(BETTER WITH HEADPHONES) I'm sure someone's found this already, or maybe it's just blaringly obvious to everyone else anyways, but I felt like making a little video just for ease of comparison.
The performative boy genius melody being stripped away, leaving only the core percussion behind is so fitting. There's nothing disguising Berdly's heart anymore, so to speak.
Nice, I was confident berdly had one but wasn’t sure what moment in his themes it was, is there anything similar to this in his overworld theme? (Idk what it’s called but the one that sounds like a mix of smart race and queen’s theme)
Do you mean this one? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-egDgAQlgSLA.html If so, sort of, the beat isn't really there but the main hook is also in Smart Race (0:47 for example)
Yeah, that one, it’s not in the sound test at the end of pacifist so I wasn’t sure what it’s called, but yeah that’s the only other theme specifically for him since attack of the killer queen is for him and queen, so if their is a leifmotif that encompasses all his themes it would be in snowgrave berdly, smart race and overworld berdly, and then maybe attack of the killer queen
I mentally died too when i saw the "WEAKNESS: ICE. Use your strongest ice spell", even when i already knew about Snowgrave because i didn't know about t h a t
@@BaronB.BlazikenBaronOfBarons it would be cool, honestly I kinda want it replacing just the snowgrave track in the game when you fight berdly in the snowgrave route version, because it would be like it’s still the happy and cool theme but now with a bit of heart thumping eerieness to it that makes it still feel like the battle, but with a much darker tone
i personally wouldn't call it a leitmotif but since this is a new way of "motifing" something, i'd call it a "percussion motif", and that's what toby fox just invented
Well, he didn't really invente it, these types of motifs could be found in games like morthis ghost's "OFF" where the percussion of the songs were used in others as leimotifs (because of how chaotic these songs can be) tho it's pretty hard to notice.
