Been watching your videos and I have a budget of 1,500 to 2,000$ CAD. I was planning on buying the lattego 5400 (mainly a latte, cappuccino and regular coffee drinker) but watching the other videos, I'm not sure anymore. Which one would you recommend? Thanks for you help :)
I just bought a machine. After setting it up, coffee is leaking all into the grounds container and no coffee goes out in the glass from the nozzles. When i do rinse, water comes out from the nozzles normally. Any ideas if its faulty or something is wrong?
Thank You for your Review, it was actually a really good one. I recently purchased a Delonghi Magnifica Evo and I have to say I’m very impressed and satisfied with the product . It’s my first one from them. 🎩
What's the coffee quality of Delonghi Magnifica Evo vs. the Philips 4300. My experience is the Philips makes a weak intensity cup of coffee. Your opinion would be appreciated.
The default coffee mode will only fill up about 40% of a regular coffee cup. I did the adjustment setting, but still, only got it up to about 60% of a standard-sized coffee cup. Is anyone else experiencing and annoyed by that? In the meantime, my workaround is to do a custom fill 45% and just run the coffee mode twice.
Hi Tom, I just picked up one of these, as I was unboxing it, and it just felt cheap plastic to me. I understand it baee leve entry but it really felt cheap. Am I wrong? I have not seen many machines because I live in small town Canada so I rely heavily on online reviews. How would this compare to the Jura E4?
@@alreade8477 Believe it or not, Jura employs even more plastic. Even the drip tray covers on the Juras are plastic. The Delonghis also feel more solid to me than Philips, for what it’s worth.
Seems like it's pretty awesome. I also like how they limit the choices the user has for types of drinks. I feel like having anymore drink options than what this machine has is pretty useless. The grinder sounds terrible though lol
Türkçeye çevirmiş olmanız çok süper teşekkür ederim 🙏🏼 Çok video izledim Türkiye’de detaylı anlatım üzgünüm çok yok bu çok iyi olmuş tüm sorulara cevap buldum saygılar.
I use dinamica plus. I heard that de longhi uses too much water for espresso- 40ml when classic espresso is about 25-30ml. Because of that, espresso can be a bit too watery. Am I right? What is the solution? Lowering espresso volume in settings( small coffe, or manual setting )?
You can set the Dinamica Plus to your own amount of beans and drink volume, using the "My Drink" feature. I have programmed one to be about 25ml. But yes, the pucks are also a bit smaller than a traditional espresso machine. I will be doing a video on the Dinamica Plus soon enough. Cheers!
@@TomsCoffeeCorner yes, i tried that but it is dificult to set a proper amount of coffe ml manualy. It would be easier if de longhi had ml settings in menu. I also tried to set max coffe aroma and small coffe from control panel. The espresso volume was about between 25 -30ml, so closer to real espresso. Do you think that jura makest much better espresso, closer to the "real" one than de longhi?
If you press the x2 button does it grinds for longer to give a bigger puck, can I then manually cancel the water after I get 40ml so I get a true espresso?
Great review! Thank you. Have you had a chance to check out the Bosch VeroCafe? It’s a $1600 machine, and I’m trying to figure out if the extra money is worth it when they do essentially the same thing from what I can tell?
Hi Tom, Your video review convinced me to get a Magnifica Evo, and I set it up yesterday. However, when I set the grind to 2, it clogs up the machine, and I've ended up wasting a lot of money on coffee that doesn't come out at all. Also, the tamper doesn't dispose of a puck, but more like regular grinds. What am I doing wrong?
Great video, thanks However, for 2 months I have had the same coffee machine, and for the last few weeks, I have noticed a pretty annoying error. At the first cappuccino in the morning not every day, after selecting the drink, the milk froth process starts and after one second suddenly stops with the red triangle warning light, the grounded coffee ready is dumped in the tray whiteout brewing. Once I see that, I turn off and on the machine, sometimes reconnecting the milk dispenser and the light disappears. I've tried to reach Delonghi Support over the phone, I explained to them everything also in an email with pictures, and no answer so far. Today I claimed the warranty and on Monday they will pick it up. Has anyone had any similar issues with this kind of machine?
This machine seems really impressive! You didn’t give much indication of quality of construction, does it seem like it will last? I’m currently using a Gaggia Brera. The Brera’s flat burr grinder limits you to beans on the lighter side of medium to light roasts. Can this machine reliably grind med-dark roasts?
Hi Tom, i am in the market for a Superautomatic Coffee Machine, i am between th Gaggia Brera and and Delonghi Magnifica Evo. What are your opinion? Which from the two you would choose? Thank you!
Hi, Tom, what would you recommend from automatic coffee machines? My wife loves really good latte and I like black coffee. I can't really decide. I'm thinking about Delonghi, Philips or Saeco. Thank you!
The only way to do that is by selecting the grounded coffee instead of beans(and leave the compartment empty) and then press the my latte. This way it will only give you the milk because there is no grounded coffee 😁
I still went with the Philips 5500 Lattego because it does more types of drinks. This model seem to only have five drinks: Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Iced Coffee, and Coffee. I do like that it does iced coffee though but you didn't review that mode. Also you can store the frother in the fridge with the Delonghi.
Could help you answer this question: between the Philips 5400 and the Delonghi Magnifica Evo, which of these two automatic coffee machines would you choose for your home?
Hi, thank you very much for your review. I just wanted to ask you about the 2x button. What does that thing do? It makes two full extractions (ground, compact, and extract) so you can have two coffees?
I'm stuck between this and the MELITTA Series 600 Latticia OT F300-100. I like the idea of the Melitta more, just because there is no milk container, just a tube, which makes switching milks/cleaning easier.
Hi Tom great review. I have a question: ive set the temp at high, grinder setting just like yours and use freshly burned beans(vintage espresso) but my espresso still comes out sour. Do you have any tips or solutions to this problem?
Well, the machine rinses each time you turn it on. The puck tray has to be cleaned with soap and water though. And the brew unit should be cleaned and maintained at regular intervals. Cheers!
Hi Tom, I just got the machine today, I adjusted the grind settings at 2 but nothing pours out, does that mean my machine is faulty? Cuz it says in the manual that very fine settings might interfere with spouting coffee. Your input is much appreciated
Great review! Thanks.. Also wanted to know if i can select coffee crema option with high heat setting like you used the my latte when in settings? Thanks a lot ❤
Does anyone know why is the red warning “change the water filter” is on when I just put the filter on? I am still trying to set up my machine. Please, any help appreciated
Hi Tom, I just found your channel in a timely fashion as I am planning on replacing my ageing Gaggias Brera. One question, did you try adjusting the espresso quantity below the default 40ml? Would be interested in knowing if that made much difference. Some cracking review videos on here, I'll be a regular viewer!
From another viewer: "On the magnifica EVO, to do hot cocoa, you can drop the powder in the cup, attach the milk frother full, select the grinder bypass but don’t actually load any coffee, hit the my latte button, and it’ll empty the frother into the glass and then cancel itself because there’s no coffee in the bypass. Magical!"
Thanks for this great review. I just had mine delivered today. The factory settings seem to be working great with my beans, however, I would like to see if I can further improve the quality of my espressos. Two questions you might be able to help with; 1. How can increasing the temperature effect the quality of the espresso? 2. Is there a way to purge hot water through the coffee nozzles before making a coffee to get the system warmed up to the point that it is at perfect temperature on my first espresso? Really appreciate any help you can provide.
So I bought fresh Pete's coffee beans and tried to follow the same grind. I cannot get the coffee to froth anywhere near the same. Use reverse osmosis water. Dark roast house blend. Hmm
I've had bad luck with Pete's coffee. Most supermarket coffee sits for months on the shelves or in storage. Try something from a local roaster, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Cheers!
Had a chat with the local delonghi office as I was asking the difference between some of their machines. Especially this eco and the 23.460 which is older but here about 200 euro cheaper. Same brew unit and same milk handling. Less fancy outside 😂. So will go probably for the 23.460
This is a great review, thank you very much! It would also be great to see a review of the new Magnifica Plus machine. I can’t find a good review of it anywhere, but the new display, the number of drinks, the extra shot function and the larger milk container are attractive. I'm thinking between it and Evo.
I got mine today… and I don’t understand why the machine is leaking badly from the left side and made a real mess on the kitchen… any idea about this? I try to google and I found many complaining about this…. Your experience was 100% nicer than mine… 🧐
Hi Tom, thank you for this video. Only about espresso and capuccino taste, how do you compare the results from this machine with the ECP3420 and the Dedica EC885?
Well, portafilter espresso machines are still better, but this does quite a good job for a superautomatic. Drinks will be less potent though, if you know what I mean.
Hi Tom.Do you have any review on magnifica plus? Is it worth the money? There are some special promotions on 320.60 B magnifica plus, and i couldn't find any video on your list.Thx
Hi Tom, I put my eyes on this DeLonghi machine I would like to have good lattes and cappuccinos and I checked your video, which is very convincing, I almost pulled the trigger on it but then after I read many reviews I got confused. Some people love it but many don't. Since you are familiar with DeLonghi products what is your opinion is the manufacturing inconsistent or many people don't read and follow the manufacturer's instructions? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Well, I don't know those other users, but the machine works well for me. I think this is the best mid-priced coffee machine, but that's just my opinion. In the end, you have to try for yourself and see what you like. I'd just suggest avoiding Philips. Those have been disappointing for me.
Second machine in the space of a month and cant get the milk drink function to work. When milk is added to carafe lights dont come on for milk drinks! Help!
many thanks for your comment i just buy this machine this weekend just can you please help me how i can do latte machiatto or flat white from this machine ? or any other coffe which we can create from this one ?
Great review. I'm looking to get this for an office but people don't like small cups of coffee. How large was the regular coffee you made? It looked like a fairly decent sized cup of coffee. We have 12oz cups at work for guests for if it fills those I'd be very happy with that.
Man, I’d love to know the exact setting, grind level, and beans you use for the coffee. I’ve been tinkering with this for a month now and none of my coffee cremas look like yours hahaha
I bought it too but with ice coffee better model well delonghi is better choice over phillips models better quality of coffee better internal engine in my opinion from my research finger crossed let's hope it will be run for long time just waiting for the order
Hi. Thank you so much for your video. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the EVO with the DESCALING option. Does that option also doubles as the temperature guage? TIA
