Hi Colin, thank you for creating easily the best review of the Evo I've seen on RU-vid. You raised a point that concerns me slightly. You mentioned the first cup temperature isn't as hot as subsequent drinks. We currently use a Nespresso machine that makes around 6 cups a day - usually one at a time with gaps of an hour or so in use. If we bought the Evo I wouldn't expect our to change. So every drink would be the first drink made by the machine after switching it on. Do you think we would be better sticking with our Nespresso - which we've used for around 7 years? Paul
Hi Paul, I would definitely change for the Evo. The coffee will be better, cheaper and with so many different coffee to discover. For the temperature, a few tricks will help. You can run another rinse cycle, and warm up your cup with that water. That way, the first coffee will be warm enough.
Love your reviews, and that you give both C and F temps. But you just solved one aggravation, and one that people really grouse about in reviews--how to just steam milk--Brava! I just got this machine and am getting to know it. I'm still getting sour/bright notes, but they are hidden in my milk drink. Even with fresh, local beans and a lower grind setting (3) and the highest strength, I couldn't drink the coffee by itself. Hopefully I'll get it figured out though. Thank you! Also, the one thing I don't like about this machine is that I can't pull a double espresso/cappuccino. At least not that I've found!
Thanks a lot Tina ! Sour or a bit under extracted coffee is often a problem with those machines. You seem to be on the right track, maybe experiment with different roast level.
Fantastic review, this is the first time that ive watched you, can you help me, could i fit a 12oz travel mug under the milk and coffee spouts, it measures 140cm Thanks and keep up the good work
Thanks a lot Gary ! It's really close. I just measured, and it's 13.8 cm from the top to bottom. That might do the job by putting it a little bit behind.
I’ve just started my search for an automatic bean to cup machine. So any thoughts, advice or comparisons would be very very useful. Love and peace. Tim
Great review! I saw another video you made on tips to better espresso in an automatic machine. Have you spent time dialing in the Evo? I would be curious to hear your opinion on grind and water volume settings specifically for this machine. I already use the 3 bean setting and hottest water.
