I picked up a Magnifica Evo about a year ago and absolutely love it, but I now have espresso machine envy with this one. All those cold drinks options look amazing!
What specific grind and other settings to do you recommend to start when trying to dial in an espresso shot with the DeLonghi Eletta Explore? I’m a newbie and ordered Lavazza super Crema beans to start with.
I purchased a Eletta Explore directly from DeLonghi. This is an excellent matchine, makes great coffee. Unfortunately the machine i received does not sync with their app on my phone. After a few calls to Delonghi, i was told my machine does not support the phone app.
Hello. Just had a question regarding the calibration that you do with the hot espresso. My espressos keep tasting burnt and butter was hoping you could give me some tips. Thanks
Can you make a comparison video between the Eletta Explore and the Primal Donna Elite. Both new coffee automatic machines at a premium price. I see that the Eletta has so many more options some of them really important like the ability to make an Americano or to brew a travel size drink, not to mention all the cold drinks. With this in mind I don’t understand why the Prima Donna Elite is more expensive. I guess my main question is what makes the prima donna elite better than the Eletta explore to justified the higher price.
It's about the grinder, Sir. Primadonna adapts flat burrs grinder which is more expensive and can get you more clear espresso. Eletta adapts a conical burr grinder which is a cheaper one. I think it would be astronomical price if the machine was able to brew all these 50+ drinks with a flat burr grinder. =))
Soul has flat burrs grinders which are more consistent and more expensive that can pull consistent espresso grinds every time Eletta adapts a cheaper Conical burrs grinder which is used by most other machines. Both machines have 19 pressure bars. Eletta on the other hand supports 50+ variations of drinks, cold brew, and convenient for-to-go coffee.

I watched the livestream last night, may I know the model number you used in the video as there are some info saying that not all Eletta Explore models use the DeLonghi app. Also, do you prefer this over the Dinamica Plus which has a dual boiler? I am currently debating between the two. Thank you very much and great video as always.
We are using model# ECAM45086S. The Dinamica plus does not have a dual boiler, but we must say... We are truly a fan of both machine, though the Eletta does have a little bit of a leg up on the Dianamica Plus because of it's extensive beverage menu!
You show that you can change the size of the drinks from S/M/L but is there a way to change the drink size output to ounces so that you don't pick say medium or large and your preferred vessel ends up being too small causing overflow or spillage.
Unfortunately the machine measures via seconds spent dispensing, not fluid ounces, which makes things a little difficult when you’re trying to fill specific cups. I asked customer service about it and they said it’s because the machine can’t tell what kind of milk you’re using, and dairy/plant milks dispense at different rates.
Hi! There's no right or wrong setting. Every machine, every environment, and every bean will be a little bit different. If your shot is pouring slow and tastes sour, then use a more coarse grind setting, alternatively - if it is coming out quite quick and has a bitter taste, then use a finer setting. And for the best performance, make sure to change the grind size while the grinder is running. It's like gears on a bike, if you change them when stopped, it doesn't work quite right. Hopefully that helps!
It was a wonderful review!!! Very informative and comprehensive!!! I wonder how do you guys think or compare this machine with the Jura Z10 which also has Cold Brew function. This seems really nice but I was also impressed about Jura Z10, now I don't know which one to pick.
The Eletta Explore is a really amazing machine that has the most extensive beverage menu and features menu that we've seen! At half the price of the Z10 it can't be beat :)
Can you please tell me how to use the steam wand on this model? We just bought it, but I can’t use the carafe because I have a milk allergy, and it wouldn’t be safe (or convenient) for us to swap back and forth between milks using the same carafe. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to use the steam wand to heat up my plant milk without the carafe.
Hello there, I just got it today and after 5 shots, espresso comes out really bad, weak and watery (I had the same results with my gaggia magenta at first) could u tell me what’s your coffee mill adjustment ? Thanks !
I have a question regarding the milk container. We used to have something similar for the milk container for another brand coffee machine. The milk became sour rather quickly as the container was not closed air tight. I wonder if it is the same with this one. It made me step over to a external milk frother so I could keep the milk in the milk package air tight.
Looks like a great machine, but this is triple the price of my Philips 5400 and I got mine on sale for $1200. Is $3600 really justifiable? 🤔 The Philips does well and has alot of drink options, just not the cold brew option.
@@ciorbaanca100 it's so expensive to live in Canada. I would for sure go with the delonghi if it was the same price, but I am still happy with my 5400 :)
Hello. What does the maximum coffee strength translates into in terms of grinded coffee portion? A 14 grams like the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus or more? Thanks.
There are a few older models of the Eletta, but this one has user profiles unlike the others, a much larger beverage menu, larger bean hopper, easy navigation, improved brewing technology, cold foam capabilities, a to go mug setting, a colour display touch screen, the list goes on!
@@ecscoffeeinc The ecam45055s has all of that too though. Looks identical. So looks like the only difference is the true cold brew, more preset drinks, app and $200 less.
@@MO.Lenswork Not soy milk, but we do use oat milk in this video for our cold brew cappuccino! You can find it here in the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kWrw2MyQZcY.html :)
@@ecscoffeeinc thanks. But do you think soy milk will work? We don't need the foam. We just want soy milk works without covering the sensor as I have read it is being done on some other models.
Yeah. Its the cold brew version. Only difference from ECAM450.55 is cold brew. I just bought 450.55 yesterday because IMO it’s not worthy to pay around 200 more just for that.
@@lagosj77 for me, not really. If you add a lot of ice it will still be cold. Don’t need to wait 3 more minutes for your coffee for 200 bucks. Even in most coffeehouses they just make glass full of ice, espresso and foamed warm milk and it’s always cold as ice giants buthole
Very different but as easy to use! The Eletta Explore has many more beverages and with the cold brew and cold foam function, it is hard to compete with!
@@bobsimmons1470 A little wrong, they use similar brew units and similar brewing functions, but what makes the coffee taste different is the grinder and how precise it is, and the amount of coffee that gets ground per espresso shot! :)
I have the most basic Delonghi, I think its the ECP3620, and its so great! Old school portafilter, and steamer wand on the side. No grinder, no touchscreen. I have always been concerned that super automatic machines like this are somewhat gimmicky, and certain features will break as time goes on until the whole thing dies. I could be wrong of course. Has anyone had one of these type of machines without any type of service besides cleaning for 10 years+?
A couple things to keep in mind when looking at automatic espresso machines.. - Machines with more "tech" run the risk of having more issues - They do not make any appliance like they used to - You pay for what you get - You will definitely need to take your machine to a service centre within 10 years, just like a car, to keep it running smoothly you need to get it serviced every now and then
@@ecscoffeeinc , Very true. You definitely get what you pay for. If my basic ECP3620 lasts 5-7 years with no maintenance besides descaling, I am ok with junking it and buying another for the $140 (on sale) I paid for it. I will add that your car example doesn't apply....to a Toyota. 17 years, and has never seen a mechanic yet! ;) lol
Sad to see that delonghi STILL haven't cracked a way to make the machine automatically change the density of the foam for you, depending on the drink and are still using their pretty dated LatteCrema system with a dial you have to turn manually.
I am on machine #3 ( maybe going to #4?), talking to support who are good with communication, the milk foaming doesn't perform well, nothing like our previous 8 year old machine which I have already sold, otherwise this would have gone back for refund! The theoretical functionality of the machine is way better than the old machine however my opinion is that quality has been compromised! Seems to be a cheaper pump system because hot water out the side spout very weak thus the milk also affected! We were so enthusiastic, now very disappointed!
