Dharavi was a small fishing hamlet a century ago. After 1947, searching for jobs in growing city of Mumbai huge groups of rural people migrated to the city for better life as the then India's new highly centralised Central Government was against Rural Development because our first PM considered villages to cause of India's ruinage opposed to Gandhi. But everyone's socio-economic conditions weren't fortunate so they settled in the backward areas such as Dharavi and unplanned urbanisation went on several decades to reach in today's condition. There are several issues related to Dharavi redevelopment mainly that more rural people will migrate seeing the betterment of slums and cycle will continue. Without sustainable large scale rural development in terms of economy, HDI, Infrastructure slum development has no meaning. Anyway I would love betterment of our slums cause I know how worse it is cause there's several slums in my town. The problem with slums is with more of lack of basic civic & public facilities over income levels.
You have a clear vision about Dharvi is it possible for you to bring it up with some ideas. Even though this constitutes high revenue the standard of living is very less
Our government wasted 80 years but couldn't remove slums but now after lot of criticism and vote bank politics, now they woke up started and this project to portray it as milestone for next election
I once visited a leather jacket store in Dharavi. The owner of the store was so kind to customer make the jacket with my own design and insignia. I have it with me since 15yrs. It is my most prized possession not because of the cost but the effort of the people to make it as per my liking. Amazing people.

they are doing this everyware as that area economy get incresed, near my home in UP their was a slum 8 year ago, now those people live in proper society around 5-10 km away from that slum and at slum area new building, mall and hospital is in construction

One of my uncle, is a part of this project led by Adani Group. He is a software analyst and basically assigned the task of geo-tagging each slum in dharavi using advanced AI models. That's why technology is a boon to mankind
I live in slum of mumbai too , and i know how difficult it is , 90 % of slum. In india dont have have their private toilet 🚽 they have to use public toilet Everyone young kid living in slum aspire to live in an apartment

No, so there is an empty land parcel in the area , where Adani will build the first batch of apartments for the residents , once it's complete people will be moved over there and and vacant land will be used to continue the process
