Deltacorp doesn't have any problems with their fundamentals... casino and online gaming is still in its nascent stages in India .. hence the industry is bound to undergo several regularisations from time to time.. these short-term hiccups create ideal opportunity for investors to buy the stocks at lucrative rates ... however we mustn't forget that deltacorp has a robust business model which has delivered attractive returnts in the past and has the potential to deliver multibagger returns in the long-term..

I agree to everything you said but even though if they get 50% relaxation in GST still they need to pay RS 8000 CR . Which is almost double to the company market cap. What is your view on paying back the outstanding GST. More delay more penalty.

They won’t pay . Not only deta corp . Many other such casinos and online gaming companies have received the notices . Govt may consider paying gst on the net income while 28 percent may still be retained

Valuation is not the only parameter to buy a stock. What is the ROCE. Does the company have a moat. Many other issues. You can probably do a contrarian investing hoping for things to turn around. Is it a Sin stocks and what is the discounting on such companies

It is so clear why the stock is falling.... You don't even need to know anything about finance in order to understand this... It is just way too simple to use your brains.... Don't use your brains.... It is just that people don't expect the tax officials to understand the casino business.... Neither do they believe in the judiciary system to deliver justice.... It is only because of these 2 reasons. 1) Lack of trust on the tax officials 2) Lack of trust in the judiciary system. However, if these two entities decide to do the right thing then suddenly everyone will jump into the stock doubling it overnight. But that's a big IF.

From 2017 the Revenue is nearly 5000Cr. 28% GST is 1400Cr Lets assume Int+Penalty is 1400*2=2800 Its 4200. How it's 17000 Cr GST? Anyone from Equitymaster?????

Rahul, Delta was paying 28% tax only. But tax penalty is levied on Full Value of Consideration rather than Gross Gaming Revenue

I just read it in today's times of India paper in bangalore that all online games, betting, gambling is taxed at the entire amount - not on the profits from betting. It's going to be a major blow to such companies like delta corp

@@bikaner1234 Ur investment can turn to penny if u invest in Delta... Everybody knows how fast is legal system in India ... Tax liability is so huge that company can be closed Multinational Giants like Vodafone and Cairn also took 7-8 yrs to win similar cases against GOI that also under International arbitration... As a genuine investor like you I suggest to stay away from this stock till clarity on GST notice...

Hi, it may still fail but across similar trades with similar fundamentals, you may still come out ahead over the long term. Never obssess too much about one outcome, try to focus on the overall process and the overall track record.

The past record or performance of Delta Corp cannot be an indicator of future performance. The proposed change in GST law which is effective from 1st Oct 2023 proposes to tax the Gross Gaming value /Gross Bet value i.e,., the entire amount deposited is what effectively could be taxed and not just the commission value or the service charges. This proposed tax will have a very very adverse impact on the business of the Company going forward as customers will not be willing to pay GST of 28% on the Gross Gaming value...

Gaming is believed to be luxury business, where money doesn't have a value. Experience n fun matters more. Celebrities n tourists usually come here for enjoyment. Secondly new GST rule can't be imposed on previous services as it kills the entire Sector. It can be very well challenged in court, and court can give ruling in favour of the company. As it's a sector struggle, It may be settled fast.

@@preetSingh-up8je had put option written around 230 and delivered 2800. Was 70k profit when it tanked with GST blow. Was selling call ever since Now the due is 3-4 times its market cap and hence I can't imagine how they are going to pay it.

Sale sale delta corp . It is impossible to pay the demand of GST . Moreover it is next to impossible to pay even 1/4 th of demand to appeal against the order, which is mandatory to appeal.
