Sounds like they need a new everything to be honest. How the hell do you lose the interviews and even the list of the people you interviewed in such a high profile case. And also someone took photos of sensitive information, the room should have been secured in the first place.

It is the worst, most incompetent, most suspicious thing I have almost ever heard in a double murder case of children. I would need to see the investigation into all of that before I could accept anything from the police.

Agreed... never have I seen a crazier situation. Law enforcement there seems really questionable. I don't say that often, I am all for law enforcement normally. But they dropped the ball several times.

Allen was there at the time of the murders and admitted it, there are pictures and video, he fits the description, has the weapon, was seen by others at the location, had his car near the location, admitted to his wife on more than one occasion that he committed the murders.

The issue is him getting a fair trial. And no one, or at least it should be no one doesn't want him to not get a fair trial.

Not having heard of a case isn’t the requirement. For any case. Not having formed an opinion, whether guilty or innocent, is what is required. They will be asked if they know about the case, how much they know about the case and if they have already decided if he’s guilty or not. If juries had to consist of people that haven’t ever heard of the case being prosecuted then we wouldn’t be able to seat a jury anymore.

I’m in no way saying Richard Allen is innocent. I’m saying I fear he is not getting a fair trial and may have a case for appeal. Do this right. Prosecution is shady!

This is a well balanced comment! Too many people have already decided a verdict and the case isn't even at that point, yet. Allen might or might not be guilty, but we won't know for sure unless there's a fair trial. Truth is, the State might have bungled the case so bad that no one is ever convicted and that would be a tragedy. If that does happen, I hope the girls' families will be allowed to sue the State for incompetence.

Not really. Besides the fact, you can’t find 12 people to agree who the video looks like. Just because evidence has been hidden from day 1, we fill in the blanks to justify ourselves. BG looks like EF to me plus the fact he told his sister he was there on the bridge with those two girls who him and his friends then killed. The confessions be made we’re not under duress and done the first year of the case - one done the first week. One sister passed a polygraph. As far as LE goes, the FBI thought BG was consistent in body frame to RL. In no universe is RL and RA consistent with RL being more than 6 inches taller.

Identical murder site, the only difference is he took them farther away from where he kidnapped them where there were no people around. I believe he used a gun with them also to get them to quietly get in his white older blazer/bronco type vehicle. If you look at the site they were found at, Seven Bridges Wildlife Park, they are in trees right beside a river. He stalked them and waited on a trail for them also. Monon Bridge, Seven Bridges, this is a monster who travels, kills, leaves someone else’s dna, like a cigarette butt or maybe urine, is very careful not to leave his own dna, he puts clothing or shoes in river to erase dna, and is gone. He has been doing this for over 40 years and has it perfected. He wasn’t ever counting on a teenager named Libby to outsmart him tho and get the real killer on video.

@@tmn8547 And just before Allen's arrest, we know that he had been moved to a base for an interview and there were searches being conducted. The rumor at the time was that he gave them info in order to make a deal. It seemed inevitable that we were going to hear about someone being charged whether it was him, someone else or both. Then Allen was arrested and Kline's ped case moved forward quite a lot, with some charges actually being dropped.

I believe if nothing else Kline got the info about where the girls were going to be out to whoever killed them

I agree. I haven't kept up on the evidence against the defendant, therefore I don't have a well formed opinion of his guilt or innocence. This case does need to be investigated. The tragic deaths of these two girls have been overshadowed by the trainwreck that is the police work and investigation of this case. Seriously? The witness interview recordings have been accidentally recorded over? The police didn't keep a log of whom they interviewed or what was said? Crime scene photos leaked by the defense? Yikes.

@traci have you seen the evidence? There is NOTHING tying him to this case. And I have serious doubts that his “confession “ was authentic and not coerced. Even the attorney that the judge assigned to him said - in no uncertain terms - that he believed that RA is innocent. And let’s not forget the police officer that testified the same at this last hearing. Please look at ALL of the evidence and do not blindly follow the prosecution. Mistakes happen. Innocent people are arrested and even convicted. This could be any of us one day. No one should be making assumptions without seeing ALL of the evidence.

Well maybe. Maybe if you interview John Doe, he speaks with you for 20 mins about being at work that day. Later you confirm with his employer if what he told you was true. Do you need to keep that tape or can you jot down “confirmed at work with employer” on some paperwork?
