I remember back in chapter one that Asgore gives you a bouquet of flowers which you give to Toriel, only for her to end up throwing them in the trash. I love this idea of those flowers being the secret boss of chapter 3, it fits perfectly and having to do specific task in a previous chapter to unlock a secret boss or route is genius

One of the best chapter 3 secret boss concepts I’ve ever seen. It feels like a love letter to Undertale with Undyne‘s, Toriel‘s, Asgore‘s and Flowey‘s themes incorporated into the song while still retaining its unique, secret boss-ish flair. The use of a 3D model is so perfectly integrated into the sprite of the boss, too! It looks so alive and doesn’t feel out of place either. The usage of another creative medium (pun not intended) like 3D modeling also pays homage to the photoshop elements of Omega Flowey’s fight, as they both use mediums not commonly found in Undertale and Deltarune. As seen in the Jevil fight, Toby Fox has used 3D elements in Deltarune before, just in the background, so it‘s thematically appropriate for this secret boss to also be 3D. Speaking of backgrounds: that is an amazing background! I feel like the background of a boss fight like this can make or break it, and you certainly chose the first option, as the rotating green vine-like things in the background (presumably being a part of the boss) not only emphasize the sheer SIZE of the boss, but also incorporate the trash from the trash can in Toriel‘s house into the boss fight. Having Toriel appear as part of a scripted fight at the end of the battle is also very unique, and allows for both the original Fun Gang trio AND Toriel to get some action in the fight, which is something quite enjoy. The way the background heats up because of Toriel’s flames feels very impactful, and having Kris being scripted to go down just adds onto that as well. I’ve seen the rotating green heart shield idea before, and I think it fit perfectly here, considering all the green and spiky things incorporated into this boss‘s design. Not only that, but I think it could be a very fun mechanic! Now for the one thing I think could have been better (Do take this with a grain of salt as I am not a music major and this DOES come down to personal preference, and your work is FAR better than anything I could make.) The one problem I commonly see in Fan-made soundtracks like this is that they spend a lot of time building up, but don’t have a good drop, or „Punch“ go to along with it. What I mean by this is that this lacks a short, yet memorable part of the song thats catchy and will make the audience remember it, like Spamtons whole „Now‘s your chance to be a big shot!“ Shtick in his song. I’ll edit this comment later to add some Fanmade Deltarune boss songs that have pulled this off. EDIT: See Moonster‘s „Power of the Ideal Man“ or „W0r1d D0m!n47!0n“, OR The_Updator’s „Knight“ theme and Kuromi1906‘s „GO TO HEAVEN“. In short, while I think the song itself falls just a little short of something that makes it stand out even more, the art direction is some of the best and most faithful to Toby’s style I’ve ever seen, while also being fantastically unique. I kid you not, If I saw this boss in Deltarune chapter 3, I would be overjoyed. All in all. Great work, you’ve definitely earned yourself a subscriber!
Actually, if I recall correctly, Toriel is only part of the fight during the weird route, and the flash transition doesn’t mean the two segments were actually connected. It’s just to show off the two different versions of the fight.
I think the "3D" element of Jevil's fight is actually just sprites. I feel like I recall toby saying something about that in the 5th anniversary deltarune stream.

Wait, if the boss is actually connected to the trash can, in the end of chapter 1, you can give Toriel flowers from Asgore and she will throw them away into that trash can, does that action make this boss more powerful or not?
@@jtjs6096 Hmmm that would be an interesting idea, maybe the boss would deal less damage to kris because he delivered the flowers and more damage to toriel because she threw them away with the rest or maybe she will give you an extra item in the end

@@Grimbaloo I mean... it's good that they're using motifs. Aside from them being generally useful, fanmade undertale and deltarune music is generally trying to emulate some of Toby's style, which uses motifs quite often. Like, Queen's battle theme uses Berdly's battle theme, which in turn uses Queen's overworld theme. King's battle theme uses the castle theme, Lancer’s theme, and The Legend.
@@Grimbaloo you.. you do realize the joke that toby created 3 songs exists for a reason, right? I love it, but both undertale and deltarune's soundtracks are littered with leitmotifs from other songs. It's not that big a deal if someone makes a fansong using them, they're probably closer to something Toby would make then if they created a new song from scratch with zero leitmotifs.
At first I thought this would be a strange idea considering that Chapter 3 is taking place in Kris house, not Asgore's flower shop, but then I remembered Toriel throwing Asgore's flowers in the trash, and then it made alot more sense.

After seeing the original concept art for this character you guys posted on your Twitter, I gotta say it came together just as planned! It’s impressive to again see how this boss moves and the trash whirlpool is a really great parallel to the garbage can! And how it turns red/orange with Toriel’s flames to mirror something like a lava pit or inferno is awesome! Great work!
This looks AMAZING. Also banger theme as well. So i’ll take the version with Toriel is the Weird Route alternative? Also, is Kris actually permanently knocked out during the fight? I wonder if it’s because of the super laser at the start, but for some reason the shadow mantle WASN’T obtained, so they were forced to take the hit. …And yeah, Toriel DEFINITELY didn’t liked that.
Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how you trigger the weird route in chapter 3, having to let Kris go down so toriel goes full mama bear (or goat in this case)
@@hexbug101 I would say less "how you _get_ the weird route", and more "how you stay _on_ the weird route". Especially because, as Kris would no longer be capable of acting on their own, it would further cement the theme that _we_ the player, not Kris, are the ones influencing people down these routes (edit) oh man, it'd be even better if we get the choice to take it or not, and Toriel thinks its a good idea to have, but we tell her that we trust _her_ to protect us, and _that's_ what sets up for this
I like the idea that the Shadow Mantle is the Chaos Kings cape. I also love how it seems everyone agrees Toriel would have a large brimmed hat with a long flowing cloak

The sky/shadow mantle becoming the tool that lets the soul blocks attacks as the Green sould is such a cool concept! Loved it a lot This is a great concept! Great job ^^

I think it’d be neat as, for your soul ability, you’re able to press Z to temporarily counter all damage dealt to you, allowing you to make the boss vulnerable to attacks and acts.
Dude, the leitmotifs in this theme is insane. Hearing ASGORE was AWESOME!!! I love ASGORE so much and it doesnt get the recognition it deserves. That and the spritework is really well done. Great job!

When I first noticed that Toriel throwed flowers from Asgore to trash, I thought like "Typical Toriel-Asgore moment". But now, when Chapter 3 is most probably going to take place in Toriel's house, it makes it painful, and made me so upset. Poor flowers, poor Asgore.
Asgore probably did something really bad, which is why they divorced. similar to their separation in undertale. people keep saying he's so innocent here and she's so evil for throwing away flowers she doesn't want but he should know she doesn't want anything from him. maybe she hasn't told him no on-screen but that doesn't mean she hasn't... He probably has something to do with the disappearance of noelle's sister, if not more. I refuse to believe there's not a reason why she hates him so badly. Poor flowers, yes. Poor Asgore.... maybe not.
@Knux5577 In UT Toriel wanted Asgore to go to the surface and "take" the human souls via murder. She's has no issue being vicious to humans that arent kids.
If the secret boss ends up being the discarded flower, wouldn't it be nice if the personality of the flowers was almost Flowey-like? I mean, the secret bosses seem to represent some dark part of Kris' personal life. With Jevil, it reflected Kris' loneliness and how much of an outcast she felt like, and with Spamton, it reflected how Kris' soul isn't his own, being puppeteered by someone else. What if Ch3's boss reflected Kris' relations with their family? Again, going with the theme of the discarded flowers, which are a literal symbol of a broken family. Plus, who do we know in Kris' family that has a lot to do with flowers? Perhaps someone who's soul was put inside of one, turned bitter and cold after he couldn't feel love for his parents?
That sounds like an interesting idea maybe the pink and blue one red represent kris's parents the gray one would represent kris's inner voice (the vessel) and the yellow one could be a reference to frisk being related to undertale why I chose frisk it's because I think frisk is kris's ancestor or a relative

Out of all the deltarune concepts this is probably the most believable and fitting fanboss and ust ive seen. I really like it too because the boss arena and the boss remind me alot of paper mario

No matter what, out of all Secret Boss Concepts this one is the best when the upcoming Chapters Darkworld is build around Toriels house like now. It should represent the flowers that Asgore gives to Toriel that she rejects by throwing them in the trash if i'm right and let me be honest this Boss is the best represantation of it, it gives the vibes of a Deltarune Secret Boss with the 3D...munshing thing and the 2D Flowers. Of course we have to talk about it first: The Song is really really awesome, you clearly hear there are other undertale tracks in it with it's own theme and it sounds really good, I don't think Toby would not put Undertale Tracks into a Boss Fight like that but yeah the theme is very well done you can't say it's bad. And the other thing: It would have so much potential for a good and innovative Boss Fight that you can easily compare with Jevil and Spamton with it's own fighting and sparing concept. You could make like a Roulette table out of what flower you can hit for fighting, like you can hit and kill each one of these flowers and it depends on the emotion of the flower how the attack looks like, and yeah you could make it that this grey/blue creepy looking Flower can give you damage if you're attack lands on it, do you guys know what i'm talking about like it would be so cool. And it could give you a bit Lore of course so like you can get a little bit more of the light world and asgore as a character, I mean they both are not that interesting you can just predict what's coming in the next chapters through Dialog and locations but that's it. I think this Boss would be the best and coolest thing that we can get now for a Secret Boss and I'm sure it wouldn't be really a difficult thing to add it in Chapter 3, the only problem is that the secret Boss for Chapter 3 is probably already done before this Concept got released and there is no time to change that and it's all still all toby's creation and imagination so he decides what's gonna happen, but it doesn't matter, he's still really creative and will make something good for Deltarune so I'm not going to hate him for not adding this Boss he already has enough pressure from the Community

I really like the concept of a new secret boss being a monster without much "personality" instead of a completely new insane character with some sad backstory each chapter
Its the flowers in the trash toriel got from asgore, combined with some other disfusting and depricated old things like the big mouth probably being a old toy, rubber ducks as the carts and alot of mush of stuff as the green (water?) Thing
yeah, considering it is implied that Toriel has thrown flowers in the trash before, maybe it could just simply be like a concept of heartbreak and have no real personality because they are just a concept
Hear me out: The secret boss SOUL order in deltarune is the True Pacifist SOUL order reversed. Red =Jevil/Asriel Yellow = Spamton/Mettaton And so if it does turn out that the flower toriel threw in the trash becomes the secret boss, it should grant the purple soul, with its vines would be what replaces the webs.
Was bored, made some stat/ inspect stuff idk: Dentata: Has a teething problem. Will probably bite you. Hydrangeas: throws out a barrage of attacks. Attacks: dentata’s attacks: Bounce shot: fires a bouncing ball with teeth that bounds off the walls like a DVD logo. Relatively small but gets larger the more hydrangea heads get defeated. Roll along: fires out spiked balls that roll horizontally across the soul box thing (idk what it’s called). Hydrangea head’s attacks Pink head: will fire off either a spread of pink pellets (3/5/6/8 dependant if there are 3/2/1/0 other heads left) or an arced shot of either 1/2/2/3 projectiles dependant on other remaining heads. Blue head: fires a bouncing shot of 1/1/2/2 projectiles or fires a looping shot that performs 2/3/3/4 loops Purple head: drops 4/5/7/9 projectiles from the top of the screen to the bottom, or fires a charged bolt that takes 4/3/2/1 second(s) to charge Yellow head: fires a timed line of 3/5/9/11 projectiles that follow either the player’s horizontal of vertical position, or fires 1/1/2/2 homing pellets that track the player for about 3/4/5/6 seconds. Each hydrangea head has 1500 health, except the yellow head which has 3000, while dentata has 5500. Only a maximum of three hydrangea heads can attack alongside dentata New player moves/conditions for this battle: The basic attacks for all characters (excluding toriel) can only target dentata and the yellow flower. To compensate, each character gets one new special move that costs 25% TP Kris: blue slash (damages the blue flower with three weaker hits) Susie: pink buster (damages pink flower with high-ish damage) Ralsei: purple spell (damages purple flower and slightly heals all characters) The whole party also gains a full-party ability called ‘rainbow siege’ which costs 85% TP and allows them to hit any flower they want with any of their moves on the next two turns. (Also toriel has a fireball attack which hits for high damage on any target) I have no idea if this is well balanced but anyway. Edit: stuff I needed to add: 1) the hydrangea heads don’t die when they run out of health, but wilt. They can still trigger a powerful laser attack when wilted. 2) the player had a shield for this, mostly to help with the utter swaths of BS thrown at them. The shield can protect the player in any one of eight directions (those being horizontal, vertical and both diagonals) Yeah I know this is a really poorly made comment but idc.
Get bored more frequently, this is pretty neat (we'll see how it compares to Wandering Maker's version of the fight). Just a few things to note, especially the names: From what i understand from a concept art of the boss, the 4 flowers together are referred as ""Blossoms", while the plant snake thing is the "Immortal Hydrangea" (so i guess the Blossoms act as some kind of parasite to control the Immortal Hydrangea?). Also all 4 flowers have their own names, based on their colors: The Cyan flower is "Carnation", the Magenta Flower is "Magnolia", the Yellow one is "Yarrow", and the Key one is "Kalmia". CMYK, lmao.
attack ideas 1- vines will slowly move from any horizontal direction, with a 3 ping warning before slamming into the soul, if blocked they will bounce back like a spear on a hard surface, being hit will make the vines stab into the soul 2- same as one, but with a chance of a vine appearing on the sides and launching its thorns toward the soul 3- the soul turns red, pellets will fly like crazy as 4 vines slowly close in the box, after the box is fully closed you go back to green and it will be like 2. 4- the flowers will circle around the player and shoot "friendliness" pellets, each flower head has different effects, red will set fire that acts like karma, blue will freeze and make the soul move/block slower, yellow will shoot normal pellets, and grey will shoot a big pellet (about the same size as the pipis) that will bounce to a different direction, greys pellets bounce based on how many times you don't attack it, red shoots based on how many times you DO hit them, yellow shoots every second, and blue shoots at a random time from 2-5 secs, once greys bounces are done the pellet is gone, if in red soul mode grey will shoot a homing big pellet, grey will shoot stronger but slower if its hit by all the fun gang, in red soul mode, the grey pellets are bigger, the flowers laugh, and you can trick them into shooting each other. 5- just 3 and 4 combined, gl. 6- 2 and 4, vines + the flower heads Easter eggs: if a red pellet hits toriel it heals her, if the flowers hit themselves they are stunned with a shocked face, if you stay near each flower during red soul mode 4, they will react differently, grey will do charas iconic drippy face, red will look mad at the soul, yellow will slightly blush and have 4 hearts around their face, blue will stop being depressed for a second, yellows blush and hearts increase spare by 2% each time, if you attack yellow they wont do the 2% cause you are a monster >:(
This probably some sort of theory about the discarded things. Fountain was made by someone (we don't know that likely to use Kris body). The purpose of Fountain is to animate object and unliving things so people know them if they were alive Joker card always discarded when playing card. The player likely the kids in the school and so the reason why the Fountain was made there. The purpose of Fountain is to show Jevil are lonely (Joker) and want to play too (showed he want to play with the gang) E-mail spam always ignored and discarded. Among the spam is likely promotion of things from a Salesman who tried their best just to live. Not everyone seems to be interested or able to afford a computer so a place where there's lot of computer (cyber world) is the Library and Fountain was made there. The purpose of the Fountain is to show Spamton (Spam of Salesman promotion who did his best to live) was to be taken notice as they're exist like how Spamton tried his best to show Kris that "I'm here" What do y'all think about chapter 3? A bouquet of Flower for the loved one that always discarded, just to rot in vain and the Fountain was made in the house of the loved one tho show the feeling of the flowers as they said "we've been nurtured with LOVE, why you don't LOVE us? Are we not beautiful enough?"

Response to the fun fact: I sincerely freaking hope so. The vessel could be perfect for a return in a late chapter, from 5-7. If it's a secret boss, a final boss, or it even just makes an appearance and says a one-liner, i want to see it again
I personally think the vessel is the knight, it seems like such a meta and toby thing to do, especially given the inspirations he’s listed for deltarune
Okay, it took me a LONG time to even notice it, but behind the Blossoms i think there's something that looks like a cog wheel with 2 pointy looking leaves attached to it? I guess it is consistent with the Immortal Hydrangea having the windup key attached to it.
Anybody getting a little vibe from Hydrangea's Vines Animation? hmm.. *Naval Piranha in Yoshi's Island* No but seriously this boss just reminded me that specific boss. But seriously great job I love this.
The inclusion of Your Best Friend (Aggressive Flowers and Asriel), Battle Against a True Hero (Green SOUL) and Asgore and Heartache (The thrown away flowers signifying Toriel and Asgore's divorce) is amazingly fitting. Lol. (Not to mention the Shadow Crystal Boss Motif)
I really love this boss concept. Aside from a lot of the other really cool things other have pointed out (the fact it's likely a reference to the flowers in the trash, the flowey reference), I love the fact that Toriel would show up and fight it, as it makes perfect sense for Toriel to be the perfect counter to it. Not only is it a plant and she wields fire, she was the one to throw it away in the first place. The thing that really sticks out to me though, is the worldplay with Hydrangea. It's a plant with multiplie heads, so what if it's literally a HYDRAngea? In the first phase; Kris, Susie, and Ralsei can't take it down because they don't have anything that can hit multiple targets at once and thus the heads always continue splitting, but once Toriel shows up, not only are Hydras weak to fire, but fire attacks are oftentimes multi-target attacks too, meaning she could take down all of the heads more efficiently. Not sure if the Hydra part was intentional but regardless, it's a really cool concept.
The leitmotifs here match the concept pretty well, along with the new one: (SPOILERS about both games) 0:37 Undyne here, probably for the possibility that she will be in the next chapter. It also ties to the theme correlation between the secret bosses so far and the bosses in the Genocide route backwards. 1:23 your best friend, because flowers related to a tragedy between the Dreamur's family. Also variations of Jevil's theme. 1:27 Toriel, because she threw these flowers alway
My headcanon for these guys is that they want to spread joy and love and wanted to help Kris especially, but they mistook the person who through them away with Kris. Which is the reason they fight them. Each of the heads would have their own personality. The yellow is joyful wanting to fight Kris the least. Red would be constantly angry, wanting Kris dead the most and is likely the one to attack Kris in the weird route. Blue is slightly lazy and also quite sad and only smiles as a way to match up with it's partners, they mainly because it's fair and not out of spite. Gray (who seems to be related to Gaster), doesn't show much emotion despite it's smile, and speaks in all caps and also in a more cryptic manner, for reason of attacking, probably just because the others are.

@@luckytrap897 I didn’t disagreed with your point, i just added that by the time Kris and Toriel reached the boss, she likely got even more HP than what she starts with (confirmed by one of the devs on reddit by the way).
@@BananaTrooper3650 Definitely looks like it. My theory is that, just like with Noelle, Toriel will be the key to start the Weird Route in Chapter 3 and, after the requirements are met, she will fight with Kris against the secret boss instead of Susie and Ralsei.
The mechanical part of it give me chills for some reason, also the remix of a lot of soundtracks on a single one is amazing, that's it, this song is amazing

I love this and the concept of Asgore's discarded bouquet becoming sort of a representation of Kris having to deal with the divorce, it also perfectly fits the themes with the secret bosses At first I wasn't the biggest fan of the sort of wind up piranha plant thing, it's sort of covering up the main boss sprite a little and it looks a little odd, but it's good I also love the detail of the bow, just like in the alarm clock It's also cool how the positioning of the duck boats actually makes it seem like the party is being chased around the whirlpool
It'd be interesting to see how this would work, especially since it appears you can either fight the Immortal Hydrangea using either the Fun Gang or just Kris and Toriel

So there are already flowers in the trash, but if you get the other flowers from Asgore and give them to Toriel, the secret boss might be stronger since more flowers were put in the trash.
Imagine, you dont fight this boss but keep getting flowers, the boss comes back crawling out the trash and fights you before turning to stone during the roaring, 12 turn bullet hell and high dmg, basically make you regert the flowers
I wonder if this boss was real, how it would tie in to the theme of secret bosses talking to this "mystery man" (presumably gaster). Flowey is driven by only negative emotions, and the design seems inspired by him, so perhaps gaster persuaded the "flower" to reach this higher form.
