@@adamofblastworks1517 true, i think the word used here is miss cause this video makes us throw back to those times, even tho they arent specifically better or worse, its just been a while since we saw them
We always treat clippy like crap But clippy was just trying to help Clippy always tries to help But we never tried to help him Clippy was always there for us bit we never appreciated him 😭😭
As someone who grew up with every single element in this video I can honestly say this was a very surreal experience. Seeing all the things that I have used in the past with an emotional element to them was just wild.
Yes! I just made a comment coming to this realization. It truly is surreal, I get a sense of euphoria just watching it. Glad we can share the same feeling!
When I was bored on the old Windows XP computer that me and my sister shared, I would play a song, and scroll through all of the visualizations just to see what they are!
I felt so very bad for Clippy during this video, and I really had to sit there and mediate on the fact I got emotional over a digital paperclip....like...what even?
Stumbled across this and am so glad I did! As an 80’s kid that grew up with clippy and was around to see the start of the internet and social media, this song hit home for me. Heavy nostalgia
I was born in 1994 so I got experience kind of the beginning parts of the internet from the late 90s and early 2000s, and seeing Clippy and all this other stuff made me nostalgic too. Still remember using my old Windows 98 computer as a kid.
Kevan J. Atteberry designed Clippy due to Microsoft request, and this character was selected to be de default character on Office Assistant, that has more characters appart of Clippy; so him only have one creator.
I remember the day I got a new computer and looking for the paper clip in word and being disappointed when I realized it wasn't there anymore so it's very nostalgic and surreal that they chose the paper clip for this
I can't wait for part 2 where Bonzi Buddy attempts to join Clippy in his network domination but learns that maybe it's okay to be in the past so when he gets to Clippy he is able to convince him to give up control and he returns to the world of Windows XP as a grizzled antihero
It could represent the part of the insanity that happens when somebody who was once important to you leaves, you try to forget but it happens over and over again
Lyrics: I tell you, I've seen the light Somewhere in the shadows you appear Wish I could make it right So I can stop seeing your face in the mirror I see your ghost at night Every time I close my eyes
I, too, got emotional during the events of this song and music video. Though to be frank, I wasn't born in the 80s-90s, resulting in a not *too* climatic state of expression
The fact that Delta heavy released a video dedicated to portraying how all the initial and classic memes are forgotten/overlooked and are stomped into the ground is nice in itself. Delta heavy never fails to hit the central feels, video complements the track nicely. Good stuff.
I loved the its now save to turn off your computer screen on the Win me (?) computer from my grandpa... i still got an Win 95 Boot Disk floppy... this Video fucked me right into my heart... (im "just" 18)
dude, i'm 19 (* '99) too and when we were kids windows xp was the system that almost all computers ran on. and the most of the things in this video are present in windows xp so don't act like you are too young to know these things.
Niece: "Are these old memes?" Me: "Not really. More like memories from a time before memes." Niece: "huh?" Me: "Oh, young one, you were born into the internet. But it was my kind that made it."
@@sevirkenevans buut, macros is a kind of meme... The distinction just isn't used anymore as they are the default. There are text only memes and more. Rickroll is a kind of meme, for instance. Or maybe I just am way too old...
There's a lot of interesting symbolism in this video that flies over the heads of most.... biblical in scope even. This isn't about nostalgia folks, or just about clippy, not by a long shot. There seems to be quite a bit more to Operation Paperclip than meets the eye.
@@bandname The song is extremely well produced, mixed, and mastered. There's no technical issues with it, at all. So it's objectively not shit. Subjectively? You may not like it. But it's not shit.
Congratulations you have reached the 80s! Congratulations you have entered the 90s! Congratulations you have entered the world of memes! Congratulations you have entered the apple server! Congratulations you have entered the world of porn! Wait... What!!!
Even after a few (abt. 3-4) years of knowing this song, I still love the beat, the meaning, and the passion put into the production of the music video. Love ya'll Delta!
