This Delta Rockwell 37-315 8-inch Jointer I picked up recently in Longbeach has been an excellent addition to the workshop. I did a complete restoration minus a new motor as it was in great shape. A fresh coat of paint and new hardware made these machines look as good as new. This video has been a long time in the making and I appreciate all of you who have continued to follow me. I hope this video might lend a hand to someone attempting to do the same with their jointer. Supplies used:
-WD-40
-Mineral Spirits
-Rubbing Alcohol
-Zep degreaser
-B'laster Metal Rescue Rust Remover
-Blaster Penetrant 11-oz Lubricant
-Klingspore PS33 220 & 400 grit sandpaper
-Wire Wheel kit
-Rust-Oleum Professional Flat Gray Primer Spray
-Rust-Oleum Professional High-Performance Enamel Gloss Dark Machine Gray
A majority of the supplies were purchased at home depot, with the exception of the new hardware like bolts and v belts and switch which I picked up at my local DIY center, AutoZone and amazon.

I am sure you will and if you need any more help or tips just send me a message. I know having well-functioning machinery is vital. Once the initial restoration is done it takes minor maintenance to keep things running smoothly for years to come.

@@therightangle Thanks. Did you end up doing anything with the dust collection? I'm considering buying some kind of shroud so I can hook up my dust collector.

@@getothfam It's still a work in progress when I purchased the Jointer it came with an aftermarket dust hood I think it is the POWERTEC Big Gulp Dust Hood. The only bummer is that the holes don't line up but it's nothing we can't fix. It is definitely on the list but for now I just have an open short trash bin to collect what comes out.

@@therightangle Got it thanks! I'm thinking I'll have to drill and tap my own holes to fit whichever hood I get.

I did not notice that the outfeed table was drilled for a knife sharpener. But, I did notice that your jointer has the “Knife Stop” (knife indexing stop p/n 418-04-088-5005) mounted with the small screw on top of the left hand cutter head bearing housing. It’s missing on my 37-315 and my bed is drilled for a sharpener. If you ever get a sharpener or just want to hone the knives, rotate the stop 90 c/w and push it into the holes drilled into the end of the cutter head. The stops are not available. I need to borrow one or go freehand and make one. The Stop might also be useful when setting the knives. Oh, goes w/o saying, wonderful restoration and nice video.

Awesome I didn't even know that was an option I love learning about this stuff thank you for the info. I will look into myself as well, and I appreciate the support. Hoping to do some more restorations soon. Had my first child and have been quite busy getting used to the new schedule.
