeepkumar hello I need help, I have this laptop. I did the cloning of the hdd with macrium reflect but I could not clone the dell partition and the recovery one, now I have problem with certain functions such as the camera and the windows update, any suggestions?
Hey thanks for your video. I have a question. I upgraded my Latitude 3510 a week ago by using V-gen hyper 512GB NVme. But, everytime i install the OS, after like 1-2 days the system cant boot the OS. first, i think the SSD and broken. I claimed my warranty and got a new SSD. But th3 same problem happened again. What is the root cause of this problem if u can help me? Thanks!
You may check the booting screen and go to the bios settings ans select the storage option with AHCI or RAID. For my case when I see the ahci, I can boot Linux, RAID for windows
I need your help. we bought around 10nos 3410 laptop this months. but it gives blue dump and automatically restart and showing hardware scan complete successfully . already changed SSD and M2 SSD also. all possible things we did. but still waiting for solutions.
Did you tried the steps, You might have installed windows using a MBR boot. But it should be installed using a GPT boot, In case to boot to windows. go to the BootLoader -> Storage -> Select AHCI instead of RAID, then save it and try... It should work. I run Windows and Ubuntu in the same Way. Windows works with RAID and linux works with AHCI...
Sir I want to upgrade ssd in dell 3410 i3 Ubuntu notebook which is already with 1tb hdd pls pls tell me which brand and model ssd will be perfect pls revert
First you can disable the Bitlocker Encryption to make your system faster and you can add teh following SSD (M.2 Version) along with the Hard Disk amzn.to/3lFTJr0
It's very difficult to understand, as your English is not good enough to speak that fast (and carelessly). Might be better if there was NO USELESS music interfering with your voice . . .
enable captioning.... and sorry for the music... this video is recorded initially for my own use so that in the future I can do any updates... but uploaded with the music. So just make myself understand what each component refers to, so I voiceover in a faster way.... But this model laptop is obsolete now.....
@@tspradeepkumar i am asking 12gb(4gb & 8gb) on 2 slot, bcs i see on the intel website it only can configure 4gb,8gb,16gb,32gb. But i see on the online shop that has sell 12gb ram on this laptop and im confused right now..
