Hi Tom, thanks for your amazing content, you inspired me to get a used ECP3630 as my first machine! I'm curious if you've tried testing this hack for the Dedica but analogous to the ECP? Like switching to steam mode for a few seconds before brewing. If you have, would love to know your findings.
A wonderful walk through of coffee / espresso related products that I had been interested in, snippets of Copenhagen (I'm 4th gen so maybe why I don't mind overcast skies) and your relevant questions to the reps. Milk frothing by Benji was incredible. With newer designers in grinders I'm waiting for something new in espresso machines that's not boxy and silver.
Yes, Benji did an awesome job, even more so when you consider oat milk and small paper cup. Very skillful indeed. 👍🏻 He also gave me a few good pointers to try myself. I really liked Copenhagen. The people were really enjoying the water and the weather. Good vibes. My favorite was biking all over. Reffen was also very cool. 😎 Cheers!
Thanks for showing us the move!! Also it’s insane to me how eureka can just continue to ignore their customers. Nobody wants a hopper anymore and everyone wants zero retention and they also want a different dial bc the eureka dial is horrible. and eureka just continues to ignore that with their tiny dial, grind by weight, giant hoppers, terrible retention etc. it’s wild to me.
The Move is pretty sweet. The construction is a lot better than the Go in my opinion, and I like that you can adjust the pressure on the steam boiler. I’d say that it’s more refined than their previous offerings. The PF is a little weird with the silicon double spout. I think the price is going to be somewhere around €1800 or so. I have to be honest, I didn’t get a chance to play with the Sylvia Pro X yet.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner thanks for the reply Tom. Yeah it looks pretty solid. Only thing that looks a little off is how big the metal that covers grouphead is.
I really appreciate your videos. I want to buy a coffee grinder and was wondering what grinder I should buy. I want to combine it with a cheap DeLonghi dedica. I saw your video on the DF54 and it seems that it is the best value. Unfortunately I life in Germany. So the price would be 300€. Is this still a good value or should I get another grinder instead? I would like to use the grinder for espresso. But I also want to do other things with it like mokapot, pour over, french press etc. Greetings from Hannover
Hi there! I think at that price it's still a good deal. It can be adjusted for all those brew methods, and I like it's build quality and result in the cup. Your next best bet would be maybe to wait for the Mignon Zero 65, coming sometime later in the year. Cheers!
Hey Tom, really nice Video! I have a question: I really struggle with the extraction. How long would you extract the coffee? Do you take the time or have any other recommendations? Most of the time it just shoots through if I don't double pump the lever. With the double pump it tends to build up to much pressure. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Alright I'm finally hitting the subscribe button cus this is the only video I've found where someone hit the GCP with a hammer. Not the review we deserved, but the review we needed.
It was great meeting you at the venue, Tom and seeing you work. You are also covering 3 stands I did not have time to visit, so much appreciate your content!
It is really annoying to see how they keep selling the Timemore S3 as a grinder suitable for espresso, when we've tested it and even at 0 it is not able to grind fine enough for it.. Stop lying, you are destroying the prestige and credibility of the brand!
Timemore wants to democratise espresso and yet the Millab E01, which I stupidly purchased on kickstarter, is supposed to be an espresso grinder and yet it grinds far too coarsely. Potentially excellent, but rubbish in reality.
Thank You ! And here you are again, making a nice visit to the stands, in particular Eureka, where you're meeting up with someone you know... That said, at Eureka, the Mignon SD Pro was announced in the spring, then this summer, and now I hear that it's going to be in the autumn... I'm not sure I can wait any longer, because what is Eureka going to announce this autumn, another postponement?
re; olympia mina. after moka pots and bellman combo moka pot/steamer an olympia cremina was my first real espresso machine. paid approx 350 usd new in the day. that was a fair realistic not cheap price. today the cremina is more of a cult machine and way overpriced. mina looks to be in the 1000usd range and there are several options that do the same thing at a % of the price.
Hello Tom! You could ask her if Eureka plans to release a low cost single dose espresso grinder! I'd love to know about one! Thanks, keep up with your excellent videos!
Yes, I inquired about that. They pushed off the release date on that, so they’re not showcase in that currently. Probably going to be the end of the year as I understand. But no reason to fret, they’ve got some other really awesome models to look at, including some which will be released in autumn.
I have an issue with my Calphalon expresso machine, which I have used for several years. Shards and tiny bits of hard plastic are being shed into the coffee. The filter catches the bigger, sharp edged shards, but the tiny ones that look like coffee grains are coming through into the finished product. There is no mistaking the shards with pointy ends for coffee grounds. I kept some samples of the shards. I was doing a web search and that's how I found your video, which I appreciate. I will take the machine apart and take a look at what inside is made of hard, black plastic that is flaking off. • The plastic pieces are all pre filters from inside the machine. I know this because the shards come out when the filter basket and machine filters are all removed and the water is coming directly unfiltered from inside the machine. Some of the shards have branches and are long and curved--- definitely not coffee grounds.
I've just bought this machine and I'm a bit underwhelmed, do you think the Gaggia classic will give any meaningful differences and is it worth the extra money?
Hi! I really appreciate your channel, it's a huge source of knowledge! I have a doubt about the IMS basket. Can I use it with the original portafilter? Another question is if the original tamper (that comes with the Dedica Arte) fits the IMS basket; I've read it's so tight and many people get problems with that. Thank you so very much for your great content! Greetings from Andalucía!
Hello tom It was very helpful to me But I have a problem When I set my grinder to 0 point by setting the grinding to it's finest that the churp sound as you mentioned and then going coarser and starting to adjust My zero point is 5 and when I go coarser let's say to 2 it's very coarse so then I keep going finer and I have to go finer than my zero point by 3 to 4 numbers Is that ok ? And I do single dosing and when the grinding finishes I hear the churp sound every time So is that ok? Please help me 😢
