Just got this monitor less then 2weeks ago. All I can say it’s amazing. The FPS is amazing I’m currently gaming on a Xbox series S. The monitor is 1440p and 144hz but unfortunately the Xbox series s DOESN’T run at 1440p at 120FPS. It ONLY runs at 1020p and 120FPS. So far I came from gaming on a 60in 4K Samsung TV and it was good playing games on. I do play a lot of call of duty and mortal kombat. Specially got it for Ranked in MW2 and the smoothness I get from it compared to my 4K tv is amazing. I’m winning most of my gun fights now and I switched back to my TV just for the hell of it and damn what was I thinking gaming on it? Lmao it’s crazy but I got the monitor for $280 after taxes and delivery. Worth every penny so far and this is just my first gaming monitor and couldn’t be anymore happier w it -update I got it to run 1440p at 120FPS on the Xbox series S. I went to “video fidelity & overscan” then change the display from “HDMI” to “auto detect” then went back to the resolution area and put it from 1080p to 1440p.
Yes man i trusted u and i bought this monitor Dell and the results is u have right excellent review i love this monitor 4days now i dont want leave my eyes from Dell..is curved as u need is fast as IPS...have deep black big different!!! Thank u for your time Keep going!!!
Thank you so much! This review helped me a ton. I was really worried about the ghosting when I saw it was a VA panel, but you but my fears at ease. Thank you!
I think you just helped me decide on a monitor. So much information out there, but you gave me the basics I really needed in a simple, clear, informative manner. Thank you.
@@samuellp1146 I did! I really like the easy to adjust height and tilt. And the curve is nice but not overwhelming. I don't competitively game, but it helps make Cyberpunk 2077 really pop off the screen. It's a really good monitor. I appreciate this video helping me to decide!
@@Easy.Ice. it fits my needs, but I’m just a ps5 gamer. Perfect size and smoothness. Not top of the line resolution, but still great. I’m completely used to the curved borders, I can’t tell you how that benefits me.
It would be nice to have this monitor with an hdr model, it would definitely make this monitor one of the top out there, the contrast ratio really makes up for that though
@@left4hash317 yes but this is an ips monitor, i think people here are looking for a va monitor to have the best contrast ratio which is important for solo games
Never seen a decent HDR implementation in a non-FALD LCD display. All these HDR400 and HDR600 certifications are basically rubbish. I guess with 10bit color depth and its ~400nits plus 3000:1 contrast ratio it could been a decent HDR panel when it comes to color width and accuracy but that's it, I won't magically improve picture range. By the end of the day you would've to pay a lot more for HDR branding and certification while not really benefitting from it unlike you're doing some semi-professional color works but then again you probably buy a cheaper 2nd monitor which excels in this catagory.
@@KolnFriedChickenhello. I just got this Dell d2722gdm. I use a console. I don’t have a gaming PC but I’ve a laptop. I just wanted to ask if upgrading the drivers is necessary since I don’t play on PC. Will it have a change on the console gaming experience or just PC
@@elijnr there're no such thing as drivers for monitors. Maybe you can update the firmware but that shouldn't be necessary (if possible) either. I hope you have fun with your new display.
@@NoviPlayz I’m sorry to bother you bro. But I just got this about 3 days ago. I use a Ps5 and I don’t have a gaming PC. Although I’ve a laptop. I was just asking if it would be necessary for me to upgrade the drivers via my laptop? I can’t seem to find the monitor crosshair or even how to display FPS at the top of the screen. Idk if consoles have all that. But do I need to upgrade the drivers if I only play on console? Thank you
Recently bought this monitor and it has badly ghosting. In review you'll not see it, because it's a video, reviewer should make a photo of UFO monitor test or at least make slow motion of test. Yes, Display has good colors and frequency, it will be good for movies and games, but NOT for FPS games. P.S. in full black screen monitor has Glow-effect in X-shape. Conclusion: Reviewers are always “gently silent” about product shortcomings.
I just got this monitor for the xbox series x and I can’t be happier as this is my monitor for gaming! The slight curve is perfect and not too much. The different modes for different types of games is awesome. Graphics still look amazing from up close I can’t even tell the difference from 4K.
Been looking at this for my series x but seen there is a 32” version as well ... does it have bright popping color on the series x with 1440 at 120hz ?
Just got this monitor and it is flawless at 120 hz paired with the xbox series x. The only thing I suggest is not to use the amd freesink premium setting. That setting has alot of frame rate loss goes from 120 to 70 during intense fights. Instead use mprt setting. Motion picture response time is way better because the framerate does not drop at all. Turn on game enhance mode to framerate and turn off amd freesink and see for yourself. I love this monitor and I have no ghosting and also on the Xbox settings set to pc rgb. Wow what a difference. Mprt is way better than extreme and fast rt put together lol. Xbox set to 1440 at 120 hz and the numbers don't move from 120 hz at the top left corner once you turn on enhanced game mode framerate. And also I don't have any washout. Just make sure to calibrate your Xbox once you change these settings. Let me know in the comments if this worked better for you.
Thank you very much for the detailed review video. I wanted to make sure I made the right decision before buying this monitor and it was helpful. I use a 75Hz Dell monitor for my workplace and it really looks and feels great. For this reason, I prefer Dell again.
Is there a way to increase the brightness further with this monitor? I just got a pair of them, and even after upping its brightness to 100 in the monitor settings, it's actually virtually as bright as the Gigabyte G27QC (another monitor I got that is apparently clocked at 250 nits, and putting the two side-by-side they look identical).
I recently got this monitor and i don't know if anyone has a similar issue, but when i run it at 165hz or 144hz with the response time set to "Extreme" certain web pages which have a completely black background (like twitter) do this really weird glitching when scrolling where most of the image and screen elements are shifted up and down across the screen as i scroll. This does not happen at ALL on 120hz, only when i go above that. I've tried any of the other response time settings as well as enabling / disabling freesync and they all give the same problem when i'm running a refresh rate higher than 120hz. Does anyone know what could be causing the issue here? I'm just using the DP cable that came with the monitor, I'm not sure if my screen is simply defective or if its an issue of the default cable being bad and 144-165hz only working properly on a more expensive cable. I'd like to be able to use at least 144hz :( :edit: it seems to have been an issue with firefox' "Use recommended performance settings" option
Is it easy on the eyes? I'm looking for a good monitor to stare at for 10 hours a day (software engineering a student) and I've done a lot of research that suggests VA over IPS for sensitive eyes and migraines. I'd love to hear your thoughts 🙏
Have you tested the response time to high refresh rate, at 144Hz or 165Hz ? Still no problem ? 2ms response time seems a lot for a va some ips don't achieve this fast time
You mean grey to grey 2ms? Odyssey g7 have 2ms grey to grey as well :D MPRT is 1 ms but that's just a stuppid gimmick that EVERY monitor brand just putting on their monitor / box. The actual grey to grey latency is what matters. 99% VA panel monitors have 4ms grey to grey. Only this and the odyssey g7 / g9 plus the new neo ones have better response times. That's it really. I have this one. I am very happy with it. Playing Valorant in immo 3. Top fragging and winning is definitely not an issue.
@@Version-ru1mj I'm not sure if i did know mprt wasn't a true measure at the time i've written this. But i now know it and it's pretty good to know this monitor is a good one, you seems to be a connoisseur cause fps titles need good reaction time.
Great "words of praise", but where are the measurements numbers, to back it all up? I don't see any measured response times or contrast numbers....referencing spec sheet numbers, doesn't "prove" anything! 🙄 Take this as constructive criticism to improve! 😉

Hey man! I purchased this monitor watching your review, but I notice that the the graphic is quite blurry with Xbox Series S at native 1440p and 120 hz. Is there a setting that can change this or is it not really meant for paring with the Xbox?
@@blueninjanoname7338 Sent it back in the end, had a dead pixel right in the middle and I couldn't stand the black smearing. Opted for a LG27GP850 instead and it's way better! I personally wouldn't get a VA again over an IPS.
I have a 24 inch version of this monitor and I don’t have the option for extreme refresh rate… is it because mine is 27 inch or is in the game I’m playin (NBA2K23) I do have the settings, fast, super fast and one other one I can’t think of at the moment but yeah if you can give me some insight on why I don’t have the extreme setting I’d be grateful.
at 1:35 the player in the chat swore. This really frustrated me and largely effected my choice of looking for specific monitors. Dislike button getting hit right now! What if a kid saw your videos?
Can you please make S3422DWG review, I'm really interested in it, but I'm scared of ghosting/black smearing. I currently own S2719DGF(TN Panel) and would like to upgrade, possibly to ultrawide. Your LG Ultra Gear is one of the options but the GP model is not yet available in my country, 34GN850 is but it is cca. 1000€. Acer Predator X34GS that is similarly priced here has better specs on paper, and design, so if I decide to spend that much money would probably go for Predator(also not many review online for it, don't know why).
Tbh every panel tech has its issue. If you got used to a TN Panel, you became used to the washed out color that comes with a TN Panel. It’s the same for a VA. I’m actually seriously considering giving up my fast IPS as I really enjoy this monitor (s2722dgm). It has some black smearing but the colors, contrast and price really make it unbeatable. Although the s2721dgf is now on sale as well. It’s an IPS. But currently I’m really digging the curve of the DGM
@@nashwalker7 In the meantime I found Gigabyte M32Q on for a great price in my region. And went with it. Comparing it to a S2719DGF is a nigh and day difference. Still using both but will probably sell Dell. So far I'm satisfied with M32Q, I thought size might be an issue, but recently I got a bigger deeper desk and 32" is a perfect size for it. For now no ultrawide for me.
@@HeadCfcHunter Honestly 32inch is too big and I would just go with odyssey g7 at this point if you pay this price for the dell and m32q. So much better. Odyssey g7 beats every IPS monitors out there in response times. Even the Alienware aw2721d.
Asus TUF monitors have AWFUL dark smearing and ghosting. I tried the VG32VQ and VG32VQR as well the VG27WQ1B. They were just soo bad. Then I went with msi g27cq4 and gigabyte g27qc. Finally, tried dell s2722dgm and kept it.
@@Version-ru1mj I saw a couple of your comments and made some research and I think that's gonna be my conclusion as well, thank you for your contribution on my decision random citizen! :D
Compatible, but not a great match. Ps5 outputs games at 4k 60fps/30fps or 1080p 120/60fps. I would suggest matching PS5 with 4K 60fps display for extra details. This Dell display is best for PC.
@@Alex-wk5dj i just ordered this monitor for the series x i hope its the one i just got it on amazon it was either this or the samsung odyssey g7 it was 540 the odyssey but this came out to 290 with the tax i felt like this was a great price for the monitor
Bro, I think you overestimate people's graphics capability. Some of us only have 60 fps at med-high settings for newer games on PC. But thank you for the video. I want to buy the 32" model for my Xbox SX.
Great video! But I have a question for you. Do you know if the dell S3222dgm is similar to this monitor? I just got a Xbox series X and I'm setting it up now, really excited to get 1440p 120hz! But on my monitor, is it still 8-bit color same as your dell monitor review? Thanks for the help!
Should be the same..as far as i noticed difference is in the curve being 1800r instead of 1500r on 27" note only that the 32" is a lot heavier if you plan to put it on the stand or on the wall
Anyone have this monitor and the joystick for the osd menu was or became loose? I cant find anything for help on the internet, seems like it would just click back in place but I cant figure it out
Most people don't even have 1440p monitors. Have you ran the Shadow of the Tomb Raider bench? I'll do the bench right now with my 1080TI. At 1080p lowest settings, I'm getting 165 FPS. At 1440p lowest settings, I got 140 fps. That's a 1080 TI 11GB GDDR5. No slouch. I do have another machine with a 3070 in it and I have a 3060TI, but most people do not have that luxury. According to Steam, most people are still using 2gb video cards (gpu's).
I'm thinking in buying this since it's on sale right now, but my concern is that I do 50% media streaming (RU-vid, Netflix) and 50% gaming. Is this a hybrid monitor (what I'm looking for) or purely gaming focused?
Can you turn on HDR, VRR and Deep Colour Output for this monitor on PS5? Im currently getting 1440p res and 120 Hz auto output but feel like I should be able to do more? Pls help ha!
Asus vg27wq1b is one of the worst VA panel monitors out there. Worse then gigabyte g27qc / g27qc a, msi g27cq4, aoc cq27g2 and so on. Truly, one of the worst. I tried the vg27wq1b, vg32vq and vg32vqr. All very heavy dark smearing, big issues with tracer free (overdrive), ghosting/smearing when watching movies and it was very noticeable. Nah. pass.
I Know this is an older video, but I have a chance to grab a couple of them pretty much new for a great price. Has anyone tried running 2 of these side by side? Currently have 2x24" flat 1080p monitors and want to upgrade. Would it be 'TOO' immersive? Would the peripheral vision not be able to handle so much screen?
