It looks so innocent by now, watching you fly without a mask in sight or the slightest worry about who's going to cough near you in the airport. Maybe we'll get there again someday. Meanwhile, I'm going to be flying the Delta One suites from Seattle to Amsterdam in a week or so, and my biggest concern was having enough of a barrier for virus safety around my seat. Looks like they have good ones, which will mean that I can more or less safely take down my mask to eat when meals come around. Yay!

It has always been one of my dreams too! This year my parents surprised me saying we are going to Germany and my mom said that she got Delta one seats on the A350 it was amazing! I hope you get to experience it someday!

Yes, cash. They generally don't make sense nowadays unless you're 1-2 flights short for status. i.e., paying $x for a unintended trip to get $x+y in value through status in the subsequent year. Delta Platinum to Diamond would unlock 4 GUCs (global upgrade certificates) that work for int'l business class (i.e., KLM, Delta, Virgin Atlantic).

Great, they now have storage. I flew Delta One 2 years ago and there was no storage at all, purse, coat and everything else had to lay on the floor.

Is it worth it the extra footrest space you get on seat 2A&H? Or much better to get one of the uneven number window seats and have the seat by the window? Flying delta one in a couple of months and trying to decide. Thinking it will be nicer to have a little “lobby” space by the door if needed to get up while laying flat?

I think it depends on you! If you're taller (or just prefer more space), than footrest is nice. If you prefer looking outside and daydreaming, it's a lot nicer to be closer to the window. I guess you could do the latter in economy though 🙃

Thank you so much! It is an overnight flight so not much to see. Does the galley noise and lights bother on those seats? I am currently on 3h. Sorry so many questions. Have been waiting for a while to try the suites and I am super excited. Flying to Chile, last year I was going to be on them and they switch the plane last minute to a 350L :( hopefully that wont happen this time

Sucks about last year :( I think the most annoying seats are usually by the back, by the restrooms. As long as you're not there, you should be fine :)

Since I’m locked due to Covid, Spending plenty time on the web clicking around. Never quite understood the economics of running up miles to improve airline membership status. Which of your/sebby’s videos explain it?

99% of the time, it does NOT make sense. In my case, I was 1 international flight away from Diamond status. This "unlocked" 4 GUCs (global upgrade certificates) allowing economy => business upgrades for KLM, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic. Economy fares for Europe in 2018/2019 were $300-$400 so we figured it would make "2020 Europe trips" (lolol) enjoyable.
